Or, and this is a WAG, maybe Apple has absolutely no desire to make two versions of the iPhone and ATT will have default exclusivity until 4G arrives (when ATT and V will have compatible networks).
Apple and Verizon are still slamming each other in commercials. Why do that if you are about to become partners?
With Apple doing yet another deal with ATT over the extreme faults in their wireless network.... it is clear that Apple is favoring wireless monthly income over their customers needs for a good wireless network.
Sorry Apple, your profits are more than big oil, its time to start opening up your products to more partners and stop with ATT exclusivity.
I had 6+ dropped calls yesterday.
I just don't get it... I have CONSTANT dropped calls daily. So much so that I have a cheap-o cell phone from Verizon with no data plan just so I can have a phone that works. I would love to have them tied to the same number so that they both ring... I know that is impossible, but that is how bad it is.![]()
What does the presence of a camera module have anything to do with mobile operator exclusivity? When Apple announces an iPad or Touch with a camera, you will know that exclusivity is over.
I am excited for the iPhone to be available on Verizon's network. At the same time I am scared. The reason that I am scared is that Verizon is known for disabling features on phone,s that are free on other networks, so they can charge you. Will Steve Jobs work this out so they can't continue this practice with the iPhone?
Enjoy your new iPod touch. If the iPhone doesn't come to Verizon this year I plan on waiting for an iPod Touch refresh. No way in hell I'm switching carriers.
This tells me that Verizon didn't try hard enough. I'm quite sure Apple talked to Verizon about the original iPhone and blew them off when they told them what AT&T was willing to give. I have no doubt the same thing is going on here for the iPad. It's pretty clear that Verizon doesn't care enough about Apple's products to want 85 million new customers. Okay, that's a stretch but not by much I'm sure.
You are about as reliable source of information as a two year old or this supposed analyst.Enjoy your new iPod touch.
The iPhone isn't coming to Verizon this year.
If Apple really were planning on releasing an iPhone on Verizon, there would have been a noticeable hiring surge of CDMA phone engineers by Apple. There has been zero evidence indicating such (it would have been duly reported by the tech media).
50% off? Wait, so otherwise the data rate would have been $30/month for 250 megs or $60/month for unlimited??
Well, then I am in good company here on MacRumors. You are about as reliable source of information as a two year old or this supposed analyst.
I really hope so. I'm eligible to get a new phone in October with Verizon and an iPhone would really help with things that I do. I know there are other smart phones similar to it. But unless the Droid has an iTunes application, then I'm not interested. It would be nice to combine the functionality of my iTouch G1 with my phone.
Let's hope this IS a false report.
