Unless you’re an insider at Apple, we can only wait to find out.

Not sure why I would need to be an Apple insider to make a prediction? But also, it's feasible what I said is likely to be Accurate being Apples history of not making changes physically to their iPhone line up. Not to mention, The Notch is a trademark for Apple.

I don’t mind the notch at all from a usability or aesthetic standpoint. One thing that i discovered is awful about it is they had to remove some information from the UI in order to fit it in. The crucial thing for me that they removed is the VPN icon... now it occasionally fades in and out while changing apps, but that is nowhere good enough as my VPN connection occasionally drops and I want to know when it’s not connected.... with the notch, one is never entirely sure.

Omg I love the notch so much. I proposed to the notch. We got married Wednesday. I call my notch Mrs. mcdj.

I don't own an iphone x, but from what i've seen of others' the notch is very distinctive, easy to recognize as apple. Just as much as the curved screen in samsung's Note 8. I wonder if they are planning to keep the notch in future versions. I imagine there are a few people who are avoiding the x because of it. I like my SE well enough but if they introduced it in SE2 I would honestly hesitate to buy lol. But that could just be because the screen is already so small.

I love the X in general and I could give a rats ass about the notch. Much ado about nothing.

I absolutely adore the notch. If the notch were a woman, I would try to pick it up in a bar. I’d hit that. I’d hit that hard.

I don’t notice it, but when I do I like it because it gives the iPhone a distinctive look. Then when I look at my 6s, immediately I notice the ugly bezels.

Totally indifferent. With the loss of the home button, bezels, and other distinctions, I can see why Apple wants the notch to make it a distinctive iPhone trademark. I think it's funny that other manufacturers seem to already be considering copying the notch in leaked renderings. I could care less if they copy the notch, I don't care that the X has one. I admit that it did distract me for the first day or two. It's very possible that this will be another controversy that our future selves will be saying "really?"

I’ve got an iPhone X and I wish the notch wasn’t there. It’s not a big deal in most portrait apps but it’s an issue with video which you sometimes must watch pillboxed to exclude it. However, the X has other strengths which I appreciate.

I’m certainly not going to pretend it isn’t a design compromise by claiming it’s some type of fashion statement or adds character. Once more people buy the X — and next year’s cheaper models come out which will have the notch it won’t be special. Everyone including your Grandma and the bag boy at the supermarket will have one.

The sweetest Koolaid that Apple got everyone to drink was convincing people that this is a 5.8 inch screen.

I got so used to the notch and the rounded corners of the screen that I can't imagine going back.

the notch gives the X a very noticeable profile... when I open an app that doesn't embrace the notch, the phone literally looks like any other phone with an "all screen" design. I love the particular character it gives the phones. Also props to apple for nice using the software to embrace the notch.

Some people actually like fat chicks also. They get one, get used to them and don’t know better....

So for those who love it. Will you be upset if they release the phone next year without the notch?
The notch is going to be there. It houses the iPhone X main Face-ID sensors. There's absolutely no place where Apple would have placed them. The notch is going to be there on next model to and i won't be disappointed at all because I adjusted to it very well.

I'm kind of easing into this iteration of phones. Been out to the Apple and Best Buy stores about 4 times to compare the X to my 7 Plus. The notch seemed more annoying in photos than in use on the phone. About the only app where it seemed to bug me is iBooks, but then I almost always use my iPad for reading. After my last visit to compare I gave in and will be picking one up. Space Gray . . . [PS: While not notch-related, I find the rounded corners kind of cool!]

I actually like it. It doesn’t bother me at all. Just hope releases an update that shows the battery % inside the battery logo cause I really depend on it lol

Battery percentage is actually an available widget you can add to the Notification screen if it helps. Oddly, it didn't show up for me on my X as an available choice until I completed a full charge cycle. Once you add it, it's only a right swipe away at all times.

In the spirit of the thread...I don't even notice the notch. I'm absolutely sold on my X after living with a 6 Plus and 8 Plus. The X is just right for me providing the best balance between size, useability and performance.

Don't have a strong opinion on the notch. But I want rounded edges on my phone like I want them on my tv. It's just clipping information. No thank you.

I think people who dislike the notch just don’t understand good design. The notch is what sets the iPhone X apart from not only its predecessors, but every other smartphone on the market. Android phones today are just a sea of the same slabs with bezels at the top and bottom. There are very few things setting them apart with just a glance. But when you see an iPhone X, you immediately recognize what you’re looking at. Apple is in the business of making icons, not commodities.

I wouldn’t say I’m in love with it but I appreciate it and admire it greatly  it’s so damn cool. This phone is a dream.

The thing I notice the most when going to other phones are the bezels and the screen quality. Those are the things that made it impossible for me to go back.

I don’t notice it, but when I do I like it because it gives the iPhone a distinctive look. Then when I look at my 6s, immediately I notice the ugly bezels.

And one thing I think Apple believes, is that the notch really defines the iPhone X on how it looks. When you see the iPhone X, you know right away what it is and Apple Has always been known to separate themselves away from others, and the notch does that with the physical appearance of it.
