Ouch. I threatened my household that their $300 iphone SEs (used) better last 3 years. I’m cheap. Its the price for me. I update every year but I have a hard time justifying the monthly price... I would not drastically change or improve my experience with the current iPhone.
they could have released a 7s and 7s plus which could have just added wireless charging
Something is unappealing about it at the price they’re asking. I went in two weeks ago to pick one up and just couldn’t get excited about it. Left with nothing but my 6s in hand.
Besides the newness, there are the actual improvements from what I had before. The new camera features alone are wonderful. I’ve taken photos with the X that would’ve been nearly impossible with my 6+.It feels new because you just bought it, it is new. I upgraded from a 6 a few weeks ago to a 7+. The X just doesn't stand out to me in any fashion reasonable enough to drop $1000 on it.
I wouldn’t either. I got the iPhone X, which is more than a phone.I’ll pay $900 for a phone, but there’s no way I’ll pay $1000 that’s way too much.
It’s designed for its core customer and that WILL spend more.

I can only speak for myself, I was planning on buying the new iPhone but the high price made me keep my 6S for another year. At the same time I realised that it is waste of money to buy a new phone every two years so I plan to keep my future phones for at least three years from now on. So there you go Apple, thats what you get with your high prices. But I am sure there are still enough people out there who will buy it even at these prices.
Face ID is fabulous and the notch is nothing troublesome to me after all. What saddens me is that the pwm flicker of the display means I can’t enjoy reading ebooks on my X. The flicker does not bother me too much, otherwise. I can play games and watch videos without too much strain on my eyes. But reading isn’t pleasant.I’m guessing it has more to do with lack of Touch ID and that notch. Those are my reasons for passing on the X.
I disagree. I think they only released the 8, to justify the huge price jump on the X.
The X could have been a straight replacement for last years 7 plus, with a small price jump (say 50 bucks)
Alongside this, they could have released a 7s and 7s plus which could have just added wireless charging
This is the new Apple strategy at play. IPad Pro 9.5 did the exact same thing - which again could easily have been an iPad Air 3 for the same pricing

The Note 8 can be had for 850 dollars including VAT in Germany. So color me confused but the Note is still in the 950 and 960 price range which with the 10 percent sales tax where I live pushes it to over 1000.00.
Yet the iPhone X which has all types of new camera sensors etc is priced too high? The only new change for the Note were the dual cameras which the iPhone 7 Plus already had.
I just see a bit of bias that’s all.

Pretty sure that with a little shopping around you'll easily find the Note 8 for less in the USA which underprices - VAT/ST included - German prices all the time.
Heck, get cheap gift cards for a store selling it and you're coming out ahead.
Applicable coupons will often be a thing too, Apple products are frequently exempt from coupons. They are in the same league as gift cards and resale price fixed items.
About the Touch ID: it's true that Apple hates bringing back tech they no longer believe in.
They always know better of course and as customer of the folks in Cupertino you're screwed as soon as the sole supplier of official hardware doesn't fancy your personal needs anymore.
One size fits most, usually... Hopefully.

Would the X Plus really be justified at $1,099/$1,249 ($100 increase) or $1,199/$1,349 ($200 increase)? I think a decrease for all models would be justified.Anyone surprised by this? I have the X and I like it a lot, but I don't think a lot of people will find the price tag to be justified. Now, if this is the X Plus, then maybe.
