S7 E12 "Say Yes"

Father G becomes more admiral each episode, redemption at its finest in a more subtle way.

Rick seems to be growing tired of the lifestyle or at least doing it alone. Lavishing in the lap of luxury with quality time with Michonne clearly has him wanting to take another day everyday when she suggests they get back.

More bad CGI, while in the van driving, but that deer, my goodness! Worse than the post dumpster fight last week.

Poor Michonne, Rick really gave her a fright! I guess in the end worth the discovery.

This deal with the junkyard dogs though...

Damn it Rosita...why drag Sasha into this?! All for the love of Abe's Bisquick I guess? This isn't going to bode well for either of them...

Overall...STILL not understanding how The Saviors who claim to rule, have so many undiscovered places. Surely someone could venture out far enough and just start over without fear of being found by The Saviors, a la Oceanside.

They rule the areas they can reach and know about. When it looked like Rick bit it, it looked like Michonne was going to let them eat her too, she was that dismayed.

Junkyard woman is awful.
I would hope that nobody believed that Rick actually died. There was no suspense at all. They already used the trick too many times.
Negan must be incredibly stupid in not keeping a sentinel to track movement.
The deer... I can do better CGI (well, no I can't... but I can't do much worse).

Ultimately, S7E12 was a complete waste of time.

Wow, I'm surprised at all of the negativity. The last episode was about character development more than action. The whole Rick being in danger thing wasn't to shock or scare the audience it was to demonstrate how deeply connected he and Michonne have become. Her reaction was the focus, not the "suspense" of "No way, Rick is down!?!".

I'm not a fan of the junkyard people so far, but I understand what the writers are doing in terms of story arc.

Explain which character developed. Not one. Ok Rick and Michonne are very close, but nothing else was developed. I guess that it's to prepare the shock of Michonne's death (I am guessing).

Both Rick and Michonne showed greater character development.

As for Rick he is showing a greater willingness to depend on others, mainly Michonne, as opposed to carrying the burden of leadership alone. His post apocalypse worldview is completely evolving as his focus has grown beyond just the few people around him to a vision for how to restore some kind of normalcy and community to the region and possibly beyond.

Michonne's entire character arc has been about her solitary strength. She doesn't need anyone and buries her feelings as a survival coping strategy. She has allowed her feelings for Rick to break through that barrier. It's not just about getting beyond the tough exterior, but moving to a place where you can't imagine how you would survive without another person. That is why they had the whole conversation about being focused on more than just themselves.

Now, full disclosure, I've read all of the comics as well so my exposure to The Walking Dead universe goes beyond just being a fan of the television version.

S7 E13 Bury Me Here

IMPRESSED.

You never get to choose Richard, aka the real rat-faced pr***. His intentions may have been good, but execution, awful.

Morgan's inner struggle, suppressed no longer. Glad to see him deal with this struggle. Alas, will he revolt to old ways or still try to maintain some of what Eastman taught him a while back? The flashbacks, quotes and everything from Morgan's past was good to see in his own breakdown moment of uncertainty.

Dammit Benji.

Looks like Carol is finally on board.

I hope Daryl recovers from being thrown under the bus!

They have a lot of ground to cover in the next 3 episodes to leave us with a cliffhanger. Oceanside and the guns, Maggie and hilltop, Rick and Alexandria, and Rosita and Sasha going after Negan.

What was odd for me was Carol being hell bent and fired up (finally!!!!) going to Morgan to learn the truth about what happened in Alexandria, then it seemed that she didn't want to know after Morgan told her.

Morgan finds his inner self and kills Richard in front of the Saviors, (by the way, was there about to be an apology for killing Benjamin??) then repeats perfectly Richards speech to the saviors.

Will Morgan make it back to Alexandria or is he on a self destructive path, like Rosita and Sasha?

Carol helping plant veggies at the end has me thinking there could be romance blooming with the king.

I loved the scene with Carol and Ezekiel at the end. Unfortunately, I saw a spoiler early this morning before watching the show, and knew the kids was going to get killed.

Mentally, I've already written off Rosita and Sasha. I just want the final confrontation to start.

This is my one gripe about the show...slow filler or wind up, but then trying to cram too much into as few episodes as possible to advance the story making things feel forced rather than natural.

From the sneak peak it would seem Sasha and Rosita arrive post haste, infiltrate and have the opportunity to take the shot.

Daryl rouge ready to attack.

Morgan appears to have stayed at Carol's old place, but rogue as well?

Kingdom strategizing...but have they even acknowledged an alliance with Hilltop + Alexandria?

Oceanside..is interesting. A goldmine for sure, but with only three episodes remaining, I don't think they'd spend a whole episode of trying to persuade the women to join them.

Don't forget about the Junkyard Kids...possible alliance as well, but they seem more of a threat than anything.

With all that said...the Saviors are about to get hit from multiple directions, only thing is it's not calculated, therefore some main characters will surely die because of the missteps of others.

Not to mention, TWD likes to round up all of the characters in a centralized area for finales and split them up for premieres.

Junkyard kids ... have mixed feelings. 50/50 they join then again .... they need the guns from oceanside.

Agree with all especially your last two points. I think it might be Sasha and Rosita that go to Talking Dead's in Memoriam segment.

What has me wondering is that the hillside, Alexandria and the kingdom all have regular scheduled pickups by the saviors and Negan can pop in anytime anywhere. So just how is Rick going to get all communities united and a game plan in place without any of "I am Negan" minions catching on to it? Is this when Dwight redeems his self and Eugene steps up?

So many questions, only 3 hours of viewing left for this season to see any actual Negan takedown/shootout/downfall. Only Lucille knows.

The unfortunate thing is that regardless of what happens in the final episodes, it's almost going to be uneventful knowing that nothing is really going to happen to Negan if the spoilers are to be trusted. Everything is allegedly happening next season so the remainder of the season is just one huge buildup.

Unless they are trying to speed through the Negan threat like they did Teriminus, I'd suspect Negan to be around for at least another 1-2 seasons minimum.

Sasha seems more fueled than Rosita, Rosita just seems to be channeling her rage through Sasha. This I don't like because Sasha seems more hell bent on basically sacrificing herself, while Rosita seems to be teetering on the idea...like she still hears Father G's advice in her head or something. If anything, I think something is going to backfire and Sasha will get caught. Even though Negan was in the crosshairs, there are realistic things that could botch it before she even gets a shot off (glare from scope, wind, target moving, etc). What if she shoots and totally misses?! Or hits a different Savior.

Another thing that blows my mind is how reckless The Saviors are when it comes to surveillance...they can roll up to your doorstep guns drawn and loot your place high and low, but yet Jesus, Sasha and Rosita all managed to infiltrate their HQ compound without being caught (at least the latter we can assume will probably be caught by way of fate) ...nevermind the assault Rick led on the auxiliary compound.

The real challenge in keeping a villain around that long is making sure the viewers feel the good guys look like they have somewhat gained or won something along the way or accomplished something...if they are always being defeated or always losing, it becomes uninteresting. So even though main characters may die, hopefully there will be something bittersweet to this season's finale. 7A was heartbreaking, 7B has finally started to look up...but that only means things must be somber once again for the 8A setup.

Gotta love the cliffhangers. I just hope it's worth it. It'd be a shame if main characters die in vain. If anything, let Negan actually get wounded or grazed...something, anything! He shouldn't go into Season 8 unscathed...or uncaged should I say?

You and me both. I actually don't like the leaders character. She is very bland to me. That group reminds me a little of the group in the movie "The Omega Man". They way they talk and dress.

I enjoyed the most recent episode. It was great to see the end of the Richard story arc and the role that played in further developing Morgan's post apocalyptic moral crisis. Carol is also continuing to grow as we see her coming out of the isolation behavior she was using as a coping method. The dynamic with the Saviors is truly fascinating for me. The way the leader of the Kingdom's tribute group balances between being stern with Ezekiel yet not tolerating the abusive behavior of the long haired power tripping moron in his own group is so interesting.

Yep, it is clear that the Saviors have a sort of code of honor, and they are not interested in taking lives for the sake of it.
