I'd get the SE immediately, if it only had 4.7 inches. Its design is pure beauty in my eyes.

I'm too used to the bigger screen. Great specs at a good price but I'm more likely gonna upgrade to the 6S than SE.

Another 16GB iPhone... Apple has some major storage identity issues especially with the iPad Pro skipping 64GB too.

Apple upgraded the Touch ID sensor SIGNIFICANTLY in the 6s. Much, much faster and much more accurate. The sensor in the SE is the same first generation Touch ID sensor.
How do we know? I didn't catch that. Are we just assuming it's the old one since they didn't specifically mention that it's the new one?

Nope. It's on the specs page.

I'm looking at the specs page and it doesn't mention anything about the Touch ID sensor other than it's a Touch ID sensor.

And honestly, I don't really care about the 1.2 MP front-facing camera... I'm used to it on my 6+ and selfies are stupid anyway. :p

Second-generation fingerprint sensor built into the Home button

Fingerprint sensor built into the Home button

Darn. Not what I was hoping for, but again not really an issue... Touch ID has always been virtually flawless for me on my 6+. All in all, this looks like a definite winner and I hope this isn't another one-off thing like the 5C.

TouchID was fine on my 6 (very bad on my 5S but it was probably faulty..) so I don't mind going back to first gen TouchID.

I also hope this will get a yearly refresh, every March would be nice..

Yeah maybe it's improved somehow..well one can hope

Is 2 GB of RAM a possibility on this phone? Do we have any confirmation or is it up for speculation?

Because if it is, I'm buying out my contract ASAP when my carrier gets them in stock.

It wasn't announced but it also wasn't announced on the 6s as I guess Apple doesn't find that important . It had to be investigated on the 6s before we knew so it could be a little while.

Yes but that still doesn't mean it is the first generation sensor.

It mentions it on the 6s because that in an update from the 6, so apple want you to know that the 6s has a better sensor than the 6.

But the SE is a new phone, on the tech specs page it isn't comparing it to a previous model so doesn't need to mention if it is second generation. So they are not comparing it with a previous model and might assume people will just know it is second generation so haven't bothered to mention it.

I could be totally wrong though, i think it would be stupid of Apple to use the first gen sensor when they are trying to push Apple Pay.

I think they are doing it for the 1st-time buyers. And I think this edition of the iPhone is going to pull in millions of folks who are brand new to Apple. It's just market strategy.

I personally believe that you are wrong on this one.

To actually answer the Thread Starters question, Yes, I'm getting one as soon as my carrier gets it!
My current phone is a first gen. 5, which means it's pretty old in iPhone years.

I'm getting pretty excited to be able to easily text with one thumb again. Can't do that comfortable on my 6. Now just to decide between gold or rose gold...
EDIT. Decided in gold. Hopefully will be getting a 64GB Gold SE!
