Actually you're the one being dramatic by calling people nuts for expecting their expensive iPhones to not have dings, scratches, dust under the lens and screen, etc.. when they take them out of the freaking box! Some of us are capable of keeping these phones in near perfect condition for a year or two and like to resell them the next time we upgrade. This kind of crap depreciates their value.

I concur!

I have my 6s Plus sitting here, not opened yet, and I'm really afraid of some defects from reading the posts you guys have about yours

Someone get his tin hat.

Don't be paranoid. Enjoy it and if you aren't satisfied exchange it or return it.

I would say just set it up as a new phone, apparently doing the back up was a huge mistake and has frozen my phone. Partially why the 9.1 OS was created.

I'm on my 7th iPhone 6 in a year because of various defects. But my main concern is the display. All of them I've had and seen out in public have had some part of the screen that was darker than the other or had a yellow tinge. And the color temperature would shift from a yellowish to a cool blue left to right. Whoever Apple had making the displays really did a poor job and most people don't notice these things. It's really distracting when reading black text on a white background. In fact just using this very forum I see it and it drives me nuts. I'm curious to see if the iPhone 6S screens are of better quality and better backlight/color temp uniformity. Please report back!

Yeah, I can bet that it’s not the phone that is the problem.

Just inspected mine top to bottom and I can breathe easily seeing nothing wrong with it.

I also did a dead pixel test and thank god nothing. *phew*

I have what seems like a dead pixel to the right of the battery icon on my 6s Plus.

It looks like a black smudge.

I've had the iPhone 4, 4s, 5, 5s, 6 Plus and now 6s Plus.

This is the first screen defect I've had.

I have a similar issue: a dead pixel or two (it looks like a thin line) in the actual battery icon. I have a 6S.

I don't know if its a factory defect or not...but I cannot get my mom's stupid phone to activate. I've called Apple, went to Verizon and now back talking with Apple. Everyone is pointing fingers at everyone else. It is beyond frustrating.

My 6S has a very light gray bar of discoloration about a quarter of an inch from the top of the screen going all the way across from the left to the right. The bar itself is only about an eighth of an inch tall. Seems to be lined up right with the bottom of the mute switch. Most noticeable on white like when the phone is starting up or on the dialer tab of the Phone app. Not worth exchanging imho though. My 6 had a speck of dust under the screen and before that I went through five iPhone 5's before giving up and just accepting it as part of life with today's technology.

I have an issue where the live wall paper isn't working. Figuring it's just a software issue, called apple support and they had me do a few different kinds of resets. No dice. She then had me do a remote diagnostics and said I had a hardware issue and they have to do an exchange. Charged me a full price hold on my credit card while I wait plus a ship and handle fee of about $31. The phone is perfect cosmetically and the display is excellent. After hearing all the issues you guys are having I'm seriously considering keeping the original device and skipping the replacement. Maybe buy AppleCare+ just in case it really craps out down the road. Hmmmm

Just make sure your fitness tracking features work. If the wallpaper doesn't move that could be a problem with either the motion coprocessor or one of the sensors. That might be worth risking an exchange for.

Yeah, Verizon sent me a beautiful, state of the art brick.

Iphone 6s Plus, 64G, Space Gray, will not turn on, charge, etc., right out of the box.

Dead on arrival.

Replacement order delivery date: 10/12/15

ugh.

Same here! Same exact model from Verizon. Completely dead, won't turn on at all. Did you return through an Apple store or through Verizon?

After some further searching, found in a different location here on this forum that the "live wallpaper" only works on the lock screen, when you hold-press the screen. Nothing else seems to be wrong with the phone at all. Its perfect in every way. I think the rep misread the logs and as it was the end of day for them, faster to process an exchange. Lol Geeze! I'll call AppleCare back tomorrow and have them do another diagnostics to make certain there isn't a hardware issue and hopefully they can reverse this mess tonight and I can get the holds released ASAP. smh

Can I just say that I'm glad I don't have a clue as to what most of you are even speaking of. Mine seems fine thank goodness.

Just reading through this post really has me shocked with the quality control

got two 6 plus 128GB, both have a blueish tinge on left edge of screen, almost like the book spine effect frequently seen on the ipad air 2s, not as bad but noticeable.

My wife's 6S had the same defect. Blue tinge on the lower left edge. I requested a replacement.

You have to pay $31 because it was the manufacturer's fault that the unit is defective? LOL???

Yeah, the refurbished 6's are terrible. All I received either had a terrible screen or other external problems (black spots (leftover glue?) on top of the glass, mushy home buttons, really noisy vibration etc.) (At least the ones from this summer, the one I received in November due to crescent'gate' was fine, until the foam started moving over the camera again...) That's actually the reason why I decided to sell the last, fairly decent one I got and buy a new 6s.

It pains me to buy Apple Care again, knowing how bad the replacements eventually get.

I'd love to sell my 6, I got a decent one, but I like to have an example of each generation.

I have my fingers crossed they fixed the front camera obstruction as I don't want to lose my 6S Plus that came today over that again! My 6 last year was perfect out of box too and that front camera obstruction (which even affected my pictures) took it away from me.

I guess I should feel fortunate.. I've had a lot of Apple products over the years and I've never had an issue with any of them out of the box.. The worst problem I had was an all-in-one iMac from '06 where the screen got all these vertical lines in the display, but it was four years old by then.. I had a MacBook with a dead HDD within a year of purchase, but was replaced by Apple for no charge.

So far as the iPhone 6S goes, it's gorgeous. it's going to take a while to get used to it because I'm coming from a 5S, so there's a lot of changes to get used to here, changes that iPhone 6 people have already adapted to.

The bigger size is okay.. I guess..
