Apple will be thrilled to have our fingerprints.... The tracking implications are a dream come true for the Cupertino Company.

I dare you to name one way they could track you with your finger print they can't do with the phone in your hand already.

I double dare you to name 1 way it would be a "dream come true" if they could. As a stock holder I would love to hear your theories on How would finger print tracking vertically integrates into their core competencies?

If your going to spout of nonesense, please, back it up

am i the only one who thinks they are fragmenting the line too much.

Nope... I started to think the same thing about a year ago ... This is what crushed Apple in the 90's and Steve had to be brought back in order to clean house... I'm also getting sick of "analysts" trying to drive the company... I give it two to three years and we will start to see the fall of a once GREAT product line.. IMO

Because they do the same thing.

Yet they don't as fingerprints are unique to one individual, passcodes can be cracked. Unless someone makes a "skin" with someone's fingerprint, puts a gun to someone's head demanding they unlock their device or cuts off someone's fingers, they're entirely differing methods of doing the same thing yet one is more secure than the other. No?

ON CONTRACT - if you buy the phone unlocked, it will cost you £529, about $800.

Ugh. However, you could buy it in the states off contract/unlocked and use a SIM in the UK, which would be cheaper. No? I do miss the U.K. though. Can I live vicariously through you? ;)

So what would fingerprint technology do? Replace the "swipe to open" sequence? Would it replace the 4-digit pin I have to enter each time? (mandatory Exchange account). My biggest gripe about using mobile devices is getting past all this crap. (Yeah, I know some of it is necessary but still...).

Oh... and I dislike the physical home button. It's awkward and positioned in an awkward place. I miss my crappy samsung slider.

Forgive me all... my estrogen levels are running high today so I feel like whining.

Oh my, the physical home button is fantastic. That is why I generally don't like android devices- the lack of such a feature.

Well, his post only reveals a little more about the poster himself.

Oh good. Please Apple release same size as 5 but with 128gb ! Heck they can even re-release the 5 but with the upgrades storage and I will buy it.

I'm hoping that's the other thing Apple has up its sleeve for the 5S "upgrade". It looks like offering two different screen sizes is off the table, at least this year. I want to get a 128GB iPad mini (with retina display) and hopefully a 128GB iPhone 5S. I would get a iPhone with a larger screen (4.5-4.8") if it was available as well.

Wake me up for the iPhone 6.

Fingerprint scanner does nothing for me since I don't even use a password. Just slide to unlock and I'm in.

Faster processor? Eh, the iPhone 5 is blazing now.

Better camera? Nothing wrong with the 5's camera. It shoots 1080p video and great stills in most lighting conditions. Better low light performance is ok, but not life changing.

For me to get excited, I need 4.8-5" (I've held a GS3 and can still use it with one hand), and an iOS 7 that is stocked full of useful UI improvements - better Notification Center, make the Spotlight screen useful, re-imagined Settings structure, better app switching, etc.

All that said, I'll still probably get the 5S...face palm:rolleyes:

I hear ya, but am going to try and wait for the iPhone 6.

Same screen size? DOA.

Apple needs to replace some of its upper management by a fresher crowd. The majority of people want bigger screens, and it has been like this for a very long time. Apple will eventually follow suit, which will be proof that the management needed to be replaced long time ago.

Well, no. People who want bigger screens tend to be screaming loudly, that's all. Reality is that everyone laughs when you hold one of these big phones to your ear to make a phone call.

Not sure where you are but in the US the 16GB iPhone 5 unlocked from Apple is $649. $579 if you buy it from T-Mobile.

He's in the U.K., hence the "£"* :)

*1 British Pound Sterling equals 1.54 US Dollar, hence 1 U.S. Dollar equals 0.65 £ (sucks for us U.S. citizens)

It might be more secure theoretically. But in real world use, the difference in security will be almost non-existent. What are the odds of someone you don't know guessing your passcode? Practically nil. Could a hacker manage to crack it somehow? Maybe.. But the average thief is not going to know any way of doing that. So in 99% of cases a passcode or fingerprint will do just fine at keeping someone out of your phone.

Considering how infrequently most people actually use the phone against your ear anymore I would say its not a big deal. Even when I make calls, they are usually on speakerphone or with headphones. I think this is the same for most users. The larger screen would be a big advantage for most other uses. Im fairly certain Apple is losing marketshare. It might not seem to be a big change, but I guarantee it would have people thinking that Apple is cool and trendy again.

Ive had several people figure out my passcode from watching me type it in. Thankfully they are my friends and Im not worried, but it is easier to figure out a passcode. This problem goes away with fingerprints.

You probably also think the federal government wants to expand background checks so that they can confiscate your guns?
