Bigger is not better

WOW... Sure... I am not upgrading iPhone until the day my iPhone 4S stops getting iOS updates. So I am fine for other year, beside there is nothing I can do on iPhone because of that tiny screen... I mean seriously , after you grab a Nexus 4 or note, is is hard for me to go back on that tiny screen. I mean it is to small for me to read stuff online

A phone is something you what to fit nicely on your pocket and carry it anywhere without noticing you have it. A bigger phone means it doesn't fit any pocket, It can fall off your pocket if it is not deep enough, and then there is always that awkward feeling when the phone lays down on your pocket and you feel like your carrying a big tablet on your pocket...

I would never buy a phone that I have to carry on my hand, like the nexus.

I guess you dont know that not every country in the world offers contracts and you have to pay full retail price for the phone...

I guess you don't know that of course i know that. You also don't know whether or not the OP is able to get the reduced contract price. The person that said $700 assumed (probably incorrectly) that the OP did have to pay full contract price (and said it in a really rude way which is why I felt like responding).

Someone posted about their periods here, not sure if it was sarcasm or anything but why would you do that, not sure who did that tho.

Eh... a little. I feel like I already know what they're going to reveal. I wasn't too excited about iOS 7 when they did the keynote earlier in June. I'm not upgrading to the new iPhone so I'm not too excited about that either lol.

I am pretty excited because its been a while since an apple announcement. I am sure after the event I will leave disappointed just like the last few since good ol steve is no longer with us.

Cant wait, I was really looking forward to the last beta but of course that didnt happen. I was actually starting to get the hang of downloading betas but now the time is almost near for the GM :) Cant wait!

Unfortunantly, I will NOT be home try pounding the Apple Developer Portal @ 10 A.M. Pacific Time, won't be back home until 2 P.M. Pacific Time. Hopefully, the Server will no longer be Overloaded by then! :)

You're kidding right?

Nope, not kidding. I generally work 50 hours a week. I take vacation once a year, if that. I never take days off unless it's an absolute emergency or I'm terribly ill, which hardly ever happens. My boss as well as my fellow co-workers are always telling me to take a day off and relax but I like what I do so I never really see it as work.

I love Apple devices because they make my life A LOT easier. So when Apple has a keynote, I like taking the day off just to relax, watch it live in the morning, then research the product and take place in forums like this one. It's become kind of like a ritual. I don't see anything wrong with it. To each their own I guess.

Plus, I upgrade every 2 years so I'm a lot more interested in this keynote than say, someone who already has an iPhone 5.

I know this is OT and not really any of my business, but, if I may ask, what do you do for work? I think it's cool that you like what you do!

I am sooooo excited. I have a apple store interview at noon and the keynote to watch before noon :D

Its all good!

Well, my kid is eyeing my 4S like a vulture, so I'll guess I'll have to upgrade and give her a hand-me-down. Thing is, I really want a wider screen, not a taller one.

I'm jealous. This is a SUPER busy time of the year for me so I can barely pay attention to what's going on. Usually what I do is have some live blogger from the event scrolling on one of my monitors & I keep peeking at it for updates. On my way home (usually very late) I'll listen to it on my iphone in the car. Then when I get home I plan on doing the GM update (hopefully).

I used to love going to the Apple store on launch day to get my phone but the timing the last few years has been terrible. No way can I justify those few hours.

People are pretty harsh towards Galaxy S4 for keeping old design...

I also don't see iPhone 5S is worth upgrade from iPhone 4S as well. Even if I stay away from rumours sites, it is kind hard for me to get excited over S releases.

I understand what your saying. But we can both agree that apple gets way more flak then any other company. Thats what i meant, and as far as "S" cycle upgrades i personally love them, of course not as much as a complete redesign, but still i do. An upgrade isn't about just looks its about what the upgrade can offer you compared to what the one you have now. This phone from what we know, will be all around better. Thats what an upgrade is, a redesign would be nice but i'm cool with redesigns every other year. Just me though, I definitely understand your opinion though.

I love what I do as well. It's none of my business, but a day off for an Apple event seems a wee bit extreme. Just for the fact I never see that much that takes an entire day to cover/research and in most cases the things are not even released the same day.

The most I did or would do is say take a late lunch so I could track the event work free for an hour. Whatever makes you happy though go for it!

Looks like I cant even download the GM seeing as my phone is sitting in a bag of rice and I may need to get it replaced :( Ughhhhhh

How can I do that? If I get a replacement phone it will cost me $200 .. I dont think I can tell them to give me the 5S bahahahah

Meh lol whatever the 5 is a fantastic phone!

Got mines replaced due to software problems no problem Im sure it will go as smoothly as it did with me
