Hi!
I bought iPhone 6 in July 2015, which was perfectly working for a year. In July 2016, a week after the warranty expired, the battery started dropping like crazy, it would last for maybe four hours. I went to get it repaired however, they found out it was not the battery but defective motherboard. I couldnt otherwise but bought a new one. So I bought iPhone 6S. It has now been exactly a year and the same thing is happening again. When Im not using it, it is quite fine. Used to be better but it is alright. As soon as I begin using it it goes down by like 25% per hour. I am afraid it is the motherboard again. I am quite outraged as iPhone is too expensive to only last a year. The fact that it has happened with two phones in a row makes me question the way I use it eventhough I am not aware of anything unusual. Is it a bad luck or am I doing anything wrong? What do you recommend me to do with my phone?

Try reinstalling the OS (install the latest stable version of iOS), after that check battery stats to see which app is consuming most battery and turn off Background App Refresh for it.

Anyway, next time get AppleCare+ with your iPhone. It's only $129 and gets you two years of extra warranty. Or third party/carrier insurance. It's very helpful in these situations.

Also, what are your use habits? Streaming live video over network will drop you more than 25% an hour. That alone isn't abnormal. Without knowing what you do, we can't agree it's defective or just poor assumption of battery life relative to intensive use.

this isn't normal, even the battery of my 4s is still fine and i have also no problems with my 6s Plus, purchased almost two years ago.

do you have a Mac where you can connect your iPhone by USB? There is a very good free app that can show you informations about your battery's status and health:

You should also look in "Settings/Privacy/Locations Services" on your iPhone if there are many things set to "Always".

Also your battery might need a recalibration. Maybe only the percentage is calculated wrong but the battery is still healthy.
This can be done by letting it discharge until it turns off and then charge to 100% without any interruption. Keep it a while (at least an hour) connected even it already shows 100% and repeat this at least a second time.

I heard best for the battery's life is to keep it always between at least 30% and up to 70 or 80% I think, but that's annoying and I always just charge when there is a possibility without ever needing to recalibrate it.

This is a myth. Lithium ion batteries don't need any calibration as such.

It's between 20 & 80% but your attitude is fine as well, just charge whenever you can. Don't leave it for too long in lower battery percentage.

To OP - where did you take the phones to get checked? I'm hoping you took it to Apple directly. Generally if it's within the first year you'd get a free replacement if anything inherent is at fault.
