True, my 1.3Ghz Space Gray and my wife's 1.2Ghz gold are both scheduled to arrive on the 8th. Her MacBook Air broke down last week so I wouldn't mind getting hers a little earlier. :)

They are actually scheduled for May 8-15 but I've never had an Apple delivery that was not delivered on the first day of the date range.

Sad, but hopefully you'll get is earlier!

I sold my rMBP 13" late 2013 so I could buy the new MacBook but didn't know that this launch is so worse with delivery delay...now I am going to college with an old iPad #

We just have to need patient, but that sometimes not so easy

We seem to be in uncharted territory with this Apple release, so I get the sense that this might be the first time that they deliver on the later date of the range.

Hopefully, we won't get notifications of the dates being pushed back.

This release has made me re-evaluate how tied I am to the whole Apple ecosystem. I just wish that they had better competition.

The Apple store in Geneva (and apparently also Zurich) has display models for the MacBook with Swiss keyboards, so apparently they have actually manufactured at least a handful of European MacBooks. It's still pretty surprising to see no update whatsoever for -anyone-. I checked my last couple Apple pre-orders (retina iPad mini etc) and it was 10 days from preparing for shipment until it arrived at my door, meaning it'd have to change status... yesterday for it to make it at the early end of the date range.

Is the first wave of European deliveries due to start next week? That being the case the status should be changing to "preparing to ship" very soon for some of you.

Mine is in the second wave so still some time yet to wait.

The Preauthorisation on my debit card has expired - so I guess they are not coming anytime soon. Tomorrow is the last day that Apple can ship to get to the UK in time for the first delivery date (8th).

Pre-authorisation expired (I think) as well. Was authorised on the 22nd and the other day it disappeared and came back into my account. Still sitting there!!!!

Spare charger and USB-C cable were dispatched today, so I hope the MB won't be too much longer.

Don't get me started on my 42 SG SBS apple watch :-(

Preparing for Shipment seems to be somewhere part way in the BTO cycle. BTO is typically three days. One day for shipment in China, two days to get to EU clearing location, one day to get to Syncreon next day to final carrier, out for deliver next day. Remember that May 1 and May 9 are holidays.

Never seen it any faster than that.

Sorry.. cannot count should be May 14 is holiday - Ascension

----------

Actually, I think 1st to 3rd of May are holidays in China. Not sure where in the world the 9th May (a Saturday) is a holiday.

Good point.. and I forgot 4th in the UK is also a Holiday.

----------

As a test: Just placed an order for a BTO MBP. Delivery in UK quoted as:
08 May, 2015 - 11 May, 2015. So - as Apple never deliver late.... they all need to move to Prep for shipping tomorrow. How exciting is that!

True, but I'd be surprised now if any of us was in line for a delivery quite that soon.

By the way, Ascension Day may be a public holiday in some European countries, but sadly not in the U.K.

Well, let's hope they do! :)

Just before me, by about 10 minutes or so.

Just noticed that the pending charge has disappeared from my credit card after a week. Must have expired. Hope it doesn't cause a delay.
