Anyone else sold their iPhone?

got mine packaged up ready for O2 to recycle my 3G, getting about 202 for it, not complaining it gets me extra cash for new iPhone in june/july
 
Is it necessary?

I have been planning to sell my 3G (UK, O2, PAYG, free mobile internet), but I'm just wondering - what happens when the new one comes out? We expected price reduction with the MacBooks, it didn't happen. In fact, in the last two years, Apple has been raising prices here, in the UK. In 2006, a 13" MBP cost less than today, for example.

So, I might not sell yet. HOWEVER, mine has a loose rubber seal, a rubbish battery and the usual cable breaking off at the ends. So I need to return. Maybe if O2 will give me a new handset, then I can sell. How much are they going for on Ebay in the UK? Is it worth jailbreaking?
 
Just sold my 3gs for 400 and will buy a gophone to use til 4g comes out. I'm not eligible til 01/30 but I will either buy unsub depending on cost, or add another line
 
I sold my orginal 3G, broken, for $185. After buying a new 3G and dealing with contract issues, I returned it. Now, I'm eligible for an upgrade, and am currently using a crappy Nokia PAYG phone. Words can't describe how ready I am for the next iPhone.
 
sold my black 16gb 3GS for $400 and my wife's white 3GS for $450 a few days ago - not bad as in the end two new iPhones with early upgrade pricing will only cost us $30, plus activation.
 
How much would I be able to sell a black 32GB iPhone 3GS that has been in a case 24/7 (taken out from time to time to remove dust from the case), and has had a screen protector on since day one (June 19th 2009)?

I've never sold an iPhone before, so I don't really know how much I could get for mine.

Locked or unlocked? Unlocked look to be going for about $700, while an AT&T locked phone looks to be going for about $500.

It's locked. Should have mentioned that I'm in Canada (eh) and it's locked to Rogers. $500 is not bad! :D:D

Any Canadians have an idea how much I could sell it for?
 
My phone is in really bad shape. A 32gb white with cracked screen (easy fix), tore up and cracked back panel (tougher), janky headphone jack (could be headphones) and non-functioning ambient light sensor ( could be due to cracked screen).

Options:
1. dIY ~$45 (possible issue with chrome bezel separation)
2. Repair shop ~$150
3. apple refurb ~$200+tax

I already have a buyer at $450 but I expect to pay $540 for new phone...

Suggestions????

Craigslist is the way to go! I sold mine in less than a day. I asked $400 for my iphone 3G 16gb unlocked and ended up selling for $370. Didn't have to bother with ebay or paypal fees. Got $370 cash
 
I'm looking to sell mine to the same guy who bought both my 2G and 3G. I just need the unlock for 4.0 to be released first. Hopefully it will be soon after 4.0 is out.
 
I still deciding whether to sell it or not.
I just bought mine in March, most of the time I just use the app.
since 4.0 OS can use in 3GS, do you think I should sell it?
 
Gave mine to my step son, his 3G gave up the ghost and died. He needed a new one and I wasn't using mine anymore. I would have preferred selling it, to offset the cost of my new phone, but that's life
 
I sold my 32gb 3GS for $550 (locked) and my wife's locked and half working 3G (the camera didn't work, the speaker was busted, and the proximity sensor and ear speaker didn't work) for $200. Both on Craigslist and both took mere hours after posting to make the sale.
 
I have a 3GS 32GB bought new on June 19th 2009. Always kept in a case, with screen protector. All the water indicators are still white.

What should I get for it?
 
Just sold my 16GB 3GS on ebay for 350.00. I had to list it twice since the first buyer claimed they didn't realize it was not unlocked. Apparently putting (AT&T) in the heading and writing in bold red letters in my listing that the phone was locked to AT&T's network, was not clear enough. Selling an iPhone on ebay requires policing your auction. I am currently using a Nokia 2600 and hating my life...:D
