My iPad is still just as functional today as it was when I bought day 1. Still no scratches on the screen too :)

I think with these kind of devices that unless you are made of money you just buy in and stick with what you bought until there is a truly compelling reason to upgrade. I have no doubt the iPad 2 will be superior in specs to my first gen but a camera is not compelling to me, nice, but not a reason to upgrade, nor is a faster processor or more ram. I'll skip 1 generation at least I think. :)

Even though I previously posted I wouldn't upgrade, I've done some thinking and it really comes down to just how fast the new iPad is. Don't get me wrong, I love my iPad, but there are times when I do get tired of the slowness in Safari. I visit a number of message boards multiple times a day and scrolling through the various posts sometimes can be very sluggish, especially threads with lots of photos. If I walk into my Apple store and the new iPad blows me away with it's speed, that may be enough to push me towards upgrading. Other than that I really don't know of anything that would prompt me to upgrade - I could care less about the cameras and the size and weight don't bother me.

I just hope that the new iPad doesn't look like the most recent mock-ups. I don't want to race to the emergency room to stitch up the lacerations that the iPad Cleaver will cause. Seriously, what is with that tapered edge?

If I'm into iPad games, the extra power of the processor and bigger RAM will surely make an impact (speed, less crashes etc.). But for now, the iPad 1 can stand on its own. I won't need the FaceTime since I already own an iPhone 4. I would possibly consider buying the 2 if we will see a 128gb which I don't see happening yet.

I like my iPad but will most likely buy this one and any future one. Plus my family likes the tech hand me downs. I want the 3G one this time around. hehe

Based on what has been posted so far im not too excited.

But, I've notice that some pages are pretty slow on my current iPad though..

We'll see at 1:00 est

I bought my iPad a week ago and love it do not regret purchasing it before the new ones coming out the £200 off the contract was worth it! Not considering upgrading at all :)

My current iPad is great (64GB 3G), so the new model will have to be compelling. I use the iPad so much that I'll certainly upgrade if I think its worth it. Guess we'll just have to see in a few hours.

My biggest pet peeve about my current ipad is the pitiful webpage caching (due to low RAM). I'm upgrading solely for that reason...assuming that's improved.

No upgrade for me

The current iPad is everything I expected

That said - the only reason I would actually consider an upgrade is if the iPad 2 is SIGNIFICANTLY LIGHTER!!!

The current iPad is very heavy - once that's improved, I'll upgrade

But for now - I'm mostly happy!

It's against Apples wishes for one to be happy with what they have.

It hurts sales

It proves you can think for yourself which especially goes against Steve Jobs plan for you.

You're expected to fall in line and hand over your money :)

I'll wait for ipad 3.

Zero interest in upgrading. My 32GB WiFi model is perfect just as it is for now.

I like how everyone is so sure before the iPad 2 even comes out.

This guys got the right idea^^

I'm happy with my iPad but could be happier w/ iPad2 -- more features, lower weight. Plus it makes no sense to hang on to the iPad when I can get good money for it to pay for the iPad2. That makes it a cheap upgrade. I'll do the same whenever the iPad3 comes out. Also remember that Apple products are obsoleted prematurely by design. Take a look at how they progressively make computers, iPods, and iPhones that are only a couple years old worthless b/c they are not compatible with the latest features.

I am very very happy and satisfied with my iPad 1. So why wouldn't I want to upgrade to iPad 2. It only costs about $75 to upgrade.

If the only change was the form factor. I would upgrade.

If the only change was the cameras, I would upgrade.

If the only change was the gyro or new port I would upgrade.

If the only change was the dual core I would upgrade

If the only change was the ram, or the gpu I would upgrade

And so on

Just to clarify, The iPad is a nice "Thing" to have around.
It's a "Handy Device" that's quick to pick up and look at something simple, like check email, or read a net posting or check lottery results of show someone a photo you have on it, or even as an address book.

But I don't find it actually much good for "Doing Things" on. One big reason, it's just so dam slow to navigate around and work with compared to a PC or a Mac.

This is purely based on opinion and what works or dosen't work for you. The fact of the matter is, what works or dosen't work for you, may work or not work fine for me.

I use mine more than I use my computer and find this to be the case with most people I know that have one. Instant on, no boot time, no hourglass or bouncing icons, touch an app icon and I get instant access to books, magazines, light gaming, word processing, creating spreadsheets, email, web, music, videos, youtube. Can you please clarify slow to navigate and work with?

I have seen quite a few complaints about RAM and processing, and either I have a magic device or people are fixated more on the numbers and specs than the actual performance. Since I got my iPad on release day, this device has done nothing but satisfy......for me. Has anyone really found themselves impatient with boot or load times?

As far as upgrading to the new one? It would have to really WOW me, like many have made good points of, processing speed, RAM, webcam, weight, and battery life boosts may not be enough. USB ports, Multimedia slots, possibly a second iPad being a 7 inch for even MORE portability, I might bite ;)

I'm on a 5-6 year cycle for buying new computer desktop or laptop. So I have another 4-5 years before I buy a new iPad. It's the funnest, most informative toy in the world.

We've got 4 iphone 4's, 1 Ipod Touch, 2 Ipad's and 3 new 27" Imac's in the home. Couldn't imagine upgrading the Ipad's this time around. I love it and use it almost every day, but I don't need a camera, and i don't need a faster processor or more memory or storage since all I use it for is surfing and streaming video and netflix.

For those upgrading...enjoy them. I know the feeling of a new gadget. It's awesome. I was a windows guy until a year ago, and now I have 10k worth of Mac gadgets in my home. Enough is enough!

Damn... this is a tempting upgrade. I still don't know if I'm gonna wait it out or not. They really hit the key 3 things to me: Faster processor, lighter weight and thinner size. And I like the new snazzy cover... ugh

I wasn’t expecting to see an HD Movie cam in the iPad, which I think is pretty cool for Facetime and other quick movies. But not sure if I can get the iPad 2 anytime soon, since I just got the MacBook Air which also really like.

Hmmm..not sure about your math. Considering Apple themselves have knocked $100 bucks off the price and obviously a used one would go for even less, not sure how you arrive at that paltry $75 difference. Perhaps you are relying on a sucker who doesn't know any better to buy your original iPad? LOL
