I have a popping / clicking screen and a 10% darker top left quarter of the display. One of the reasons I upgraded to the 6S from my 6 was the naive belief that these issues might have been addressed.

I am no longer prepared to visit the "genius" bar, so I've purchased another and will return the worst one. I've been here before and it does come to something when you have to choose which phone is the least worst!

If I decide to hold off getting a replacement and that I can live with the discoloration for now, is there any downside to waiting a month before trying to get a replacement at an Apple store hoping that in a month the replacements will be defect free? Is it possible that with waiting they wont offer a replacement?

Of course they can replace the device if the genius specialist finds it a defect at a later point in time.

I waited about 6 months before I started up the exchange game again only to come back out at square one with a darker upper left corner and a yellow tinge that goes from left to right that turns to a cool blue. Oh and my FaceTime camera washer thing is shifting over again. Yay that's the main reason I sent it in! I'm done now 7 iPhone 6's later. At least I have a new battery and iOS 8.4.1 for another year. I really hope the iPhone 7 is better.

non issue. most phones have backlight non-uniformity. If not there, then somewhere else along the display.
Be grateful it's not in the middle of the display.

Hello, All.

I noticed, what looks like to be a scuff mark, on the antenna band under the home button and above the charging port. It is on the space grey 16 GB iPhone 6S. I have seen some earlier posts on this forum and seen customers/users receive the defect on their iPhone 6S's & iPhone 6S Plus's. Would any member know if this is a factory defect? Would any member have a idea as to what can be done about this situation? Mind you, I have bought my iPhone 6S from the AT&T store. I would really appreciate any comments or answers.

I have this backlighting issue as well on my iPhone 6s Plus. Multiple shadows/ bleeding at the top of the screen. It can only be seen on light backgrounds. Anybody experiencing similar backlight bleeding?View attachment 589387
I noticed something similar but not as bad as in your picture. I get a shadow when I look at the phone at a near-90 degree angle as well as some small bright spots from the LEDs in the backlight, while on a 6 the screen stays completely white with no spots on top no matter where I look.

Was it on Next or Full Price? If it was me, I'd probably return it. The stores are probably not too kind and will probably charge the restocking fee. If they did, I would then turn to customer service to see if I could get a bill credit to nullify that. I'm not sure if it's best to tell the ATT store about the defect or not, those people may come up with "you did it." Or perhaps you have great people at your particular store, I don't know.

Unless you are trying to get 2 year contract phone, I would recommend buying your replacement at Apple.com since you can return so easy and they give you a FedEx pre-paid return label at their website with no restocking fee.

It's starting to sound like all Plus have this issue? I wonder if anyone here doesn't have it? It would be helpful in our decision making on returns, to see if the top binding / shadow effect at angle is a new characteristic (not particularly desirable) of the displays in the 6S Plus.

Mine is not even a Plus so it may affect many more. Mine is only noticeable if I try to look though, it's a very picky issue. I still would have expected the same or better quality as a regular 6.

just bought a 6s plus yesterday. Defective out of the box as usually. Dust and the front and back camera :-(

I have returned 6 of the 6S 128 Rose Golds and a few silvers just cause of dust in the screen or the camera. It's crazy

Had this problem last year had to exchange my phone 4 times what going on with Apple QC.

Looks like it's now all about quantity over quality!

I've had to exchange once due to dust under the screen... kinda kills the "new device" excitement for me!

My speakers are going in and out! Also sometimes when I'm trying to send a text message a gray bar be in the typing line causing me to reset my phone for it to go away

It's possible they could give you a hard time about a replacement if they consider the phone within specification. Also no guarantee (and not likely) that phone screens will be any better in a month. If you are unhappy with the phone I would return it within the 2 week no questions asked period.

Does anyone has a lose 3.5mm headphone jack fit? I swear it is a lot looser when i have headphones plugged and they come off with virtually no effort at all. I don't know how to explain it. 6s Plus 64gb At&t.

My first replacement was like this. New one is not (didn't exchange for this reason)

I have 3 days before my 14-day return window ends...no replacement 6s+ are in store. Have been checking everyday. They want me to return and repurchase vs getting it fixed under warranty (which I agree with) but if there aren't any in store I'm screwed.

My first 6s had a defective vibration motor...it sounded like the phone was full of gravel when I got a phone call, e-mail, or text. Apple swapped it and the second one is fine, except this one has the freezing issue.

Oh well, not gonna swap again, it's such a hassle.
