Go, Angela! Oh...It's Ahrendts, not Merkel... But she still promises, nonetheless.
Feels like she's making a lot of mistakes since taking over. The watch online only at launch, macbook online only at launch, no lines outside stores that many fans enjoy for new products, delayed back to school program etc
Because with the gift card they used to give you, you could purchase anything to your heart's content. A $120 Apple Music subscription is great, but not everybody wants to be forced to be subscribed to it.
She sends weekly videos to the apple store employees?
If I was working at the store I'd find that really odd/patronising.
Doesn't seem very 'Apple like'
Mistake is your arrival at such conclusion. @Quu didn't say that "any other way" of doing things is a mistake, he mentioned exactly things he believes are mistakes. So doing things in any way other than the way it's always been done is a mistake?
Oh lord. People are being "forced" to do something by being given something for free? Christ.
Lol, likely nobody can explain these things to you.
If you're dense enough to think that initial orders of Apple Watch was limited to online only because of a decision she made and NOT because of scarcity, then I doubt any amount of words could convince you of the intellect behind this hire.
Ms Arendts said:I'm sure many of you are thinking also 'but is there anything else for Back to School'? Well, I need you to wait until next week's video and I'll share a little bit more insight with you then.
I always thought Browett got paid a load of money for doing nothing, looking at the companies he worked for, it still makes me laugh that Apple thought he could be any good... ( he used to work for Tesco, ffsPretty sure I read about the same thing happening under Browett's disastrous reign, so it's not something she brought in.
As for the promotion, they seem to have cut back on free stuff, such as the 12 days of christmas, since people got all moany about the free U2 album. Maybe coincidence, maybe connected, who knows?
She was more than likely behind it. But, remember, if there's demand there's gonna be supply... just because supply is "limited" doesn't mean they can't make more.Wait, so why wasn't it a choice that Apple restricted the ability to purchase the watch to online only? Were no watches made at all? Are you saying she wasn't involved in the decision making that led the product being only available online? Do you think all of the little watches just refused to be shipped to the retail store?

As we noted earlier this week, Apple has yet to launch its annual "Back to School" promotion that in recent years has launched in early July and offered educational customers free $50-$100 Apple Store or iTunes/App Store gift cards with the purchase of a Mac or iOS device, in addition to the usual educational discount available on some products.
With the usual timeframe having come and gone and no signs of an imminent launch for the promotion, many have speculated Apple has decided to end the long-running program.

According to Consomac.fr [Google Translation], however, Apple retail chief Angela Ahrendts in her latest video message to store employees this week revealed that she will "share a little bit more insight" on the Back to School situation with them in next week's video.Ahrendts' comment does not confirm that the usual Back to School promotion will be launching in the near future, but the report notes her "enthusiastic tone" suggests the company will be offering something for customers.
Ahrendts is in Tokyo this week and recorded her weekly message from there, but the reason for her trip is unknown.

Who in the hell hired her???
She was more than likely behind it. But, remember, if there's demand there's gonna be supply... just because supply is "limited" doesn't mean they can't make more.
I think the online-only launches of the Watch and MacBook were mostly functions of low supply, which isn't her fault.Feels like she's making a lot of mistakes since taking over. The watch online only at launch, macbook online only at launch, no lines outside stores that many fans enjoy for new products, delayed back to school program etc
That would suck big time as they don't have any of the music that I listen to...I suspect that the promotion might be 12 months of Apple Music or something like that. It's probably just taking some extra time to get the deals in place with the record companies.
Ah, because some people think it is or should be actually makes it so? There must really be gold at the end of rainbows too then.
