And macrumors will be the first to report it!Just wait, it'll be on sale next Tuesday.
Maybe the guy that decided that an Gold Apple Watch would sell, now designed this.![]()
The braided design has a 35,000 bend lifespan, and each cable is partially assembled by hand and passes through Anker's 51-step construction process, much like other PowerLine cables.
I think this is different than that. I think this is unnecessary ostentation for ostentation’s sake. I don’t hate this, but it seems silly to me. A lifetime warranty doesn’t sound real impressive when the lightning port won’t be around for more than maaaybe 2 years. Does the person who buys this cable plan ro hold onto their iphone that long? If lightning was only a year or two old, i think it’s more reasonable, but it is close to its eol.People get upset about things they can't afford. And people get upset that others have more money than them. There's an extreme lack of comprehension that not everything is for them, there are different markets and products for different people. It's why so many people were angered about the Mac Pro's price while never intending to purchase it. "This thing I never needed is out of my price range, that's outrageous! How dare they!" Pride and ego supersede rationality and logic. I guarantee you there are plenty of people that drop money on these types of products without a single thought of the cost.
Uh...not really. First, no one is upset. Second, Anker isn't Apple. Had Apple designed this and sold it, maybe $100 would be the expected price, but it's Anker. Third, $100 isn't "unaffordable" for most of us. Would *I* pay $100 for a cable that does the same as what a $15 cable does just because it's got some unknown amount of *real* gold? Hell no. It's a cable.People get upset about things they can't afford. And people get upset that others have more money than them. There's an extreme lack of comprehension that not everything is for them, there are different markets and products for different people. "and after port-less iPhone rumors start""Hey Steven, when should we launch our $100 cable?"
"Let's wait until worldwide unemployment is higher than it has been in modern history!"
"Oooo, nice!"
But that's a little bit of my point. There are some people who can spend $100 on frivolous things. It doesn't matter if the port goes away in a month or two years. $100 to them is like $1 to you or I. So what you find silly because of the price, is not the same for someone else.I don’t hate this, but it seems silly to me.
So, um, you don’t think toilet paper actually has a use?I bet you spend more than $100 a year on toilet paper. And you just flush that down the toilet.
These cables actually have a use, so ergo... much better to buy a $100 Anker Lightning cable than necessary Toilet Paper.
