I found a weirdness that might be a defect or just the display's design. The backlight has way worse edges on the 6s than the 6. Don't know if it's meant to be that way because of 3D Touch, but the top of the screen also has faint bright spots where the LEDs are in the backlight.
My plus is sane bleeding

This thread makes me feel better about my OCD. I thought I was really bad but some people in this thread are insane! One person said that he won't answer his phone unless he washes his hands FFS! Once I got my iPhone 6s Plus 128GB I gave it a quick look-over, installed a glass protector and slapped on a case. Enjoy your phones and stop searching for defects! There is no such thing as a perfect LCD display. OLED is the only way you'll get a close to perfect display so get over it. You'll be upgrading in 11 months anyway....

He might have meant afterwards. Perhaps his phone is covered in poop...

My mute button rattles im going to return this

I've only ever owned one iPhone with a full complement of perfect buttons, and that was the iPhone 4. My i5 had loose volume, mute & power buttons. My 6+ had a loose mute switch. My first 6S+ had a duff home button and my current 6S+ has a loose mute switch. The loose rattling mute switch seems to be almost guaranteed...

Well my i4 and returned 6s+ had no rattle.

Replacement arrived today. The screen is perfectly uniform and a nice white, not too cool or yellow. A rare beast by all accounts.

Not bad, but...

This one has a crack in the plastic frame between the display glass and metal body and a scratch. Both next to the charging port and the display is nowhere near flush this time, with a rough edge feeling all around.

So this proves you choose least worst and in this case I'll take the nicer screen.

Shame.

Oops, I was wrong, the screen in the new one clicks loudly on first press after not using phone for a few minutes. Cheapens the experience

Amazing my iPhone 6s 128gb space grey
Somehow dead pixel just appeared today into its 13 days. I give up sending back for a refund not playing the Apple screen lottery game.
Back to my old perfect iPhone 6.

My speakers are going in and out! Also sometimes when I'm trying to send a text message a gray bar be in the typing line causing me to reset my phone for it to go away
I just got this on my 5C! Must be the iOS.

I'm in the same boat.

I have an express replacement set up with Apple for a bad Ear Receiver. The Ear Receiver makes a rattle sound when I talk to people.

It's a iPhone 6S+ 64 GB Space Gray. Talked to Apple today. Was on hold for 35 mins to find out that it's completely backordered. I called Apple Care, asked for repair status, and then the lady contacted central dispatch to find that out. They have no ETA on when they are receiving to fill these back orders on Apple Care+. Also no store in my area has this model in stock.

On a related note. My wife iPhone 6 also has a defect. Bad Oleophobic Coating and her first one had dead pixels. Apple QC has really gone down hill.

My 6s+ does this (rattle sound in ear speaker, but not all the time - usually with voicemail). I'm not sure if it's a hardware or software issue. Please let me know if your replacement fixes the issue.

Perfect 6s apart from a tiny speck of dust inside the screen right in the middle.

Didn't notice until a couple of hours after use. But now I can't unsee it. Waiting for the replacement unit

Strangely enough, my iPhone 6s came completely fine out of the box. Honestly thought it would have something, after reading all these posts on Macrumors.

There is something very small, but I think it's normal. At the right side of the screen 6 there's a very small gap. It looks a bit like the front panel has moved to the left or so. But it could have to do something with the fact it's a white front. Just like how the proximity sensor is actually visible on it, but not on the Space Gray model.

Anyway, it doesn't concern me at all. Even if it is not normal, I'll stick with it. Can't think why I would care about something such small. :p

That's definitely not normal and I would try to exchange this.

I received my iPhone 6S (silver) last week and found the following things:

The home button is sitting a little loose. If you place your finger on it, you can move the button a little bit around. On my iPad Air 2 it is rock solid and does move at all. I had this on my old iPhone 6 also, that the button would move but sometimes it wasn't moving at all. So my question is, how is your home button?

The next thing is a little bit of dirt on top right between the glass and the body (see picture attached). I tried everything to get rid of it and you only see it if the light falls directly on it.

The last thing is so small that you normally don't see it, but during my tries to remove the dirt I saw that between the glass and the body is a very very tiny gap. I don't even know if it is a gap or normal production tolerance. It is the left circle on the picture and even there it is very hard to see.

All in all I'm not sure if I should request a replacement because everything else is fine and I don't want to start a replacement race over the next month. I also ordered a silicone case and after I put this on I cannot even see the affected area any more. I just had the case 3-4 times that the home button just worked after I clicked it a second time but in the end I can exchange the Phone at a later point of time if the button stops working.

Please let me know what you would do in my place because I cannot think about anything else a the moment.

Finally got my replacement (that was a major PITA). I thought everything was good but then I saw what appears to be a speck of dust under the camera glass. Call me OCD or whatever you want but I would prefer to have a phone that does not have issues.

Not sure about a defect, but this thing gets BLAZINGLY HOT sometimes and the battery percentage starts tumbling. Mainly happens when I'm using it while charging or if it's updating/restoring, though last night it was sitting in the case just sizzling.

Anyone who's gotten their new iPhone replaced at an Apple store in the last couple days, did you get it replaced with a new one from a new sealed box or was it a refurbished one? Can you tell if you're given a refurbished as a replacement?

Only way you get a brand new retail unit is to try and reserve one and do an exchange or return & repurchase. Problem now is that if you received it on launch you are past your 14 day window so you would be left with a white box replacement which still at this point should be new.
