For ****'s sake. Get that app out already, you d-bags. I don't know who is to blame, but they deserve a kick in the ass.

I seriously doubt they'll release it before the new firetv ships.:(

Fire TV came out yesterday.

Welp no app. Try again next month I guess. lol

Seriously, if Apple and Amazon don't deliver the app by December 31st of this year, I'm taking it back for a full refund on the basis of false advertising. There are just too many other problems I'm putting up with to keep it without a primary reason I purchased it.

I thought it was coming out October 26 but it was a lie. We got 2 more months left in this year. If it’s not out by then, all I can say is that Apple & Amazon are both telling lies. You can’t even buy an Apple TV on Amazon.

They were never going to release the app at the same time that Stranger Things S2 was released on Netflix...

Mine is going back on January 2 for a full refund, and that'll be he reason if there's no app by then.

Why? That's All the moreover reason to do it. Netflix is already on the ATV, so giving customers the Amazon app would give them something else to do besides stream the competition.

More likely they want to captalize on the new Fire TV box, before giving in to Apple.

My guess is they are gonna wait until winter sales are over. December 26th maybe.

That would be the worst.

Pros and cons with that move though. Releasing it before Thanksgiving or Christmas would encourage Apple TV customers to subscribe to Amazon Prime if they haven't, to take advantage of holiday binge viewing, especially to take advantage of pre-holiday shipping deals. It would be a great promotion for Amazon in fact. Also, based on the significantly higher price of the ATV, if Amazon is going to offer the FireTV on sale anyway, it's going to be an especially good deal by comparison. So pre-Thanksgiving would be an optimal date, given Black Friday there's likely going to a be a big sale.

I really though it was going to come out on the 26th. Really this fake news needs to stop. Back in my day you had to verify your sources before printing them. Now anyone with a blog or use social media can post something fake it trends and then it is not true. Heck even once good known news sites do the same. These millenniums 20 year old's fresh out of Journalism school need to get there sources right or just shut up and say nothing.

I can't believe how upset people are getting over Amazon :D whilst ever they continue to list purchasable items with streamable items, I won't use it. Also, Netflix is absolutely killing it lately with their Originals, so I'm not seeing many reasons to use it.

With the UI changes made to the FireTV over the last year or two, I can almost assure you that there is no overlap between an Apple TV user and a FireTV user at this point.
I can agree with that. Just returned a new Fire TV after about 15 minutes of use. Even as a Prime member it's full of ads and sponsored listings. No thank you. Similar thing happened when I tried Amazon Music Unlimited - used it for a couple weeks, moved over my whole library, then came to the realization that Apple Music was a much better experience. Have four Echos and was going to pick up another one.. think I'll hold off and see what the HomePod brings instead. In the end I learned I would rather pay a premium price for a premium product.

Would love to see the Amazon app on the Apple TV though. Prime benefits are worth the cost, but their products/services outside of Echo seem lackluster in comparison to Apple.

And rip off add-on channels that you need Prime just to pay more. You are better of subscribing to those through the actual app service because there add-on channels give you less than what the actual service in there own native app has.

This is why I want a Amazon app on the apple TV. All I want to see is prime content and anything that I have purchased, linked from Movies anywhere. No PPV or addon crap.

There are no other options if you want to watch Red Oaks, High Castle, American Gods, etc...

There's a lot of stuff that doesn't make sense in this sentence.
