TV no!

60 inches, yes!

He has the product wrong. That has to be the iphone 7.

Apple is finally listening to the "I need a bigger screen" crowd.

BTW: Can still get everywhere and use your thumb with the ring on it

Finally, an easier way to change the channel! I've had it up to here with pointing the remote at the TV.

You're funny. When it's pointed out that Samsung already has the device - you still try to assert that Samsung will be copying Apple. Keep living that dream.

According to the reviews, it's not a device. It's a camera that recognizes your hand. Supposedly, it works pretty well IF you have a good light shining on your hand. I have no idea whether this is great in practice; personally I like to sit in relative dark while I watch TV. So, while Samsung may have the basic technology, there certainly seems to be some opportunity to execute differently.

I will eat my hat if Apple releases something they won't be able to sell at their retail stores, which don't typically have the warehouse room to fit more than 1 or 2 60" TV's at a time.

delivered to your home by iVan, i have the hat ready for you matey.

iRing - Definitely not, at least not as described. It might be the name of software on the iTV or something that determines who's motions to track or something like that, but they certainly wouldn't make such a hard to lose device.

mini iTV - Maybe. Sounds like it's in the same vein as Wii U / PS4 controller - all the processing happens on the main unit, but I/O happens on the remote device. I'd imagine Apple could also release an iOS app that let's other iOS devices perform the same function.

60" is a bit too small for most living rooms. But it is Apple so they'll try to do a one size fits all TV, in which case 60" is a good average size.

Now the rumor has given Samsung plenty of time to copy everything and launch all the stuff first.

Clearly you can't be bothered to read the entire thread and/or a few posts above yours.

Never said otherwise. And certainly room in the marketplace for several vendors to offer competing products.

If you like Apple's TV so much, why don't you just put an iRing on and marry it..

Ya, i'm getting that joke in now before Leno grabs in in late 2014 and thinks its funny.

Why not? The main purpose of the stores is to advertise products. They can easily have a few of these on display and then offer some same or next day delivery to install the TVs... Apple wouldn't make customers go through such a PITA as walking around with a massive TV, getting it into your house, and hooking it up.

"Analyst claims"

Why does anyone, ever publish an article based on what an "analyst claims", especially about a company like Apple? "Analyst claims" means "someone who doesn't work for the company and has no authority and no connections to get any non-public information about them".

60" 4k television with an 'auxiliary screen /control"screen.
sure it can be yours for about $10,000.

Yeah and the boxes that iMacs used to come in probably take up a lot less room than a super thin 60" TV would.

In corporate terms this is sometimes known as leak or curved ball marketing ploy to distract your competitors. So worth publishing none the less.

wow - how about call it

iFail

as a staunch apple supporter i don't see this at my home.

i will not overpay for content.

There must be a bucket labeled "ass" (like a bingo ball/raffle spinner) that all these analysts go to when they need attention because they always seem to pull the most ridiculous things from in on a weekly basis. "iRing"...really?

And don't bother me with a 60" AppleTV unless it's Pioneer Kuro quality. I have the top of the line LED and it's crap compared to the Kuro my in-laws have in their living room.

Didn't Samsung have smart phones too, prior to Apple's 2007 introduction to the smartphone market?

You assert Samsung isn't copying Apple... Who's living the dream again?!
