I am pretty happy with my iPad but a significantly lighter iPad would make be much happier. Enough to buy the new one:)

I bought an iPad and honestly I don't use it. I let my kids use it. I don't need a giant ipod touch. Perhaps if there is some super duper functionality in iPad (insert version here) I may consider buying one.

or just lose nothing and save hundreds by using what we have now for several more years since it's going to perform just fine for quite a while.

Don't bet all your coins on that statement of yours; you may regret it later.
Well, all depends how much use you get out of your iPad. if it's just to watch videos and read books, you'll be fine.
In my case, I'm way beyond that, and can use all the power and storage I can get.

I'm very happy with my iPad (it's the best thing since toilet paper) and even though it could use more RAM I'm definitely NOT upgrading. I don't have money to throw around like that

Selling iPad now... regardless of the new one coming out, because:

1. I just got an iPhone, and the iPhone's screen puts the iPad's to absolute shame. I notice every pixel now. I am spoiled by the iPhone's screen.

2. I never used it much. Just didn't make sense.

3. Browsing and YouTube is just horribly slow on the thing... no comparison between using a proper laptop.

I loved the concept, but the executability just wasn't there for me. I have too many other devices (aka MBP) that do what I want.

Looking at this as I did my iPhone purchases...

Lucked out on buying the first iPhone on the second day of launch way back when :D Then the iPhone was released a year later... wasn't that impressed to make the jump and go thru hoops to sell my original iPhone. Same with the iPhone 3Gs.... but made the jump to the iPhone 4... enough to make me want to upgrade....

I am not expecting to last as long on holding out till I upgrade my iPad... unless Apple has some surprises later this year with an iPad 3 - I am thinking that this time next year I will be wetting my chops at whatever iPad generation that Apple might have in mind at that time...

For me to change my mind Apple would have to have SOMETHING that I really feel that I can't live without in the new iPad.... now that I have the iPhone 4 I know I can't live without the GPS, and love the Retina display....

I sold my iPad last week for 380 dollars. I bought mine originally for around 425 dollars with tax.

I have some best buy gift cards that I can use to buy one, but it will be all depending on what it gets.

If it doesn't have retina display, then I might seriously just using my MBA.

I don't think I'll be upgrading... While I do love my iPad it gets really frustrating when browsing websites that include videos and the such and the damn iPad can't play the videos so then I have to go to get my MBP and browse the web with that..

The iPad has MANY great features BUT it does lack many basic functions that are integral for a full web browsing experience..

Unless something mind-blowing comes out of this Wed event, I don't expect I'll be upgrading anytime soon. While I'd love to get a lighter and faster device, my current iPad does everything I need and more. I think, like the iPhone, I'll typically skip every other model... anyone else?

And I know we don't have any hard details yet but I'm simply asking, at this point who's written off the desire to upgrade and is happy as is?

I'm only getting the 2nd Gen because I didn't have the money to get the 1st gen. I know people that have the iPad and are very satisfied with it. I will be skipping every other model as well from here on out.. unless the 3rd gen is a retina display (who knows).

I will be upgrading. I travel a lot. Being able to easily FaceTime home and see the kids will be great. I already do it on my iPhone, but the bigger screen will make it even better. Also, I use it for a lot of ereading so lighter will be better.

I also have had a loaner XOOM for the last 48 hours and I can honestly say whenever I use it, I seriously miss my iPad. It feels huge, the OS is very confusing, there is not one good app made specifically for this thing, and I greatly miss all my iPad apps. Can't wait for Wednesday.

No. My iPad is a good not great device. I like the apps, like the fact that I can surf the net w/o a laptop, but it's too limited in it's use. My kindle is a million times better as an ereader. It's smaller, lighter, and the eink is very easy on the eyes. I'll use my gen 1 for as long as the battery goes AWOL and then see what the tech looks like in what will probably be 5 years for me.

I'm pretty happy as is. I probably won't be buying the new one until I have money to waste (that may or may not be this week, or next August, who knows haha). Either way, I'll lust over whatever is coming out. ;)

I'm good with my current iPad after reading the rumored the specs. I have a cam on my iPhone 4 and my MB Pro if I want to do FaceTime.

I am perfectly happy with v1. All apps I use run smoothly, I don't play games on the iPad much and the graphic of Epic Citadel/NOVA/Real Racing is more than enough for me (I don't care much about how the game looks but how I enjoy it). Weight is also fine by me, screen resolution as well (I am reading a lot on it).

So I don't see myself upgrading. I would have no use for more RAM or better CPU and I have cam on my Macbook if necessary (however I have used it only once or twice in 3 years anyway so...).

Anyone who really knows apple understands how the product gets better with the second or third upgrade. However, I'm happy with my ipad for what I use it for but I always like to see a real refresh on any product.

Using the ipad as i do (see my sig) I definitely need the added horsepower from more ram and better CPU/gpu. I feel the legginess all the time, especially compared to the more powerful iPhone 4.

It's interesting as to how people differ in their needs, wants. etc. I'm the exact opposite. I wasn't convinced at all about the "niche" that Apple was selling, the space between phone and laptop. I thought they were trying to create a hole to fill that just wasn't there. But I bought it anyway, and sure enough, I had a hole I didn't even know was there. I actually use the iPad more than the computer or phone.

For you, and many others, obviously not the same case. It's all cool tho.

I'm not UN-happy with this one, but I'd consider upgrading if the specs are right

As it has been stated numerous times: if the iPad 2 is introduced with earth shattering features, then I will buy one. Otherwise, no way, no how.

It will probably feel like a bit of a let down. After all, the core idea of the iPad is going to be the same for the rest of time one might then, or at least a long time.

Nevertheless, when you switch between something like the new Airs and the iPad, the iPad does feel slow, sluggish browsing the web and whatnot.

Dual core processor in the iPad would be a significant upgrade and could make the "feel," when using the device that much better. That will probably be worth it enough for me.

Nope. Sticking with version one awhile I think. It is serving me well and there isn't really anything lacking for me personally at this point. Plus by the time the iPad3 or 4 comes out, 4G should be available on it along with a better screen by that time and who knows what other features we haven't even heard of yet. For me, THATS when it will be the time to upgrade.

I'm pretty happy w/my iPad, but I've only had it for about 3 months. I need to upgrade my iPhone next, I still have the 3G (not 3Gs), so I use my iPad for most of my apps at this time. I'm waiting for the iPhone 5 next. At some point, once the iPad has the retina display, then I may want to upgrade, but that is not happening this time around.
