I could easily say 70% percent or more are. The only American Idol fans I know who are male are on this forum. In my town, there are tons of fans, all girls or women and I live in a small town. To the guys, they are too "cool" to watch stuff like that. So if they want to watch Kimbo Slice on a fighting channel or some rerun on Alaskan fishing or Washington lumberjacks, they can be my guest.
Scratch that. I knew one AI fan who was male from Season 2 but that was years ago.![]()
Andrew is going home. He just doesn't get it. I think the other will be Aaron or Tim Urban. Tim did a great job tonight, but I think his past may haunt him. Aaron was good, but not as good as a lot of the other guys.
Mike is definitely safe. He's much better than I thought he was. What a way to end tonight's show. He's the only one who held it together from beginning to end with moments everywhere.
The rest of the crew had some bright spots but otherwise did things to potentially put them at risk. Todrick was the most improved, but I think his past performances may haunt him.
I was pretty surprised with Tim. Based on his past performances, I didn't actually think he can really sing all that well. He did quite well last night.
I cannot believe that Alex went home and Andrew stayed. That was a crime. Poor Alex. I felt really bad for him. Plus, he had a really unique voice.
Katelyn - she sang kind of flat a lot, so no surprise
Todrick - his last performance was pretty good, but he underperformed in previous weeks but I thought he would at least make top 12
Alex - I think he was starting to get better each week and he should have made top 12
Lily - I don't get this one, she should have definitely stayed and I could think of at least two girls who should have gone home who didn't
Only one of these four would have been ones I would have put in my bottom 4 of two guys and two girls. I think Alex and Lily had the most potential because they were on the way up by leaps and bounds. Top 12 contestants Casey and Andrew wowed us in Hollywood week and both peaked early and may both just keep getting worse each week if they even stay. The first guy to leave will either be Casey or Andrew.
The first girl to leave can be anybody except for Crystal, imho.
Let the games begin.
but talent doesnt mean squat now.
I would say dreads needs to watch out. Having Lily go home should be a warning, you cant just rely on your singing, you need to have a good personality and good look that voters can connect with. Crystal seems to be a member of the walking dead up there, mopping around, no smiles. I know something is up with her health and all but I think last nights results show she may be in danger.
For now, Katie Stevens is getting the pre-teen/young girl vote. No other way to explain it. She has yet to do one good performance and I can see most viewers connecting with her the easiest so I dont know how that will be when the guys and girls will be put together and everyone is forced to sing the same artist (rolling stones first up).
i dont think there is any natural run-away singer at this point. The top singers seem to have their niche followings, but I dont see that correlating to widespread loyal fans.
Crystal was the first girl safe last night. She's in no danger. We know you don't like her, but she isn't going anywhere. I predict the very first person going home next week will be a girl though, and the week after, and the week after. They just aren't good enough.
the order of when they are safe is not an indicator of their actual vote totals. American Idol would never make that information known. Instead, they order it to make it suspenseful - people who you really think are safe..are quickly told they are through...while two people who you really aren't sure of who made it..are paired together. Nothing is random with American Idol.
and dont be so sure of yourself. White hair girl was also deemed "not going anywhere" and boom.
I know I am not alone, but crystal has no personality whatsoever. I mean come on. This whole past week, I think she said 10 words (besides singing) and smiled 1 time. She will need more then singing to make it to the top.
Let's be clear- not one girl will come close to winning this year. But Crystal is the only one with a chance at all. She'll be just fine against the rest of the girls.
For the first time Aaron did pretty well. I underestimated him. He could be the surprise contestant this season.
Tim Urban sang an OK version of a Stones song and was gutsy and creative, but he obviously didn't know the Rolling Stones and he should have rocked it. He may go home tomorrow, but old folk like me don't vote.
This was the week I expected Andrew to be different and great. At least he got the different part and changed it up which is commendable, but he went in a worse direction. He will be safe because he showed range, finally.
I expected Lee to win over everybody tonight, but he seemed a little shy. But if he wakes up a little, he can be the one to beat. He has the Dave Matthews sound down.
Siobhan added a little personality to her repertoire which will keep her safe.
Katie, well, she's better than I thought she was and may be safe tomorrow. But based on her season so far, she could still get kicked off tomorrow.
im losing track of who is who, so I am attaching a photo of the top 12 and keeping it in this thread. Maybe I can keep the faces straight now.
Andrew and Lacey need to go home now. Lacey has been terrible for a long time. Andrew doesn't get it and never will. What a waste of a good voice.
Andrew has the talent, but still has no idea how big this competition is. His rendition of a high energy Stones song into a slow moving tune was a bad choice but at least he put down the guitar.
Casey's at his best without a guitar, and his usually good voice again got overshadowed by the guitar. Casey is a great and versatile guitarist, but he has to realize this is about singing. Randy has been an idiot telling Casey to showcase guitar playing. He's the best guitarist on Idol, but the backup band has a much better guitarist who is there for a reason. Casey played it way too safe like Simon said and I would rather send Casey home if from the guys.
Lacey hasn't put a big impression on me. Which one is she? Blond, shy girl or the redhead girl who is kind of shy? I will have to go to the site now to see her face. That's not a good sign.![]()
I want Andrew gone because he's wasting his talent. I can't stand to see that.
I agree. I've watched him on Youtube for the past two years or so before he went on the show and saw how good he was -- his audition and "Straight Up" have been his strongest performances. He doesn't need a show like this to get signed. He can do that on his own. He's got the raw talent.
He may go home tonight or next week at the latest the way he has underutilized his talent. We all know he has it, but he has to wake up.
Alex Lambert, who I thought didn't have anything, was the fastest evolving contestant from the top 24. Too bad he went home, too.
As for the girls, I really don't care yet until somebody there can put at least two good back to back performances. Crystal was pretty good last night but so so last week. She needs to smile more and has to realize second from being a singing contest, it's a personality contest. Looks come third, and musical instrument ability comes in at 4th or may not even matter in the end.
