Its absolutely unacceptable that there is even a single apple watch series 2 in best buy stores when they havent even filled a single preorder.

Target: shipments already going out some getting it as soon as tomorrow
T-mobile: people who ordered today are already getting shipping notifications
Apple: Preorders that had Nov Delivery Dates are getting shipment notifications now.
Best buy: no updates... no deliveries... still claims that the item has not been released yet.

I understand how Best Buy should not have all the blame. But they sure as hell deserve almost all of it. Giving 1000 different answers on something they mislead all who ordered the product. "GET BY - 9/16/16" more like never

I'm NEVER purchasing an item like this from Best Buy EVER again. No inventory until the 28th?

Why don't you order from Apple then? Is the 3-7 week wait better?

At least Best Buy is making good with a credit and a ship date that is about a week away. Could be worse. The story is the same with the iPhone 7 + preorder , and all the carrier threads are full of people swearing off their carries.

This is a simply supple and demand, and Best Buy is completely reliant on Apple. Period.

I did order from Apple, and I don't believe this all Apple's fault. Did you get the email from Best Buy that quoted delivery on 9/16?

Honestly, I don't remember.

If it isn't a supply constraint, what is it? Maybe that was the quoted date from Apple to Best Buy, and then it got pushed back. It seems like no one is getting their watch shipped yet, from
Best Buy, which would indicate they aren't getting there stock from Apple.

Mine is still sitting on 28th after being bumped from release day for Series 2. They are not going to get them earlier so I haven't even bothered to look at my account. I know they got my money already and I got a 50.00 gift code to use, while I wait.

Just as an FYI, I was able to walk into the Best Buy store in Costa Mesa, CA and purchase an S2 42mm Space Grey last night (around 8PM), albeit not without some back and forth with the sales person.

I used the strategy that others have recommended of clicking on the "Pick Up Today" tab and changing the store until one in my area showed the model I was looking to purchase. As has been mentioned there is no way to reserve the watch online, and in the case of the S2 42mm SG (at least of of last night) there wasn't even the option to pre-order.

The two stores in my area that showed the S2 42mm SG were the Costa Mesa store, and the Downey store. Since I'm in Orange County I opted for Costa Mesa.

When I arrived I spoke to the two sales people hanging out in the Apple area. Both were adamant that they didn't have any S2 Apple Watches in stock. One even said he'd turned 3 people away earlier in the day and had just checked "the back" a couple hours prior. I persisted and after a couple minutes one of the sales people mentioned that they had just received a truck and he'd check one last time.

After a few more minutes he came back out to the sales floor and said something along the lines of, two hours ago we didn't have any, now we have a bunch. From that point it took all of about 3 minutes to finalize the transaction and leave.

For the record I have no idea what "a bunch" means, nor which configurations they had/have but I thought I'd relay the information here if anyone was in the Orange County, CA area and looking to pick one up.

Lastly, I was a very earlier adopter of the original Apple Watch. Having been a 'watch guy' most of my life I was excited about the possibilities of finally making the leap to a 'smart watch'. I purchased the stainless steel and poured close to another $500 into bands. Unfortunately the experience left me feeling as though the Apple Watch, specifically WatchOS was an incomplete product. It simply felt rushed. After only a couple months of use I sold it, and assumed it would be a very long time before I was willing to give it another go.

I'm happy to say the Series 2 is a completely different animal. The OS feels so much more refined and the speed is night and day. If you're on the fence, don't hesitate.

Well, the app was accurate!

Walked into my neighborhood Best Buy when they opened at 10 AM. I approached a guy in the Apple area and he said they didn't have any Series 2 and weren't expected any for a few more days. I asked if he minded double checking the stock and he said no problem. He typed the SKU into the computer and sure enough, the computer showed that there were three 42mm Series 2 Space Gray Aluminums in the store. He went and pulled one and I was in and out in less than 10 minutes.

As a bonus, I used the $50 gift card that they gave us for the delayed preorders. Oh, and of course I cancelled said preorder as I was walking out of the store.

app is 100% accurate... walked into best buy this morning said the app was showing stock for series 2 aluminum space grey and that I would like 2 of them. Employee went to check and came back with 2 boxes.

I wish some of the stores by me had a S2 SS in stock.

F BestBuy, i ordered the watch at Target this morning with overnight delivery and just got shipping information. Unfriggin believable.

The mobile App doesn't show any S2 in stock at BBs anywhere in the state of Wisconsin from what I've seen. No way I'm going to call all of them. Guess I'll just wait...

I called my local Best Buy earlier today and they didn't have any in stock (and haven't received any yet). However, he said that his system was now letting him get Watches shipped to the store that would be available for in-store pick up by this Friday (23rd). I went to the store to complete the order, and just got an email from BB letting me know that the Watch has shipped to the store and will be ready for pick up on Friday. We'll see if it actually happens... Apparently I was the first person to do this at my store and he was the first employee to discover it.

The Best Buy's around my house now have numerous Series 1's in. BB better be shipping soon.
