That article is really just plan stupid. There are plenty of good criticisms of Android, but the article is just plain wrong in spots. For example, it's a stretch to call Android "free", providers need to license Google's map and market apps or provide an alternative. Or blanket stating that "Google is an adware vendor" is a very naive view of their business at best. The article reads like an ad for Symbian.LOL:

And no, I am not a fan of Google's "all your data are belong to us" approach.
It will take time, but I see Android taking an open source life of its own in the future, and that is not something that can easily be said of the alternatives at the moment.
