the snail paced incremental updates, the AI fiasco, intentionally grotesque design, recent price gouging (of apple products in general) - anyone else have general iPhone & Apple fatigue and just losing all interest?
In a word no. My phone is a tool, albeit an expensive one. That I am on for hours at end. I care not about the pace of updates. I buy when I decide. I don’t consider Apple to have had an “ai fiasco”, ymmv. I don’t believe the designs are grotesque either, ymmv.

I don’t have the software issues people rag on about.

And I’m not losing interest at all.

OP appears to be a "Steve Jobs Would Never" guy, which was quaint and funny in 2014 and is just sad and tired 15 years later.

Thanks for weighing in on what you consider "sad." Since OP only mentioned several real problems Apple is having right now without so much as alluding to Steve Jobs, I'll take you opinion for what it's worth.

The complete failure to produce a competent implementation of AI is the biggest thing that's frustrating me. After the first disastrous attempt in iOS 18, I just turned "Apple Intelligence" off and waited for two years. I told myself, "At lease Siri is still able to consistently play my favorite songs without any massive malfunctions." After WWDC2026 I felt a twinge of hope and jumped back in.

Now when I say "Siri, play my favorite songs," it plays, more often than not, the song "Favorite Songs" by a never-heard-of artist called spookybands. The bar couldn't have been any lower for Siri, yet somehow Apple has managed to slip under it...or maybe I'm just a pie-eyed Steve Jobs devotee who still doesn't appreciate the superior supply chain value that Tim Cook brings to the table. 😂

I’m excited for the new iPhone Air 2.

Don’t really have any fatigue, I buy iPhones when I want, don’t really feel any pressure to buy devices. I had an iPhone 14 Pro Max and upgraded to an iPhone 17 pro max. Now I want an iPhone Air 2 to supplement my iPhone 17 pro max.

What’s the alternative Google services and Android? No thank you.

Personally I don’t use any Google services and don’t intend on beginning now. 😂
17 Pro owner here and, frankly, I wouldn’t mind even the current, original iPhone Air alongside the Pro. The single camera doesn’t bother me a bit. Battery life? I suspect even that would be okay for me. If I see one deeply discounted on Woot or elsewhere, I’ll probably pick it up. But I will keep an eye out for how the Air 2 turns out.

Price gouging? There is high demand for chips, also, inflation was eventually going to hit iPhone. That whole supply and demand thing. They have to maintain the margins, you don’t like it, you can just not buy one this year, or get an Android.

Me? I’m keeping my 17PM and not upgrading, but upgrading my Series 10 to an Ultra 4.

Agreed. Apple just put out a MacBook hundreds of dollars less expensive than previous models when they didn't need to.

Totally agree! I have a 15 and it will be a very, very long time before I upgrade. And no I don't give a about Siri's capabilities which I can get on Gemini or Chat.

This is just a general statement. I feel like too many people get attached to the brands of things that they have, forming a mentality of tribalism.

All brands are going to increase their prices with what is going on with the economy. Only reason why I am tired of iphone is I have had one for the last 3 years, and had one several years before I had my Android phone. Iphone doesn't feel exciting anymore. It works, it does what I need it to, but it lacks excitement for me.

Yes, I do.

All I want is a small, light, pocketable iPhone to do the essentials ...

And every year all the options seem to get a little thicker or heavier or add more stuff I don't want or care about.

I'm nearly into the camp of wanting an iPhone that runs WatchOS at this point.
That's how ridiculous it has gotten.
It’s made it way easier to keep this 15 pro.

If the 13 mini was usb c and had telephoto i would downgrade to that.

In a sea of mainly ever increasing heavier and thicker devices the iPhone Air is a breath of fresh air for me!

A 6.5” screen which is great for content viewing that isn’t attached to a thick & heavy brick like device, it’s comfortable to hold for long periods, it’s easy to balance and move around one handed without fear of dropping it, and it doesn’t weigh your pocket down (doesn’t feel like it’s there, light as air) lol

It may have too many compromises for some but the iPhone Air has made me fall in love with iPhone again

No fatigue here.

What sort of excitement are you after?

Couldn’t agree more, and with iOS 27 allowing you to share your number with another iPhone iPhone Air 2 will be great supplementing my iPhone 17 pro max.

Can’t wait, super excited.

The Air or 17e is than the one for you. Or even better a few years old device.

I think you’re in need of a mirror. You were read like a book and it stings a bit, huh?

My friend, my comment was the mirror. I made an observation / opinion about a trillion dollar tech company. It’s not appropriate to make the conversation personal in any way, neither does it make sense to cast wild aspersions into the source of a 3 letter username and a few words.
