people need to mention if they are listening to music. I can say for sure anyone with over 9 hours was listening to music.

You're a freak of nature. The only way I'm doing 26 miles is if I'm behind the steering wheel.

LOL, thank you!! I get that a lot and that´s what keeps me going, my next goal is an ironman 70.3, so yes, somewhere along the way I must have hit my head with something. Had anyone told me last year I was going to run a marathon I´d have shut them up and turn back to my playstation.

On a side note, any ideas to increase battery?, currently I close all apps but nike, dim the display, turn wifi and Bluetooth off.

Does reduce motion helps at all?

Am I doing something wrong, lol.

my usage pattern yesterday consisted of probably 45 minutes of music. my main usage is email on the device.

I agree that comparing these is apples to oranges. listening to music for 9 hours with the screen off will take very little power versus email and web usage, etc.

my parallax is left on, btw.

I like to keep some apps open, I normally dont run a lot at a time. Reduce motion? Where is that option?

After reading an article, I shut off Air Drop (wouldn't use anyway, texting is just as easy), and frequent locations (which is creepy as is), and now my battery life seems to be MUCH better, just very slightly worse than with ios6.

Count me in the number of folks agreeing that signal is a major factor on battery life. During the work day I turn off LTE and my 5 fluctuates between 1-3 (mostly 2) bars/dots of 3G and even drops to 1x sometimes. I can make it through an 8 hr day depending on how much I actually use it. At home when I'm on wi-fi or when I'm out and about on LTE I'm good for 24 hrs or more.

Not at all happy with my iPad mini battery life after installing IOS7

Rather posting specific times, since we're all using different apps, networks, etc. I'll just say that my battery times on my iPhone 5 (and my older iPad 2) so far are equal to or better than they were before. I did notice the phone was lower for a few days immediately after updating. I assume this was some of the newer services caching up data and such. After that 2 or 3 days, things have been great.

No complaints here too. Switching notification off facebook messenger improved a lot, no music at all, all browsing on wifi, mostly get 7 hours this is exception though.

Also very happy with my iPad 2 battery. Will be getting the new iPad but quite surprised how well it's running iOS 7.

How to Turn Off Facebook Notification?

I assume one way that should improve battery life would be to minimize the number of apps in Background App Refresh (Settings > General > Background App Refresh).

I keep locations services off until I need it and then turn it back off. And I turn off push email too. I can always check email manually when I want. I think it would also help to keep wifi off if one is not near wifi such as when jogging or when driving.

Essentially you want your phone to be doing as little as possible when you are not using it.

Though very few apps that i use support background refreshing, I have the whole thing turned off. I'm not a huge fan of my device doing things in the background all willie nillie without me giving the executive order! :D

Something is wrong here: I can't reach 5 hr with my iPhone 5.

Battery was absolutely flawless with iOS 6

I am getting fantastic battery life, even better than iOS 6. It also seems like the battery life has been improving on each charge cycle since I installed iOS 7. I live in a cellular dead zone and never get more than 2 bars of 4g or 3G and a lot of the time only 1 bar. I do mostly email and web surfing with some occasional texts. I have reduce motion on and background refresh off, along with Bluetooth. For location services, I only have it on for a few apps such as maps and weather

FYI. I just did an upgrade when I installed iOS 7. No restore or backup

I've been getting either the same battery life as IOS 6 or better. No complaints here and I didn't restore as new. I just restored from IOS 6 backup

I'm very happy with my battery life.

Overall, numbers don't matter as everyone has different uses.

I know with the iPhone 5 I'd need a recharge towards the end of my work day. Now I can make it all the way to bed time without needing a charge. I'm happy.

This is what I average. Going to restore my phone from a backup again. Going to see if that helps at all.

Had very bad battery life originally on iOS 7. Roughly 4-6 hours. I did ota update. Anyways I did a restore from computer as I was fed up in DFU and didn't use any backups after (sucks I know). Seems to be much better now.

iOS 7 is great on my iPad 2. Battery life is kinda great. But on the other hand my 4S dies in like 4-5hours...
