Couldn't be happier .. Can open and close my garage with the Alarm.com app ..l used maps yesterday .. Apple Watch gave me turn by turn instructions... Never had to look at my phone .. I can text, call or email my kids even if my iPhone is upstairs or in another room .. The more I use it, the less I turn on my phone. Downloaded two playlist last night and will check out Bluetooth music functions today!

Only problem I have with the watch is my wife is going bananas with my continual mentioning of the product. Although to be fair I have been mentioning the watch every day since it was revealed...

Ho hum.

Shawn

Yeah I have been talking about it to my wife non stop and showing her all the features and she just looks at me trying so hard to pretend she cares, but I know she doesnt, but I have to tell someone about it and she is the one who gets to hear all about it!! LOL

I wouldn't say that I love it, but I am satisfied. It was the Samsung Gear Fit that burst my bubble when it comes to smart watches, so my expectations weren't particularly high to begin with. I tried several other smart watches after the Gear Fit, and they all left me dissatisfied as well (for a variety of reasons).

The Apple watch is attractive (for a smart watch), well designed, nicely manufactured, and does what I wanted it to do.

Specifically, I chronically missed text notifications on my phone, which constantly left my husband frustrated with me. With the haptic notifications on the watch set to "Prominent" and the sound for the notifications set to the loudest setting, I'm not missing my notifications anymore.

And, if my phone is in a bag or a pannier I don't need to fish it out to find out if one of my children or my husband is having some sort of "emergency" (lost shoes, missing consent form, can't find the Advil, etc.).

I "downgraded" back to an iPhone 5S as I wanted something smaller that could easily fit in my pockets. Now I don't even need a phone in my pocket, which I find incredibly awesome. :)

LOL

it's difficult being a husband in charge of small children sometimes :)

I love mine! Battery life has been great, no ill effect on my iPhone battery. It's been incredibly convenient!

Obviously people are going to try it out and some won't like it, some will. I think it is great.

I'll also say I've been low key about it. I didn't tell my husband about it other than I was going to order it. Then he saw me wearing it and he was like 'oh you got your watch today' and I said 'yup' and that was the end of that conversation :)

I think your experience depends on where you're coming from.

If you've previously used a Pebble, then the Apple Watch is sure to exceed your expectations because it does more and (so far) is more reliable. Also, you have a pretty clear picture in your head of what a smartwatch is and what it will do for you; how it fits into your daily life.

If you don't have previous experience with a smartwatch, then I think you're more likely to be disappointed. With all of the hype that surrounded this thing, the promise of Dick Tracy or 007-type gadgetry on your wrist...you're bound to have your expectations adjusted in the coming days, if you're not outright disappointed.

I do see a few bugs. A few things that I think could be better. And I trust Apple to get it right through software updates.

The battery is fine based on feedback I've received from others who use the workout function for the amount of time I use mine. That function drains the battery much more quickly. I also said I am not holding the battery against the watch. I knew the battery was not going to be a strong point of the device.

I use the workout function for an hour. Battery change - about 3%. I truly think there is something funky with yours. But, it's up to you if you decide you want to look into it.

By the way, for those wondering how loudly you have to speak in order to reply to a message in a public place, I did it yesterday on the tram at Busch Gardens. I spoke very quietly, no one else even noticed, and Siri picked up every word perfectly. I felt like James Bond. LOL

----------

Just started using mine today, I love it!
Although the battery went from 70% to 8% in 3.5hrs... Is that normal for the first day? Or is it defective? I have the 38mm.

Not normal - what were you doing during that time?

----------

I want to talk to you guys since you love yours, haha! Questions:

When I get mine, use it or charge it first?

Do I let it die before charging it all the way back up for the very first time?

I wanted this thing for Maps. How are maps while driving? I've heard Siri doesn't audibly tell you what's happening anymore, which I didn't realize. Instead you get the tapping, which is something I'm really excited about. But would love to hear any impressions about Maps while driving.

Can you Airplay Spotify from the watch? I know you can go to the next song, etc, but Airplay?

Can you ask Siri to tap someone?

I charged it for a few minutes, but couldn't wait until it was fully charged before playing with it. LOL

No need to let it die before charging again.

Maps is AWESOME. If you set up a trip on your phone, the watch just automatically knows and starts prompting you. I used it Saturday for both driving and walking, and it was dead on. You get three sets of taps (low tap, higher tap) for right turn, and three different sets for left turn (high tap, low tap). Phone also gives you a chime. I never even looked at the screen.

Also used it for walking directions, and it was dead on.

Can't answer about Spotify, since I don't use it. Sorry!

I just asked Siri to tap someone - didn't work.

I am very happy with mine. Now to be clear I am not an Apple Fanboy. I have owned many different phones and every stinking smart watch out there.

By FAR this is the best out there for now. A lot can be improved.

What Apple History has taught is Step one is Revolution step two Evolution... in many cases the evolution is boring from Apple. So I am happy for now I think this product has many opportunities for Revolution, lets hope Apple drives the industry.

While pairing my Apple Watch with my iPhone 6 Plus it occurred to me that many watch owners may enjoy the watch so much they'll prefer to leave the phone in their pocket or purse as much as possible.

Since all one needs is an iPhone 5 or later, the incentive to upgrade is reduced. Obviously I did a poor job of conveying that in my earlier post.

Stayed up too late playing with my easily addictive Apple Watch... :)

Eh, I'll always upgrade my phone.

I'm sure there will be upgrades that only work with the newer phones.

Love it. I have used Samsung watches in the past and enjoyed being able to have notifications come in on my wrist. The Apple Watch has surpassed all my expectations so far! Today will be my first real test at work. I used to wear a fitbit and now it's just the watch. I am curious to see how well this motivates me to make those extra steps - so far so good!

There's only one thing I would like and that is to be able to see how many steps I have walked by looking just at the watch. As far as I can see there is no way to see my steps without looking at the phone.

You can see your steps on the watch! Pull up Activity (all three rings) app and swipe up. :D

Thanks for that and doh! A few people have now told me how to do this. Great forum for helping people I have to say.

It now makes the watch "super cool" as others have said

And if you use the Fitbit app, the Sync Solver app for moving data from Health to Fitbit works like a charm. This way I can keep competing with my friends who have Fitbits. :D

Today is my first day with it at the office, so Ive been standing up every hour like a good boy when it asks me to lol

For the sedentary this is a nice feature.

Yet I must say I'm truly surprised that people are so impressed with it. We've had it on our office computers for years. It blocks the screen forcing people to get up and move. Not to mention we also have had it on our smartphones as well.

I didn't realize so many were unaware until Apple made a big deal of it.

This is precisely my concern.

All the ladies I've spoken to aren't the slightest bit interested in the watch. Being very social I also asked ladies in the Apple store with boyfriends or husbands getting the watch, if she was interested. Not one lady was.

Apple must get women to embrace and buy the watch. Their business is very important. If Apple fails to impress them, they have a problem on their hands. At least that's how I see it.

First day wearing it to work, so took off the charger at 6:20am, used it a bit more and co workers asking to see how it works, etc and its 8:43pm and still at 64% battery, I've been doing much better than Apples advertised battery life

Add me to the list of people who still love their  Watch..... I think it's an amazing piece of technology and value. I'm already seeing the benefits.....mostly I love that at a glance I can see if the latest notification is something important or something I can ignore and look at later. I don't feel compelled to constantly pull out my phone and get distracted.

With a flick of the wrist, I see the time, the outside temp, and my activity progress for the day.

If I happen to be on my phone, then the notifications don't go to my watch, love this seamless integration. Handoff for various watch apps work great.

Considering there are watches of similar price that *only* tell time, I'm very happy with my purchase. And it's beautiful and looks amazing on my wrist.
