Before last weekend- May 18th or 19th, got chat to confirm I was eligible. They said look for an email in 5-7 days. I had an email that Monday or Tues, stating to verify the email address since it was different than My Itunes account. I verified, and 2 days later- Wed or Thur, I had the ATT email saying how to unlock via Itunes with a link to instructions. You basically restore via itunes and when it reboots, you get a message on the itunes scren- congratulations, your iphone is unlocked.

I restored with shift/restore and a sn0wbreeze file so I did not lose my jailbreak and it was successful. Good luck. Don't use international chat, or adding extra add on features chat. They can't help you. Good luck.

I agree- Mine took 5 days.
 
Just check your imei on any of those website that give you the unlock or lock status, it might be unlock already before the email arrive
 
Is it possible to still contacting AT&T and unlock if I jailbreak now?

If you get an ATT sanctioned unlock, you will be unlocked forever and baseband will not matter. This is equal to factory unlocked. But unlock is not a jailbreak. Unlock only lets you use any carrier. The jailbreak lets you use cydia apps. I have just read that 5.1.1 jailbreak is out and untethered.

I think the 7-10 waiting days is only for those who AT&T can't find the IMEI associated to their account. Even then, they still unlock.

Anyways, don't know if it has been mentioned but IMEI.info is now charging $1.99 to check if they IMEI for any iPhone has bee unlocked.

I've had an iPhone 4 and 4s unlocked by AT&T since this rolled out.

I had to replace my defective 4s on Thursday. Did the AT&T tech support chat yesterday. Only gave them my imei and they created the case for me. Checked that dev.mv website just a few minutes ago and I'm unlocked again.

When you get a factory unlocked iphone replace, the new one you get will have the same factory unlocked status as the one you swap!

No need to call att again to get it unlocked!

Sorry I should clarify.

I want to jailbreak now, but I don't know how that would affect me unlocking later when I'm eligible. Would it mean I have to restore/jailbreak again or something like that once I unlock?

Hope this doesn't come off snarky but my phone that was replaced was not factory unlocked. It was unlocked by AT&T through this new policy. So not sure what you're trying to say.

Att unlocked process is factory unlocked! So if you have an att unlocked iphone and swap it for warranty your replacement will be unlocked on the spot since the unlocked status carry over from the apple server! U took an extra step for nada!

yes you did! you helped me unlock my iPhone 4! but since now my whole office is bugging me! i have asked them it costs 30-35$ as according to the website the other fellow gave here! so that is why trying to help them now:/

If they can have WMDs they can be communists...so lets not get biblical and political here. I don`t want to sound racist but the mexican CSRs are really helpful. :D

Some members are still in search of a valid customer to help them out unlock their iphone since they are abroad or whatever. But others here seem to be making some money of it all. Thats just shameful. You know who you are....:eek:
