LOL DUDE its a phone for goodness sake...
I think its safe to say that todays "cell phones" aren't really just "phones". It's a computer on the palm of your hand.

This is good for the iOS 5 but developers are still designing their apps (and games) to market to a bigger population and not for the powerful processors alone. So basically, apps are still made for the slower 3GS. Fast processors are just catered to spec who*res and that's it.
Your iPhone 4's will still function equally compared to the new phone 98% of the time. I know geeks would love that 2% nevertheless.![]()
Performance with the iPhone 4 has never been a problem.
Some of us feel like we know exactly what the iPhone "5" will be like:
iPhone 4S (N94)
- iPhone 4 case design (3.5" Screen), but improved internals
- CDMA and GSM in one phone, "World Phone"
- HSPA+ (at least 14.4mbps)
- 1GB RAM
- A5 Processor
- SGX 543MP2 GPU (Same as iPad 2)
- Assistant Voice Recognition

The sharks on Wall Street would immediately start circling Tim Cook if his first major product announcement was a dud like this.
Fascinating how the iPhone 4 is still the #1 one selling phone with the highest customer satisfaction rating. Clearly between the Antenna never working and the glass always being broken , all of those people are delusional with really, really tough skin.
That one really does boggle the mind. The two things do not make sense going together! I think it comes down to the cross-section they survey, and how they define satisfaction with a product vs. certain aspects that are intensely annoying - if people don't want to make calls on the thing, then hells ya satisfaction plus!! In fact I guess that's what does it - even though dropping reception comes at the drop of a hat and the design is not as good as the 3g/s, I would still probably claim satisfaction with the product overall myself!
It is quite funny actually, as just above, we all surely complain about the devices on a regular basis, but that really is quite removed from not being satisfied with them - humans are curious creatures.
Yup.
And I'd be shocked if any of the apps written in the near future (read: 8-12 months) will take advantage of this so as to not to alienate the legacy hardware in the iP4.
Big speed increase that you won't see any real benefit from for some time.
Oh, and good luck enjoying your fast graphics with a shattered glass back or glass screen because the iPhone 4S continued to use fragile build materials and refused to put a protective bezel around the phone to protect the edges from direct shattering impacts.
Lol, 3GS users claiming there's problems with a device they don't actually own or use then claiming those that do use it are lying to themselves. Classic. That one really does boggle the mind. My wife dropped her iPhone 4 from about 18 inches and the front cracked, she then dropped it from about 3 feet and the back shattered. I love the iphone 4, but it is fragile.
You shouldn't have an iphone if you are going to keep dropping it. I dropped my iphone once in 4 years. Your ihpne will break one day and it will be an expensive mistake, but I can say "Told you so".
It will probably be the best selling smartphone of all time. Unlikely anyone with any business knowledge will label it a dud.
I am sure it won't be as aspiring as all those android devices trying to reach gold record status

It's not half as annoying as trying to fathom why Apple continues to build phones out of glass (or, if they're going to insist on using glass, why they don't at least use a bezel to protect the edges -- the most vulnerable part of tempered glass -- from direct impacts that cause shattering).
It's $30 to replace glass (which, while cheap-ish, is still money out of your pocket), but the issue is that there's no good reason to use glass in the first place.
Yup.

It'll sell well because it's an iOS device, but you can bet your bottom dollar that you'll start to see stories questioning Apple's judgment about releasing the same phone 16 months after it's original release and wondering where the "wow" factor is without Jobs.

Yeah, but most people in this forum are more preoccupied with the shape of the form than with the vastly improved performance!! It leads me to believe that they would much rather get the new shape than a better phone!!
What's to be letdown about?? We are getting a BETTER Phone??
Or would you rather have less performance and a pretty phone??
This is a tool, not an accessory!!
