1. Why was it all or nothing for the ladies? Makes no sense to me.
2. What great timing to have the zombies march on the ladies!!! What a coincidence.
3. No one says to rick, you want us to fight against a guy who just takes anything he wants by....coming here and taking anything you want??? You're different how?
Totally disappointed the way they handled Sasha's storyline this episode. She is such a great actor and a longtime cast member of the group. She deserved better. The rape scene was unnecessary. Dave giving her water is enough to incur death by Negan to setup the next scene in the room. They should have expanded it more to show her take down, instead we had more filler of collecting guns, the hilltop and seaside. Which could have taken a total of 5 minutes to wrap up and leave the rest of the hour with Sasha and Dweight.
Eugene is an Alexandrian. His compassion showed during Sasha's pleas to help her die. But when the camera changed over to Sasha her facial expression said she had played Eugene. She still is going after Negan.
Negan, in few lines, tells Sasha he's aware of Ricks plot to overtake the saviors. How? Who's the snitch?
So Rosita sees Dweight, and he just waltzes out to her, to surrender? Ok ... moving on ...
Oh and I do wait for Slimy Gregory's demise.
Kirkman and Gimbell really missed the mark this season. They wasted so much time with garbage filler stories and not focusing enough on the main plots of the story line of the war on Negan.
Will next weeks finale be a bloodbath of war against the saviors and Negan? Or the setup for the war, which would happen with the next seasons opener in October. If I was a gambler, money would be on seeing the war begin in next seasons opening.
I disagree on the rape thing. Yesterday's episode showed once more that Negan is not doing things for the sake of it. He's not the typical villain, just evil. He believes in law and order as a means of survival.

The rape scene with David was straight out of the comics. If you have been reading some of the previous posts in this thread then you know that the show is taking elements of the comic book character Holly and merging them with the TV character Sasha. In the comics David tried to force himself on Holly and Negan killed him for it.
I find it very interesting what elements of the comics Kirkman and Gimbell choose to keep and what aspects they choose to change. Obviously, this scene was something that they felt was very important. I agree with @yaxomoxay, that the reason for showing it was to further develop and emphasize Negan's twisted sense of morality/law/justice.
Seeing what we saw with Sasha in this episode makes me think that they are definitely going to give her the same ending as they did with Holly in the comics. I can see how that would make for a powerful scene in the season finale.

Well, I haven't read the comics, although I did read the thread it has a while back. So I really don't know more other than what has been discussed about them. I do however, like reading posts where y'all show the elements between the comics and the show. It makes sense sometimes. Understand the rape scene now.

4. Really Daryl? Your temper got Glenn killed and you still haven't learned to control it. You had to be restrained when you saw Dwight? Just gonna kill him before he even speaks. Come on.
5. What's his name's boyfriend is the rat right? That's why he got his big speech moment.

Wasn't their last encounter when Daryl was locked up like Sasha currently is. Wasn't he more sympathetic and empathetic with Dwight any way during those moments? What all of a sudden between that scene and now gave Daryl the blind rage?? Maybe I just forgot...

The comics are two or more full story arcs ahead of the where the show is now. The next arc is called "All Out War" and that is basically the conclusion of the multiple communities conflict with the Saviors. I would say the beginning of next season would match with the beginning of that plot line. Then there is an arc called the "Whisperer War" that involves a completely new group that is unlike anything else up to that point in the series. The next chapter after that is where the comics currently are.
The way they write the show there could easily be 4 or more television seasons before we catch the comic.

Well, what I was saying is that at the very least as far as an initial type of reaction, if not well beyond that, something like the torture aspect can kind of get in the way of or basically come ahead of thinking.

Aaron's boyfriend was so against Alexandria fighting the saviors. If he made a deal with the devil, known as Simon, thinking he and Aaron will be safe during the conflict he will be the first to go.
Still not convinced Gregory isn't the one who will supply Negan and/or Simon with the info. Negan was probably toying with Sasha that he knows of Ricks plan and trying to get Sasha to slip up and say something.
Can't wait to see what Carole has in store to retaliate. She's the one who can calm Daryl down.
Does Dwight find Sherri alive?
I can wait to get answers. At least if they happen next Sunday. Side note, did anyone else notice how many dang commercials were in this episode?

Since war is only brewing...it seems like the finale is just going to be a whole bunch of tension driven filler of each camps preparations leading up to the BIG confrontation handoff of
a turned Sasha..
who will
have to be put down
by Rick...maybe that will be the cliffhanger. I'm not sure any cliffhanger can be more suspenseful than what they did last season. I just hope they write
Sasha off with due diligence and not just some forced or rushed scene to end her arc
to advance the story..make it purposeful and meaningful.

Finales are always susceptible to multiple deaths. With that said, I'd think the following could bite it (or be bitten) in the finale :
Sasha
Eric
Sherri
Tara
Gregory
Tobin (now that Carol has moved on)
(Insert Savior)
(Insert Kingdomer)
(Insert Oceansider)
(Insert Junkyard Jabroni)
But that leaves a lot of questions like:
-What's Eugene's stance going to be in the face of Rick?
-Will Dwight be used for counterbait for Sasha?
-I wouldn't believe Dwight for a second...not this early in the game. There's betrayal aloof. Don't forget how sneaky and slithery he and Sherri were when befriending Daryl initially. Or is Dwight really trying to get out this time?
-We haven't seen a Rick vs. Negan exchange of words since Negan knew he had Rick as his "*****", (thanks Sasha). It will be interesting how Rick chooses his words since he has his new found confidence and grapefruits.
-Is there a master plan of when and where this showdown is scheduled? Did everyone set their calendars? Seems like they are just randomly just going to meet up somewhere. Like the Kingdom seems the most out of the loop right now.
-Don't forget about the Junkyard Jabronis, certainly they will play a part, probably for the worst after receiving their promised contraband. Wait didn't Rick promise Oceanside he'd return all of their guns?
It's going to be jam packed with too much content it seems...even if it is an extended finale. But hey, that's the TWD finale recipe, tie up loose ends while splitting things up.
I'm still excited to see how it all unfolds though!
Side note...will Talking Dead be right after or do we have to wait again???
Side note to that side note...i wonder how many actual days are all of these events occurring?? That would be interesting to know.
I am not sure. The more I see Negan the more he looks like Rick's alter-ego. They both believe in law and order for survival, and Negan even keeps kids in high regards. Just remember when he spent time with Carl... Negan understood Carl better than Rick ever did. Negan is trying to keep his men alive, exactly as Rick. Rick is ready to kill, exactly as negan. They are both ready to steal weapons, or whatever is necessary. The main difference to me is that Negan is very clear in explaining his laws to his men, while Rick often comes out as a psychopath. If bet that if we didn't have a previous knowledge of Rick's ordeal we would say that the evil one his him and not Negan.

I don't know. It seems more like Negan accepted that cruelty is just another part (and often enough an important part) of the equation to it all, while Rick struggles quite a bit with it and does his best to stay away from it.

I don't think that Rick is struggling at all. He said multiple times - even on video when he entered Alexandria - that the world now requires to kill other people for survival. Heck he even wanted to kill the woman's abusive husband.

Well, realizing that and even wanting to do it in some more drastic circumstances is certainly one thing, but going beyond than just completely accepting it and actually welcoming it and not giving it another thought at all, that's still some ways away from that. In one scenario there's emphathy that might be getting squashed down by circumstances and even then still being there a lot of the time, and in the other there's basically just an absence of empathy.
Negan rules by brut force with shock and awe. He intimidates the saviors by showing them no one is safe with his house. He does set the rules yet he doesn't live by them. He murdered his own doctor, in front of the saviors to prove his point just as he used the hot iron on Dwight and who knows how many others. He has numerous woman for his own sexual needs and one who was given the choice to either do it or die. Good grief, Negan demands saviors to stop and knee in his presence. Let's not forget Lucille either. Just the sight of it brings saviors to become slithering idiots begging for their life. Thankfully Abraham didn't give Negan that satisfaction. FYI, I didn't watch that episode knowing it would be a horror killing. Reading about it was bad enough.
He subjects other communities with death of their members and forces these communities to sacrifice their own basic needs for survival on a schedule to give to the saviors. He has killed an entire community of males in seaside because he could.
I'm not a doctor nor do I play one on tv, but Negan is truly fits the definition of a psychopath.
He certainly isn't the leader Rick is. Rick has had his moments where his moral compass was screwed up, but only for a short time and either Carole or Marchonne set him back on the path of right. Rick kills those who threaten his new family, the Alexandrians. He sees what the new world order has done to good people.
He wants all the communities he knows to thrive independently and to help another when the need is there.
I would definitely want to be in Ricks camp and fight for my freedom from the likes of Negan.
The Season Seven Final was not what I expected. I'm digesting whether they really pulled off the double cross as a mechanism to add drama to this episode.
Everything amongst all camps is out in the open, finally.
Never trusted Jadis and The Junkyadigans from the beginning.
The way this is written, it would seem Rick and Company will have a major victory in S8 or S9 or at least eventually. The losses constantly seem insurmountable. Sasha zombified and dead, Rick shot, Michonne beaten to a pulp, Rosita simply shot (who in my opinion should have also been killed off or traded places with Michonne)...all the while it seems the Junkyardigans or The Saviors suffered NO casualties or serious injuries. WHERE'S THE BALANCE?! You mean to tell me in both instances of chaos at Alexandria not one person from Alexandria, The Kingdom or The Hilltop couldn't wound A Savior of importance?! Not buying it. They were all out in the open as well.
High point of the episode for me, was Rick not faultering even after Negan said he was about to kill Carl and they watched what they thought was Michonne fall from the rooftop. Maybe it was the omnious tone of music, but Rick didn't budge this time and showed no fear in the face of adversity. If anything, that one moment made the episode for me. Rick is in it for the long haul and he understands losses will happen, but it will not change the end goal.
Jadis caved far too easily to Negan in the second line up scene in comparison to when she basically gave into Rick when he didn't budge. That stood out for some odd reason.
Far too predictable that The Kingdom and The Hilltoppers would save the day. How could have no one not heard or seen a tiger approaching?! I guess there were secret entrances to Alexandria.
This could have been written a whole lot better for a season finale in my opinion, but at least the war has begun. If they keep making nods to the comics, it still has the potential to get much worse before it gets better. As I said earlier, too much bleak and barren tone just makes you feel like there's no way to win and sometimes you need that victory feeling at least from the protagonists. Ah well, here's to waiting 6 months for TWD to return...
