In Canada, the app store for Apple TV does not list it yet, BUT if you've downloaded it for your iDevice it will appear in your purchases on your Apple TV. You can then install it. Just did it.

So, are we supposed to be able to do a search from the main screen of the Apple TV and see movies available in the Amazon app? For example, if I search for "The Holiday" which is a movie included with your Prime subscription, my Apple TV shows me that it's available in Hulu, iTunes or Crackle. Why isn't it telling me that I can watch it in Amazon (for free)??

That's pretty useless if I have to search for movies inside multiple apps vs. a true universal search. What am I missing here? Does this functionality work for anyone else?

Thanks!

Wonder how long until it is pushed to Apple TV 3rd gen?

I have it on my 4th and 5th gen Apple TV devices.

FINALLY! One of the final nails in the coffin for my Roku players.

I have two different friends - with Rokus - who wanted to migrate to ATV (they use other Apple products), but _both_, funny enough, were holdouts due to the lack of Amazon PV :D I'll have to send them a message today!

Is 5.1 sound working for anyone? Tried "The Man in the High Castle" (which is listed as 4K/5.1 sound) and it played as stereo. Switched over to Netflix to make sure nothing got broken with the AppleTV iOS 11.2 update which I did just before installing the Amazon Prime app, and 5.1 sound was working just fine. Went back to Amazon Prime -- still no 5.1.

Any info on the subject appreciated, thanks!

Pigs have flown! Holy s****!!!!

Right? This immediately popped into my head:

I applaud them for finally doing this.

With that said, I was hoping for this about two years ago, and it is too late for me as I abandoned my Apple TV 4 a couple of months ago for a different platform.

With the exception of the Roku in my kitchen, which has a headphone jack in the remote, I barely use the others.

Apparently, it is available. I'll try on my ATV 3 when I get home this evening.

"While the tvOS app is a separate component of the installation, Amazon Prime Video is said to be available on pre-app store third-generation Apple TVs as well as fourth-gen and 4K Apple TVs, according to the release notes. (We're waiting for clarification on generational support.)"

Wow, what a pain to get installed and working on my ATV 4. Sorry to complain after the long wait for it. But I would have never found this App without you guys’ advice here. I am on the non-techy, older user side. I guess it was Amazon that made it hard to find? Anyway, thanks for the How to Find advice.

The only reason it's hard to find is that it's only just be released, it tends to take a few hours before new stuff will appear in App Store searches. Tomorrow, you won't be able to avoid it!

I just checked our 3rd gen, and it's not showing up, assuming this is correct, that's a pretty big deal, 3rd gens are still pretty capable for straight up media streaming, and super cheap.

I never really found Prime video to be all that good, but I'll check it out later today. If it means more 4K content, I like it. What are some good shows on Prime?
