Anybody get an AT&T sanctioned Unlock?

Yeah I get what you mean but at that point you could order one online then..? I understand buying an off-contract one when the unlocked ones aren't out yet, but for when they had come out, what was the point of getting one from a normal B&M provider then? D: I'm not trying to attack anyone I'm just curious.
 
Yes, two as of now and probably leave it at that for now. I unlocked my 4S, which I'm currently using, and a week old replacement iPhone 4. I'm keeping one and have the other one Craigslist.
 
Need someones help

Hello! I have bought iPhone 4 on eBay. And I am not AT&T user. Can someone who has AT&T acount assist me in order to unlock my iPhone? You have to have access to Live Chat.
And how many iPhones one user can unlock.

I chatted on the 4th asking for an unlock on my current iphone4. I was initially told no due to being ON contract.
I exited chat(tech support) and tried again like 30 mins later. I told this rep I wished to travel out of US and need the phone unlocked. After a few mins of checking the reps sends me a case # and says it being reviewed.

Today I check the imwi on dev.mk---a free imei checker and sure enough its unlocked. I did not recieve an email, nor did I see an activation splash screen as I have been checking over the last few days.

So word to those who are trying keep at it.
Thanks t all those woh have posted their results it really encouraged me to keep trying!.

still able to help? i had no luck on the phone getting anyone to help me.

ive got a ATT iphone, never was under contract with them. i have no ATT account so chat online.

if anyone can help me id appreciate it
 
Word to the wise- I unlocked my iPhone through AT&T, and all you need to do if you're not an account holder is call 1800-331-0500 then hit zero after every question that it asks. Then, you will get through to a human!

This is great news. I hope to acquire an iPhone 4 via Ebay or CL. This gives me hope on being able to use it on T-Mobile.

But when you speak to an operator they will ask you for your number right?

they do ask for your number and if you arent a customer they say we cant unlock the device sorry.!
 
Does anyone know if you check an IMEI at http://dev.mk/ and it's a JB/Unlocked phone will it show there as unlocked or is this just official unlocks that it's showing?

I only ask because I'm trying to get ATT to unlock my old 3Gs and haven't gotten an email from them yet the site shows the phone as unlocked. Since it's JB/Unlocked I want to make sure it's a real unlock before restoring it.

What you can do is call Apple and they can verify if this device is unlocked. If they say it is then you need to back up and restore and it will be unlocked. Make sure you turn off 3G in the network settings to work on Tmo.

It should be unlocked, back up and restore and it should work.

Asking help to unlock

I would greatly appreciate anyone who can help me unlock my iphone 4. I bought it in France from a person who initially purchased it in an AT&T store in Chicago paying the full retail price. I have the receipt.

I upgraded my baseband while following a tut on youtube to activate the phone.:(

Question about AT&T Unlocking 3gs that is already unlocked

Sorry if this is a duplicate question, but I can't read through the 40 pages of this forum to find my answer.

So here goes:

I have a Iphone 3gs, Ios 4.3.3. It is unlocked AND jailbroken, but NOT through AT&T.

I am thinking of having AT&T unlock it if possible so I can update the Ios and then switch to a BYOD carrier (I am currently using the phone in Mexico with a local company). I check on dev.mk and the IMEI is registered as locked. I don't know what the baseband is or if the unlock or jailbreak was tethered. I don't understand what that means even.

Will AT&T be able to unlock the phone?

If so, will I be able to update the Ios in the future?

Will I be able to reJailbreak it? Do I even care? I like getting free apps with Installous.

Anything else I should know or think about?

I would like the phone to work at it's highest capacity, and be able to use it for as long as possible in the future. I'm hankering for the Iphone 5 but would pass this one along to my daughter.

My contract ended a couple days back and I spoke with AT&T via the chat help and they gladly unlocked my iphone 4 and they said I'd get an email and instructions in "8 days".. Such a random note during the conversation.

They told me they have a waiting list of customers who are having their iphones unlocked.

Did anyone else get that?

Regardless- A day later, I did get an email from AT&T that said-

Dear Customer:

Thank you for your recent inquiry regarding your AT&T service. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. The issue has been resolved.

Should you have any further needs regarding this issue, please do not hesitate to call us at 1 800 331-0500 and reference the tracking number shown above.

It sounds like they already unlocked it on their side, but no instructions. I'm fine with an 8 day wait since I'm still planning on waiting for the new iphones. :)

yes this means your iphone has been unlocked!

Connect to iTunes and restore. You'll get the unlocked message and then restore from back up if you want or set up as new phone.
