Any point going from a 6s+ to a 8+ ?

I've had the 6s+ for 2 years. I've been talking myself out of it since the keynote.

Well.

If you want wireless charging, a slightly faster processor, and a slightly better camera, then yes.

If you don't care about those things, no.

When you put it like that, I'll stick with the 6s.

edit: You are probably referring to 7 to 8 but still...

I feel it's enough for an upgrade to me. Any little thing that the last phone doesn't have that the new one does warrants an upgrade for me. The processor and dedicated GPU is enough for me. Wireless charging and the other small things are a bonus. Performance on the 7 Plus was already beast and to get even faster? Sign me up. I think folks are just blinded by the iPhone X and if it never existed most would be all over the 8.

My issue is getting it and then wanting the XI (or whatever) next year. I need to be able to refresh in a years time.

Yeah that's true. I know just personally I'm not going to rush to get the X. I'll wait until after the hype is over. If push come to shove I have a sudden urge to get the X I might save up and grab it full price or something down the line.

I'm not upgrading until December (IUP) so will have to wait until then anyway. The 8 to me isn't worth it and the 8 Plus looks ridiculous now, will have to either keep the 7 or stump the money for the X.

What about a payment plan and trade it in next year or just sell the phone outright next year? iPhone's have a pretty good resale.

I think I'll be going from my 6S to a 7+, or maybe even a 6S+ since that's still being sold as new. I don't think I really have interest in the 8s, and certainly not the X.

o2 refresh. Someone explained it on here and I thought I understood it. Read the blurb on their site and its says you can trade in your phone at anytime and put up the cash to pay off the device plan. I guess all refresh does is give you the option of upgrading when you want. You just need to be able to pay it off. I guess it's a viable option (depending on what the 8+ costs with o2).

iphone 8 is waste. iPhone 8 was created to give Apple justification for slapping a $1000 price tag on iPhone x.

Was the 6S/6S+ to 7/7+ really a huge jump? I feel like the true tone, better camera, faster processor, wireless charging, etc. is pretty typical as far as upgrades we see from year to year.

I wasn't going to make a change, but since I'm making a payment now anyway, and doing my upgrade isn't really gonna change that, I'm gonna go from my 7+ to an 8+. I don't have interest in an X for now - would prefer to really see what it's gonna be like and make that change next year if desired.

I just want to do my upgrade now, and not several months from now, so that I'll be on the schedule and be able to get one at release next year.

I have a hard time justifying the upgrade from my iPhone 7 128 GB to the iPhone 8 64 GB or 256 GB option.

The only way my payment via the Apple Upgrade Program would stay the same is if I downgraded to an iPhone 8 with 64 GB of storage (from 128 GB with my 7).

Since there is no 128 GB option I am forced to get the iPhone 8 256 GB option which is way too much storage for me, but 64 is too little.

Settling for the iPhone 8 256 GB would cost about $5 more dollars per month but I would also have to pay sales tax on it.

If they had a 128 GB iPhone 8 I would be all for it, probably... Thoughts?

I do love the idea of having that wireless charging because I'd love to just be able to throw my watch and phone on that charging pad and be done with it. Is it worth the cost, and then the cost of that charging accessory? IDK

That is one of the major added benefits of the 8, but at the same time I still probably would not utilize the feature. The only time my phone is charging is while I am asleep or I am using it while I am charging (which would not be possible if it has to be on a mat).

With that said I don't think wireless charging is a big selling point for me. I'm glad it is there for future iPhones but it doesn't do much in my world.

I have a 7 and am getting the 8. Good for me that not many are planning on getting it (based on various forums / polls), I should have no problem pre-ordering tonight and can go back to sleep.

1) It supports Band 66 for Verizon
2) Glass
3) I am a fan of wireless charging
4) I will get more money back from selling my 7 than I would this time next year

Neither the 8 nor the 10 are making me jump, my 7+ is fine for now; I can wait another year.

That's good enough for me.

Think you all helped me in my decision. Happy with my 7 - will stick with it unless I see price drops on 8 due to increased X demand. Be an interesting next few months to see what happens.
