The cases being made in China would make a lot of sense as to why they refuse to post real pictures of the cases when they are supposed to be done already.

Yep, maybe thats true. They just cancelled and refunded my orders no questions asked… as Alex said it probably hints that they're not close to being finished. If they were I'm sure they would have said it would be shipping imminently. Today was a full 4 weeks since my order date.

Told them I wanted to cancel my order. They told me the case will be shipped out by Monday. Told that if it doesn't I want a full refund.

Perfectly reasonable request. Hopefully their hype matches their product. If not, this is the most affordable option for return I've found.

Still hope it works out for you guys :) if they get delivered and look like the renderings they will be great.

Honestly, I think they're just a small company that's been overwhelmed.

That said, whomever is responsible for their marketing, and particularly their photography, needs to rethink their approach.

I was also considering one of their iPad cases, but their site photography mostly treats them like background decoration, except in one photo, so it's hard to tell what they're really like.

I'm not really interested in ink stamps, boxes, and glue application. I'd like to see the product, first and foremost.

Of course, I can contact them to ask if they have any other photos (sound familiar?), and hope for an answer, but making customers do what should be unnecessary work is really a turn off.

Yep they may just be overwhelmed, but they've just done so many things that make absolutely no sense -- like two weeks ago they lowered their shipping dates for cases from the original 3-4 weeks down to 2-3 weeks... And meanwhile none of the people whom ordered 7 weeks ago have had their cases shipped yet.... why lower the dates and put more pressure on yourself when you haven't even delivered to the first preorders yet? Just seems they are clueless -- that and the fact they constantly make excuses.

Gah... Calypso was my plan B after reading reports that the Vaja cases didn't have a "lip" to protect the screen (I don't usually put my phone face down, but knowing it's there is somehow comforting).

Now I'm kind of stuck as to which case to pick up. Vaja lacks the lip, Calypso doesn't seem to be shipping, Noreve interestingly has a lip but has cutouts on the corners (so the corners aren't 100% covered), and Piel Frama for some strange reason has really bad/tacky looking leather.

Any other premium-ish leather case brands I've left out?

I'm in the exact same position -- I always bought cases with a lip on the front just incase I dropped it on the screen side. Got the Vaja Grip -- no lip -- then ordered Calypso -- and the company never delivered

Vaja should have the "Grip Silver" for sale next week. Im patiently waiting to see if they add a lip on the front, the case looks like it has a lot of metal on the side so maybe they will redesign it from the original? Dunno.

Yep, I have to go with you on that. It certainly wasn't the case a few years back when I bought an iMagnum for my 4. The workmanship and styling were just amazing. For years, Piel Frama stuck with the smooth-grained leathers. When the pebbled-look became popular, they started offering textured skins which look cheap, IMO.

I'll say this though, their CS is above reproach. I bought a folio case for my iPad 3 from cases.com. When it arrived, there were a number of defects which should have never passed QC and they gave me a hard time about returning the product. I emailed Piel Frama directly with pictures and they immediately dispatched another iPad case, no questions asked. I offered to send the defective one back to Piel Frama but Angélica, their PR person, wouldn't hear of it.

You may consider HardGraft.

HardGraft is amazing but calypso seems the way to go if you are looking for a thin case like the cabrio.

I am now considering the paris glory but I carefully wait for pictures and even more for opinions.

Have you received any shipping notifications yet? It is already 3pm over there so I assume it should ship for you within the next hour or two. Unless they are once again lying about the status of our orders to prevent us from canceling.

I was told that my Cabrio case will ship out early this week today, otherwise my plan "B" case is on its way. If I don't receive shipping info by Thursday I will need to cancel.

I realized the cabrio case seems to have black borders, even in paris glory. I am not sure it will fit well with white faced phones.

I just looked at HardGraft - and while they are nice, they aren't really "cases". I saw a lot of pouches/sleeves/etc. but no cases.

As I've mentioned, the Cabrio (from Calypso) and Grip LP (from Vaja) are almost exactly what I'm looking for... but both have their own problems!!! One (Calypso) is looking like Vaporware and not shipping. The other (Vaja), decided that having a lip to protect the iDevice when face down was a bad idea.

I might just give up and grab a Spigen or something.

I am in the same boat, but my main concern about vaja is that it seems a bit bulky. I can be wrong but I can not find a picture of the grip near an apple case.
I really want a case but I may go for a sleeve if I will not find anything that fits my tastes. Joli, hard graft and knomo make amazing products.

Hey, while typing I realized that knomo also makes a case. I do not like it, but it is here if you want to take a look: http://www.knomobags.com/uk/iphone-6-plus-leather-snap-on-case-black.html/

The sleeve is much better IMO.

Yeah Hard Graft stuff is very nice, Kill Spencer is great as well. Really with both of these guys would make some real cases that attach to the iPhone (Vaja or Cabrio style). If they did they would definitely be some of the best around.

Prior to me cancelling, Manca from Calypso guaranteed my cases would ship by the end of Tuesday... So we shall see if anyone's go out tomorrow -- unfortunately I'd bet against it at this point. This company has proven to be completely bogus and one of the most deceiving that I've seen. What other company posts pictures of fake DHL bags and pretends they're shipping cases?

Already told Manca to cancel my order yesterday. Yet to receive a reply.

I fear the DHL bags are the only legitimate thing in this company.

What stinks is that I really liked the design of the Calypso Book; top and sides are covered, only a small area on the bottom is exposed. The Vaja Agenda is beautiful with the exception of a lot of phone showing.

So I'm left with buying a grip-type case and screen protector, a folio with too much phone hanging out, or a pouch.

Tried canceling mine a week ago with no response back yet.
I was forced to open up a claim with Paypal.

Wow man, I got a little bit of the run around but two emails later I received my refund in about 24 hours

I think my key words in the emails were for them to pass my number on to another customer and that I would rather they refund my money and not have to spend I don't know how much shipping it back to Slovenia or wherever

Hi Knliebe,

This is getting a bit out of your hands and those are some strong words that you are sharing here.

You did not request to cancel your order a week ago. You did this 15 hours ago. We are refunding your order as we speak. There was never a question if we want or don't want to cancel and refund your order. You never said that you want to cancel it. We have even encouraged you multiple times and told you that this is an option if you don't want to wait. We were always clear about that.

All our products are designed and handcrafted in Slovenia in Europe by our craftsmen. Due to extremely high demand we were flooded with orders and we are working hard on bringing down the waiting line.

  • You placed your order on 2014/09/21 clearly knowing that we ship in 3-4 weeks. Your order is 1 week late. We have apologised for that and we have described why we are late to you and all our customers multiple times. We are doing everything to ship more and more cases every day.

  • You have sent 35+ emails to us before Oct 27th and we were always communicating back in the quickest manner.

  • On Oct 27th at 15:27 CET you said: if the case will not go out that day that you would like to cancel your order. We wanted to tell you that this won't be happening, because there are other people before you. Before we were able to answer, you have sent another email at:

  • On Oct 27th at 19:44 CET: that you are giving us 12 more hours.

  • 3 hours later: you have opened up a paypal dispute.

  • On Oct 27th at 22:26 CET: you have sent another mail cancelling your order for the first time.

  • the next day On Oct 28th at 13:32 CET we have canceled your order and refunded your funds.

I know that you would have liked to receive your CalypsoCase the same day that you have found out about us, but this is just not possible and this will not change despite what you put out there. There are people waiting before you and we are express shipping as our products are made.

I am very sorry that you won't be able to cover your iPhone in our beautiful CalypsoCase. Maybe some other time.

Best
Ales Ruter, CalypsoCrystal
