I was referring to me personally not thinking that. And of course, you're on a pro-apple site. People will tend to like what they do more than one of their competitors, but Macrumors does have a large number of users that look at things without bias.
No longer a pro Apple site. More of a Attack Apple site. Only positive reviews of competing products with no reference to even how it compares, and mostly negative Apple info, rarely correcting blatantly wrong info.

When Apple announces the first iPad mini and put the price up on the screen the stock took a nose dive. Same thing with the iPhone 5c. Amazon stock is up 3% today even though the phone isn't that cheap, no revolutionary/unique data pricing and locked to AT&T. I don't get it. Plus it seems there are very few features that are hardware specific. Even aspects of the Firefly feature already exist on the Amazon iOS app. What is the point of Amazon doing its own hardware when it's goal of getting more people to buy stuff from amazon.com can be accomplished via software?

You don't get how a phone designed to more or less drive sales through Amazon services only wouldn't increase stock price?

Does it still not have the Google Play Store? If not then I believe it's still a glaring issue.

No 'forked' version of Android can have Google Play Services.

Battery Life

Battery Life is shown as below in the amazon.com

Battery size: 2400mAh. Talk time: up to 22 hours; standby time: up to 285 hours. Video playback: up to 11 hours; audio playback: up to 65 hours.

I think it's pretty good.

Adding you own features to snow on else's design doesn't make the theft ok.

God damn apple fanboyism is stupid. Adding to and taking inspiration from existing design is what art / design is about.

People at apple don't just come up with their design from thing air either. I guarantee that they're heavily influenced by other products and designs.

Definitely not an iPhone killer by any stretch of the imagination,....

lol, is it 2009 again?. No one has used that phrase for years... It should be .. not a HTC one m7/m8 killer.. last years universal phone of the year and front runner for this year's awards...

Yes, but that's not a problem if you earn enough money... so really, the problem isn't the data bill, it's the fact that people to get out of the cubicle and start earning some passive income.
(and your edited version)
Yes, but that's not a problem if you earn enough money... :)

So your goal is to fight fire with fire? I'm guessing it's fine to pay for data overages so long as you earn enough money?

Honestly?

I honestly thought the introduction video on Amazon's site was appealing to some extent. I liked some of the 3d stuff and the flicking to change things but after mulling it over for a while I sticking with my iPhone 5s which happens to be my first smart phone. Why? Well, most of what Fire was offering was gimmicky and not really useful like a finger print sensor that works well, seamless OS updates, availability of Apps that I want and are stable (though I can't say that Amazon's apps aren't stable), and I like what I saw in the WWDC keynote.

competition is great guys don't talk crap about the phone

iphone for life for me but this looks like a pretty good phone

Wow yeh as if Amazon made headphones that fit in your ear like Apple did. Them copycats! Oh yeh and that case, wow yeh they may be completely different colours but see how the case has a hole for the camera, just like Apples, blatant copy!

/Sarcasm out.
You don't see what it is about the earbuds that is actually blatant copying? How could Amazon have possibly succeeded without making a first party analine leather case in colors for their phone along with earbuds that have the side positioned driver opening and vents just like Apple?

Oooh boy. Probably should review the last WWDC if that's what you define as theft - especially if you're going to reference Apple's own videos. :roll eyes:

Why are you so adamant about this? If it was blatant infringement, I'm sure you'll hear about it in a subsequent article about Apple v. Amazon. What if it was Amazon licensing the design (assuming that's been copyrighted)?

You don't get how a phone designed to more or less drive sales through Amazon services only wouldn't increase stock price?

How many people will buy it at those price points? Everyone was expecting a cheap phone or subsidized data plans.

Why do people make such a huge deal about 3D images in the maps app? 3D images have no impact on turn by turn navigation at all. Sure it’s cool and all, but still trivial.

I'm guessing it's fine to pay for data overages so long as you earn enough money?

That's correct. Once your income is above a certain level, it doesn't matter if something is $100 or $200 more, as those prices don't register in your mind; in the same way that a few cents increase in price wouldn't register in your mind when shopping for groceries.

Hmm.. Amazon as a whole have never interested me. Until today. I love 3D and it would be pretty useful on navigation maps.

Even if it's a modest number it will still drive sales.

And IMO these prices will be in line with the Moto X, which will drop to a very low amount soon - almost assuredly free on Black Friday or before holiday.

Honestly, I think they initial 'sticker shock' was to keep the phone in stock since the 4 camera design may have led to lower than expected yields.

Firefly is a killer app. Good on them to throw in a year of Amazon Prime. Whether it sells or not, it is a GREAT companion device for anyone who uses Amazon services.

Their Maps interface is an actual clone of Googles Maps interface on iOS/Android.

Lets see....anything else novel and useful that wasn't ripped straight from Android or iOS?

Yay competition!

You do realize that this phone runs a skinned version of Android, right?

Could not agree more. I really think they missed the ball here. Now it's just another really expensive phone. I was hoping they could have used prime to maybe offset some of the charges from att or something. I don't feel like they did anything ground breaking that is going to make iPhone OR Android uses to jump ship.

I don't even know how to response to this properly. No. Just no. That's not how sane folks operate (should or otherwise). Nevermind the ISP implications of that mindset, but to think that one should spend their money that way is unfathomable.
