Analysts Dispute Supply Chain Conclusions of iPad Production Cuts

That's what I'm talking about, a new A5 across the board with 1GB RAM (as opposed to the current 512MB in the A5, which is rumored to be bumped up with the iPhone 5).

Oh, ok. Gotcha. There still will be the iPod Touch, though. I doubt that one will be bumped up from 256 M to 1 G, but 512 M is quite possible.

I know my desire to buy an iPad 2 decreases with each day, because each new day brings us closer to the inevitable ipad 3, whenever that may be. I've waited this long, I can wait another ___ months.

That's how I feel about both iPad & iPhone. There's this nagging feeling that iPhone 5 will be a bit buggy and a relatively short model run before iPhone 6. In addition there's more talk outside the forum about 6. This is only natural since the users who need a phone now can't be picky, nor can they wait.

Finally I have a very positive feeling about Tim Cooks ability to stabilize some of the wild rumors afloat as time goes by. Give it less than six months and there'll be a world of improvement as Apple becomes less polarizing.

Remember good things do indeed come to those who wait. And waiting right now is prudent & a real money saver.

The market is saturated, it's september, of course the iPad sales are slowing down.

The thing with the iPad is that, only rich people who are up to date with Apple released bought the iPad 2. But now that they all have their own, who's buying iPad 2s? Nobody.

In my "entourage", over the two first months of release, three people bought the iPad 2 because it's just been release. Then I never heard about someone buying one again (although I wish I could have one).

The iPad is not the iPhone nore it is a Macbook. It is a gadget that doesn't fill any need (like having a telephone, a music player or a computer), so only people with enough money can spend it in such a useless device.

If Apple cuts the price of the iPad 2 (which is not likely, because Apple as a strategy of never cutting prices) for thanksgiving and christmas, the sell will go up again, but then it will go down until the iPad 3 release

The average consumers barely knows about Windows 8.

The average consumer doesn't know there's a 2nd edition iPad - they just know there's an iPad. The average consumer won't even know when the iPad 3 is coming out nor the iPhone 5 until it's actually on sale because the AVERAGE consumer don't spend time on tech message boards.

Maybe you hang out with people who are tech savvy or are really into Apple products so much that they seek out news daily or even weekly. But these average consumers you mention are oblivious.

This may not have to do with a lowering of demand or price cut, although a price cut would once again kick the ipads competition to the curve.

This may have to do more with the problems arising from Samsung, since Samsung has been suing apple, even for pre-released products, apple knows its not wise to keep business with those who are trying to block them. It sucks but it is smart that apple is moving its manufacturing over to different places.

A price cut would be just as good :)

Guess what they said at the time when Apple had sold the first twenty million iPods. "Everyone who wants one has bought one". And by now Apple has sold about 200 million iPods, and they will be selling another 200 million over the next years.

The iPad 2 starts at less than £400. You really don't need to be rich to afford one. And it's much cheaper than any laptop (if you divide the purchase cost by useful life time).

Nobody except about 12 to 15 million people this quarter.
Only 2 iPads sold every second, almost nothing.

Think of all the poor people who have to get up in the middle of the night to buy iPads.
