I can make the counter argument that plenty of people purchase phones that don’t ‘flaunt them ‘and they strictly choose the color based on what they _like_. Let’s not over exaggerate over a color.

I still wouldnt think a single guy would choose to paint a room pink over grey. or get a pink car over gunmetal grey. I think colors are different for genders just as kids start liking colors as a young age. ive always been into dark colors and red just something about red that draws me in.

Yes, this. I mean im a guy and like the gold but if majorirty of people i know is gonna make fun of me with "oooh! Thatz a great phone man, but... Couldnt you find any more girlie? Lol-around party!", and i know they would so it's better to prevent such situations imo, i dont have time fir that. If the gold is my fav color i probably wouldnt mind what ever anyone would say.

I agree 100%. The gold looks beautiful.
However to be honest, Gold was my preferred, but I would have taken any other color as well. Availability was more important to me than color. I use a Speck case anyway and with the new screen, not much of the color will be visible.

Yeah, I’m kinda hesitate because of other people’s judgment as well. A chick at work laughed today because I said “if the XR wasn’t a downgrade I’d get it because I love the red, it gives me Ferrari red vibes” and she laughed. I live in Europe, and people are more stereotyping than in America where it’s cool for guys to wear pink and purple, here you become laughable for it.

You should really work on your self-confidence a little more and not feel judged when liking something you enjoy. Remember, your own life, your own choices, nobody else can own your life other than you.

Why so extreme? Was i extreme? In some arias of life, other ppl opinions matters, even about more or lees private tastes. Thatz all im saying here. And nothing is black and white.
Owned almost all iPhones and never even considered getting a gold one. Went for the gold Max this year. I was really impressed after seeing it in many press videos online. The color seems to lean more towards bronze than gold and the shine of the stainless steel on the sides gives the phone a very elegant look.

I went the same way with gold. Had space gray pre-approved but changed it to gold during the pre-order. It looks great from hands-on videos, and if I want a change I’ll throw a case on. The fronts are all black so no big risk there.

I went for gold because it’s finally a gold coir iphone with a black front. I like how the black screen edges round off into the gold band. The particular color gold seems a little darker which I like. In photos, the gleaming glass front and gold bands look like one piece yet they’re different materials which is just stunning. I like that aspect of my space gray X too. The back is appealing to me too. When the gold 8 came out I really liked the soft blush tone of the back. This is really a beautiful phone to me. That said, I get tired of the same thing after too long. Luckily I can just throw it in a case and anyway in 11 months I’ll be gearing up for the “iPhone XS+1 Max(squared) Folding Holographic 7.2” in Deep Black” which will start at $1,500 for 32gb

would you prefer a darker color gold with more pop then the current color? I know we are only forced into buying one color but I think id like the gold to be less muted. its almost like a weird silver iPhone back(that off white) mix with hints of gold.
