American Idol Season Premiere TONIGHT!!

Ryan is sort of to blame for the shock. He rushed it right here at the end. Wasn't expecting it to all move so fast and then just spring out the person in mid-convo. I had to think twice before I actually realized what had happened. Oh well, I'm glad Kat's still in.
Eek! Totally unexpected. I thought Chris had too many fans to let that happen! I'm not exactly dissappointed because I don't like Chris, but I think Katharine deserved it more. I won't miss him though.
He does the same thing every week, and it's starting to get annoying. Vocally he is pretty solid, but he has never impressed me too much.
I think I just realized what it was...
It was the sun glasses! Chris got eliminated because of his sun glasses! I'm almost positive

This is probably the best thing to happen to Chris. Had he won, he'd be locked into the "American Idol" contract, which he'd probably hate. He will definitely get a record deal, and probably with more money and creative control than he would have gotten if he'd won.
As for the other three:
I'm a BIG Taylor supporter. There's a lot of hate for Taylor, but when he does a great performance ("In The Ghetto", "Someday", "Levon") you can't deny that he has some great soul vocals. Plus, he's different! You hear people sing just like Kat (Kelly Clarkson, Christina, Jessica Simpson) everyday, but you don't hear old school soul like Taylor sings. That's why he's never been in the bottom two, simply because his voice is extremely unique, which is something the radio needs these days. Taylor will definitely be in the finals.
If Elliott can pull off two more amazing songs like he did last night, he'll make it to the finals as well. At first I didn't like him, be he's been stepping it up lately, and I hope he can continue to do so.
Katharine....where do I begin. Could this girl have a bigger ego? You can just tell that she thinks she all that. Lately, she's been pitchy, flat, inconsistent, and just downright dreadful. On a positive note, she would be great.... on Broadway.... but not "American Idol".

Beyonce is more talented than Katharine could ever dream of being.
If Katharine could perform this song (youtube video) half as well as Beyonce I'd have vote for her in a second.

elliott deserves to win but i think the idol will be taylor, now that chris is out and chris's fans are more likely, imho, to go to taylor than to elliott or to katherine
fans are stuck on liking male or female singers at this point, and if taylor or elliott goes next week, the remaining male will easily beat katherine
if katherine gets voted off, it's hard to say which way her fans will go...elliott or taylor??
I'm sorry, but it's an embarrassment that Katherine is still in. She's been bad two weeks in a row, actually the whole time. She's a no-talent wanna be. I don't care if she's "pretty", she needs to GO. NOW. This is just more proof that people in this country have no taste whatsoever. Paris should have beat the crap out of her. Who's voting for her? Teenage boys? I really don't get it.

Yeah, Katharine deserved it, but I'm not gunna complain. This was Chris' only chance to get booted, I think, and I didn't want him to win. Katharine will go next, I think.

I was as surprised as anyone that it was Chris, since I was pretty convinced that he was going to win it all. And how about Chris' facial expression when Ryan delivered the news? Not a happy camper.
I'm feeling a lot better about Taylor's chances at this point, which is great, because he's the only one that I actually want to win. I suppose I'm going to have to start voting this week.
