Torrents still have Dolby vision and Atmos.
This must depend on where you live because I rarely see shipping times more than a single day and at least half of the stuff I order has same day delivery.I cancelled prime after they started charging for ad free streaming. Their shipping speed has been slipping more and more over the last few years and half of the items are no longer available for two day shipping anyways. Looks like I made the right decision.
Physical media is alive and well, and actually growing.Everyday we are reminded that we should have never let Blockbuster go out of business.
FCC is looking to prohibit this by cable/satellite operators. They better add these junk streaming apps to the list.I guess the next step is to start tying people into 12 month contracts to stop the people who subscribe for a month to binge the latest shows and then move on to the next service.
And then 18 month contracts...
There should be a class action. People need to let them know that these rug pull changes to a service they were sold on are not acceptable. We let them get away with the ads, and they haven’t stopped. Give them an inch and they’ll take a mile.
I'm going to strongly consider if its worth me even subscribing to prime any more..at least for the annual one? their once great prime music is a waste of time and now they hobbling their video service..
Amazon Prime Video content no longer includes Dolby Vision HDR or Dolby Atmos surround sound on its ads-supported tier, which is included in all Amazon Prime memberships.

The news was first reported by German website 4KFilme and picked up by The Verge. Instead of the higher fidelity options previously enjoyed for no additional fee, Prime Video is streaming in HDR10 with Dolby Digital 5.1.
That is, unless you pay $2.99 extra for Prime Video's ad-free service, in which case you can retain the higher quality audio experience. The change was confirmed to The Verge by Amazon.
"Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos capabilities are only available on the ad free option, on relevant titles," said an Amazon spokesperson.
Most Prime Video viewers will be Amazon Prime members, which costs $14.99 per month, or $139 per year if you pay annually. Prime Video is also available as a $9.99-per-month standalone subscription, or $12.99-per-month if you add on the Dolby Vision HDR or Dolby Atmos surround sound surcharge. Ads were introduced across basic Prime Video subscriptions in the United States on January 29.
For comparison, Disney+ costs $9.99 with ads, while Netflix can be had for $6.99 per month with ads, although content is streamed in 1080p. Meanwhile, an Apple TV+ membership costs £9.99, up from the previous $6.99. Apple introduced the increase on October 25, but there are no limits on streaming quality.

It shouldn't. They should offer you exactly what you paid for on the first day of your ONE YEAR SUBSCRIPTION. Have a clue. And for everyone claiming “that’s wrong”, “misleading”, “sue them”, why would any service offer more for less?
I feel your pain. I was sick of Apple TV+ on day two, after I had watched all of the content. All my streaming subs are cancelled. The only one left is Apple TV+.
I’m sick of this, it’s getting really old
That’s quite true. Netflix streams at worst bitrates at 4K than a physical disk with 1080p resolution. Heck even worse if you stream non netflix owned movies it streams at 480p in a browser. Imagine 480p in 2024.Physical media is alive and well, and actually growing.
Get a 4K Blu-ray player and a whole new world opens up. A world of better quality that you actually OWN.

With all these stupid changes and jacking up the prices sailing the high seas will be making a big comeback at this rate. For a start there shouldn't even be an ad paid tier from any company, that alone is disgusting.
The issue I have is paying yearly in advance and them removing features. The changes should have started for monthly payers the next month and for yearly payers the next year.
This is just low...
It would have been more honest if Prime kept all the benefits and just increased the price...
With all the services becoming more expensive, we eventually would have accepted it.
Like this though...
