I hope they have an iPhone 5 (redesigned) if for no other reason other than the satisfaction that I won't have a same looking phone as the new one but slower and with an antenna issue
Performance with the iPhone 4 has never been a problem. Screen size has.
Wow, we're only one day away from the official announcement, and still NO ONE really knows what the iPhone 5 is going to be like.
Sometimes Apple managed to leak every little detail about their new products, and then sometimes like this time they don't give us a single crumb of information.
I have a 3gs. It lags, takes forever to get the camera app up. Takes cruddy pictures especially without fantastic lighting. Volume up/down buttons are sketchy. Headphone jack is unreliable. Dock connector is about to die (stuff has to be plugged in just right. I have to smash the home button to get it to register.
I want a phone that flows through the interface like water, gets to the camera app quickly and takes good pictures, even without fabulous amounts of light. I believe I will get all of that on tuesday.
This is in part why it doesn't matter whether or not they're changing the external design of the best looking phone ever (in my opinion, of course). It will be a beast.
Not that I'm eligible for an upgrade...
Yeah, but most people in this forum are more preoccupied with the shape of the form than with the vastly improved performance!! It leads me to believe that they would much rather get the new shape than a better phone!!
Yup.
And I'd be shocked if any of the apps written in the near future (read: 8-12 months) will take advantage of this so as to not to alienate the legacy hardware in the iP4.
Kudos for your great attitude. I hope you're right for the sake of Apple. Here's to a new redesigned iPhone 5 (lifts champagne cup)

"the iPhone 4 is so behind"
Tis what I keep hearing, that fact has little to do with hardware, if it is a update then there will be a camera, memory maybe, a new chip and more ram. Okay....what else does it need physically to be ahead of the game? I'm not talking about the way it looks because that's a cop-out ******** argument. All the real goodies are in the iOS, derp. So we need stereo speakers like the Surround? Or a built in kick stand?
If you hate it so much go to your android. Me I simply can't wait to get my hands on iOS 5 and use it day to day.

Needs a 9.7" screen
Lol, 3GS users claiming there's problems with a device they don't actually own or use then claiming those that do use it are lying to themselves. Classic.

You mean screen awesomeness has never been an issue.
I don't want a 58" 480i tv over a 46" 1080p tv. These bigger screens just further enhance the lower resolutions most those devices have.
Would you rather watch something in SD on an old 15" tv or in hd on an IPad?
kis said:While more speed is always nice and more megapixels for the camera can be great, the facts are:
- the current iPhone 4 already runs like butter (including games)
- the current iPhone 4 already has a camera that allows for A4-sized prints in good quality
- who gives a rat's a** if he or she can use the phone on CSMA and on GSM. Considering the costs for global roaming, nobody is going to use his or her phone on different continents anyway.
- voice integration is about as thought-after as video telephony. Google has had perfect voice integration for close to two years. And in this case, the technology and the implementation really are VERY good. Still, nobody uses it.
The ONLY area where the iPhone 4 sucks big time is the tiny screen - and that's the only thing Apple apparently isn't improving on.
If we look at Android's market share, releasing another iPhone 4 (especially after such a long time - we shouldn't forget that the current iPhone 4 has been on the market for what seems an eternity) while all other manufacturers are now producing 4, 4.3 and even 4.5 inch screens (and the SGS IIs with the beautiful 4.3" screens are selling like hotcakes), will be a major problem for Apple in terms of market share in the near future.
