The exact thing happened to me today, are we lost then?

Okay so I have a few iPhones to unlock since I've bought a few used from ebay and CL and such. I should note that I am an AT&T customer. I got one replaced by Apple and submitted the IMEI for unlocking about 11 days ago. That case still shows as not yet done. I did that one by saying that I do not have an AT&T account since I have like 6-7 to unlock. I don't have much hope for this one since they keep saying it has been pushed back and also because of what I have been reading on this forum.

I got another replaced by the apple store and submitted the IMEI yesterday and DID tell them my account information. I got a generic email saying that the case has been resolved and I did a restore and I got no such "congrats" screen. But the thing is, the iPhone IS unlocked. I have a T mobile sim in it right now and it's catching the signal just fine.

I called three times yesterday, the first two reps I got I told that I don't have an AT&T account and they shut me down right away (Get this, the one rep said that the 3GS, iPhone 4, and iPhone 4s use three different kinds of sim cards and that I need to contact apple for unlocking. Maybe I shut her down).

Anyways the third guy I got I gave my account info to. He was super friendly and told me that even those without an account will get an unlock. I gave him the IMEI for my iPhone 4 and got that generic email today and I'm unlocked.

I hope this helps but I got a question...does AT&T limit how many iPhones you can unlock? I had seen that there was a 5 per year limit but the guy informed me that no such limit exists, just that I'd have to call for each iPhone. Any ideas?

yeah i just talked to AT&T rep and he said you need to have an account in order to unlock it. i just want to know about the limit as i may have got some more iPhones to unlock!can some one confirm the unlock limit thankyou!

I already called 3 times no one help me im not a customer they said.

how do i send a message? i would really appreciate your help, im in mexico lol, so i think there will be no hope in unlocking my iphone.

Invalid or no mobile/account associated with request.

So I got this message but a rep earlier told me I would be okay since I put in this request before they enforced the policy change.

EDIT: Talked to Level 2 Rep: Even he said, he can't over-ride the decision made or re-open my case and that requests now have to have a account number associated with the unlock request.

Have you tried to restore it? In imei.info my iPhone still comes as locked. And in fact my request was made before the changes too, on April 16. Should I give them a call?

i think your iphone has been unlocked, i checked mine and it says " sim locked:yes", and it is locked. so try to restore it on itunes.

Under carrier, it should just say "carrier 12.0." That's how you know I guess cause my other ones say at&t 12.0
 
I got the congrats message but I never got the instruction email from at&t. Mine is still under contract for another 8 months. I did get an email from at&t:

Dear Customer:

Can anyone post the URL to chat with them about the unlock? I logged into my ATT account but I do not see any chat features or anythin'.
 
Are you ATT customer? Did they ask you for an ATT account?

Yeah they did. I have one, but I did get one done yesterday without an AT&T account. I guess it all depends on who you get.

I always just google "ATT chat support" First link pick that and the att chat link is at the right, towards the middle of the page.

Yup! that's what I got and I also got the other one when the senior technical support advisor unlocked it right away.
 
My first phone was unlocked today with the generic email and it didn't say anything special after the restore. I'm going to put the t mobile sim in before I connect and see what happens. Still waiting on my second, it's still in waiting.
 
A simple sync with my Tmobile sim in the phone this time and it brought up the congratulations screen. Still waiting on my second phones approval.

Well I did international but that one has yet to be unlocked. For the three other iphones that I did unlock, I provided them with my mobile number (at&t account). Two were processed RIGHT away, another took like 12 hours or so.
 
Tried to get a brand new iPhone 4 (cracked screen replaced by BestBuy) unlocked on April 8, 2012, but they were unaware as how to do it, got hung up on about (3) times and was on hold for about (1) hour and 45 minutes, so I answered their survey after the phone call and went to an Apple Store and they said to go to AT&T down the street and the corporate AT&T store knew very little, so I took a 2nd phone survey and gave them "1's" v. 10 being the best. The next morning I got a call from a manager that unlocked it in about (15) minutes and sold it to a guy in Hawaii for $575...:cool:

Please somebody help me. I am live in Hungary and i dont have AT&T number and account. But my iPhone 4 is AT&T locked and 2 years old.
I tried contact them with email but they said i need AT&T account and number to request.
Someone who has AT&T account can help me request unlock? Please PM me.

i am getting weird emails from AT&T!

one email stated this : Ineligibility Invalid Mobile or Account Template

the other email stated this : Ineligibility Invalid IMEI Template

when i chatted with the rep gave my case number he said that my case is under process now! i dont know whats going on:/

u have an account thats why u got the unlocks!
