I had to do a clean install of 7 to get the battery life to be good. Now its better than it was on 6.1.3 on my launch day iPhone 4.

So while I did turn off a ton of stuff like Push for all Mail, Location services for system functions, Popular near me, Limit ad tracking On, etc.etc. I am seeing really great battery life, my iPhone 5s lasting from when I unplug it in the early AM to getting home in the late evening. I presume this will change as I keep adding more apps, but for now it's consistently lasting through my day!

I don't know if this is good battery life indicator

Great with my 5S. Upgraded from 4S and this one has much better battery life. Web browsing, email, text, message boards, few photos and sharing.

I really can't wait for the 5S to launch in my country...... Really...

It's an amazing upgrade from 4S to 5S, you will love it. I did have to exchange the first one due to some notification center issues but the new one works perfectly and is an amazing device.

How can that even be POSSIBLE? How can you get ELEVEN hours and still have HALF of your battery life left while I can get SIX hours of usage to drain my phone?

I have no idea. This phone has been great on battery since I got it. Virtually all that usage in on wifi. But other than that I use it for general things. I'm not watching video, streaming live, playing games, or any other huge battery draining apps.. just the routine stuff..

Same here man... I get 6 hours

That's amazing. This is by far the best usage I've seen since I've had iPhones.
Also, this is my 2nd 5S and the first one wasn't this good. Must have just gotten lucky and got on the high end of the averages.. I've been on the other end too...

For all of you claiming 8, 9 or 10 hrs of usage, just a question: do you have iCloud Safari sync ON or OFF ?

I'm suspecting a strange behavior with safari constantly trying to sync between my Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, MacBook) that drains the battery when in poor network coverage.

Are you on a CDMA provider or GSM provider as it has been proven that CDMA uses more battery and is less efficient than GSM in the same poor environmental conditions? It is the nature of how CDMA ramps the power chip coupled with the inefficiencies of the chips themselves. Although they are getting better with each release.

I'm on gsm (Europe) ...
The point is my iPhone 5 battery was absolutely ok with iOS 6 and now it's crap with iOS 7.
I love iOS 7, much more than any previous release, but right now I need to use my mophie battery pack in the middle of the day, while before I used it only late in the evening on a particularly long work day.

I'm getting positive results now after fully drain out and charged it overnight, turning off stuff suggested in this forum, just light LTE browsing, Bluetooth audio streaming with screen is off, check emails.#

Sorry, don't want to be rude but I think you cheated on us: no way you can reach 14 hrs using an iPhone browsing the web and checking email.
Maybe if you just listen to music with screen off ....

iPhone 4, two years old (August 2011). Not bad, I think. I have location services off but for camera and find my iPhone. Background app refresh is off. In this test, I used iPhone with wifi on and 3G on for viber (about 2 hours), phone talk (1 hour), iMessage, app download, web browsing, etc.

LTE seems to be the problem for me

I find that LTE seems to be the battery killer. Whenever I'm at home connected to wifi my battery life is awesome. So on the weekends it lasts for all of saturday and mostly all of sunday but when i go to work i seem to lose up to 10% just on a one hour commute where im mostly sleeping and not using the phone at all. And i tend to have to charge the phone midway through the day as well.

Although another reason could be that i get more notifications during the week then on the weekends but not enough to justify the extremely quick drop in battery.

After another day with scarcely 4 hrs of usage (16 hrs standby) I tried the last chance: restore and setup as new phone.
Downloading apps and music right now ....

I would have left the apps off for a few days and run it without to verify if it is the device and not an app that is going rogue, as could very well be the issue.
