My new 6S Plus is completely dead out of the box. I have it plugged in trying to charge it, hoping the battery is just dead, but it is not looking good.

Yep, battery should not be dead. In the past all of my iPhone's had over 50%, my 6S+ had 79% out of the box. Return it as the battery should not be dead.

The top of the screen on my 6s has about 5 areas where it appears the LED's from the backlight wash down. Kind of like a cheaper led sidelight television. Depending on the color of the screen or menu bar it is more or less noticeable. If you tilt the phone back you can notice it more as well.

You have to pay $31 because it was the manufacturer's fault that the unit is defective? LOL???

Yep, found out later that if you have AppleCare+ then that fee is waved. I'm sure they have discretion to wave it but I guess I was just too nice, wasn't crying on the phone, or anything like that. Lol

I may have gotten a bad phone. It has locked up three times in the first evening. A couple times it froze when I tried to unlock the phone. A couple other times once I got to the home screen, it froze there and my swipes wouldn't work.

I also had a couple apps, including the watch app, hang and have to be force closed. I had already updated to 9.0.01 (which took a couple tries) then updated to 9.1 beta hoping that would be better. The phone seems to hang fairly often.

Also, is live wallpaper supposed to move when it's on the home screen? I force pressed and mine doesn't.

I'm going to give it a couple days and might have to restore it. If it doesn't work I may have to get a replacement. Never had an issue with an iPhone out of the box before.

It was not just the battery that was dead, it was the phone. I charged it for an hour and a half and nothing. I could never turn it on or get it to do anything. It was like they failed to load the software on the phone.

The live wallpaper only animates on the lock screen when you force touch. The home screen image is static from what I've been able to find.

I also had this issue on my 6S with the shadow like screen. Returned it and exchanged it at Verizon today and the one I have now is fine.

I picked up a 6S Plus at the store and any time I try to place a call there's a loud beep coming out of the side of the phone.

Literally millions of phones shipped & a couple of dozen people getting defects does not equal a systematic QC problem (although it's obviously annoying if it's your phone affected!). They are made by humans, after all.

Of the limited people on this site. Imagine how wide spread it is...

I have never seen this kind of post here where many people report issues like this...

I've now seen 3x 64GB iPhone 6s Plus, and all 3 have the blue tinge spine, with a small pressure point toward the lower left edge of the screen.

saw both a 6S and 6S Plus model in Best buy today, both have the blue spine on left side. the 6 and 6 plus models on display did not. May just wait a few months and continue with my 6 for now, which has a great screen. Really disappointing because Im getting to like the size of the plus.

Both of my phones, 64gb iPhone 6s+ Space Grey, and they have the the blue spine on left and small pressure point about 1cm above bottom left corner too. One is definitely more noticeable then the other. Shame.

The highly noticeable one I'm going to try and exchange with genius.

I'd exchange the one that's really noticeable. Seems to be par for the course on some of these. The 6s has its own issues, namely patchiness to the backlight. I felt that last year's 6 was similar in that regard.

I have always had pixel/screen issues on launch day, and this year is no different. 64gb 6s plus has a dead pixel, and a 64gb 6s has a speck of something under the screen.

I may let the dead pixel go for now, I am planning on getting AppleCare for it anyway, so can always warranty replace it later. The 6s with the noticeable speck, I am going to try and swap it first at the at&t store, and if they won't do it I will take it to apple for replacement.

Your issues are 100% software that can be fixed without swapping the device. Restore the phone fresh in itunes and start there. Also, don't run a beta and then say you have software issues- that should be obvious.

Nothing you said is a hardware issue where a swap will change anything.

Not sure if it is the same problem as "mobster1983", but my girlfriends 6s locked up on her and keeps vibrating as though the haptic just keeps going off for no apparent reason. And when a phone call comes in the phone vibrates but she cannot answer it. Almost like the phone just went kaput. She is unable to do anything. She is unable to turn it off as well to try and restart the phone.

Maybe hooking it up to the computer will do something, but if not I guess we are headed to an Apple store in the morning and fight the crowds of people. Not too happy that an $800 dollar device does not work properly. Never had an issue with any other iPhone.

Anyone else have an issue like this? Hopefully it is just a software issue.

I'll just post here instead of making a new thread because the forums are probably going to blow up later today. I took a quick look at the phone when I opened the box and noticed this pry mark near the charging port. And the aluminum is bent. It's hard to get a good photo of it. Chances of them replacing it with one that isn't like this? I've never had to take one back because they are usually good.

Don't they replace if it is functional defect? Not cometic?

Ok here's one for people to look for, my iPhone 6S Plus has it; as does my wife's. I am not going to return it as I believe its a design issue rather than a fault. I checked a few demo units in the Apple Store I was in, and they all had it too. Have a look at your iPhone 6s Plus screen carefully, about 2/3 of an inch up from the bottom, on the left hand side, there appears to be a pressure point, fairly faint, which causes a slight light spot on white or bright screens. I don't have a camera with me I will try and post it later. Not trying to start a "gate" or anything just an observation.

Edit: Added a photo for those interested. Sorry for the abysmal quality.

Yep! I have the exact same spot on my 6S+. I've been debating attempting an exchange, but if all the demo units have it, maybe I shouldn't chance fate as my screen is otherwise of good quality. Hmmmm... Not a huge deal I guess, but not what I expected for a $1k phone.

Nice photo. Exactly what I was describing.

Great, I appear to have it too, though very hard to see on mine, so maybe not as bad. Combined with my dead pixel, I am kind of annoyed. Almost just want to return it and try again in a month or two.
