Yep! I have the exact same spot on my 6S+. I've been debating attempting an exchange, but if all the demo units have it, maybe I shouldn't chance fate as my screen is otherwise of good quality. Hmmmm... Not a huge deal I guess, but not what I expected for a $1k phone.
I checked about 5 phones, different colors, all had it to some degree. Looking at the teardowns I believe it could be the edge of the haptic engine pressing against the screen or the bottom corner of the battery.

My slight defect is that the sleep/wake/mute toggle on my 6s doesn't shift fully to the on position, it moves way more when I turn the mute on then when I turn on sound. It still works but it's not as full of a movement between settings as my wife's 6s. I arranged the express repair so they're sending me a new one, then I return the old one within 10 days. Any reason to think they wont agree with it being a big problem and I'll get charged some fee, or are they pretty good about simple exchanges like this for a brand new phone?

Ok here's one for people to look for, my iPhone 6S Plus has it; as does my wife's. I am not going to return it as I believe its a design issue rather than a fault. I checked a few demo units in the Apple Store I was in, and they all had it too. Have a look at your iPhone 6s Plus screen carefully, about 2/3 of an inch up from the bottom, on the left hand side, there appears to be a pressure point, fairly faint, which causes a slight light spot on white or bright screens. I don't have a camera with me I will try and post it later. Not trying to start a "gate" or anything just an observation.

Edit: Added a photo for those interested. Sorry for the abysmal quality.

Same thing on mine.

This all sounds so typical of Apple products. It's a shame. I'm still waiting on mine, and it is beginning to be something I'm dreading. Good luck to all. If you bought direct from Apple, I'd just send it back to them and buy another one, despite the wait. I think this is a reason not to buy from carrier "just in case."
You can return a carrier-purchased phone to an Apple store for repair or replacement. At least I was able to do this four years ago.

look at the display demo 6s plus at the announcement:

obvious backlight dimming up top

:p
That screen looks great, i'll take it... j/k, mine is awesome. ;)

Correct. I just did this today on my completely dead pre-ordered Verizon 6S Plus 64GB. Brought it into an Apple store and was able to exchange it for another brand new one on the spot.

Mine has the pressure point mark as well, and so do every 6s+ on display at the Apple Store. So there's no point in exchanging. Sigh.

dL

I have what seems like a dead pixel to the right of the battery icon on my 6s Plus.

It looks like a black smudge.

I've had the iPhone 4, 4s, 5, 5s, 6 Plus and now 6s Plus.

This is the first screen defect I've had.

I have the same.exact.spot !!! Trivial as it may sound, and look, it just annoys the hell outta me because I always end up looking at it!

The top of the screen on my 6s has about 5 areas where it appears the LED's from the backlight wash down. Kind of like a cheaper led sidelight television. Depending on the color of the screen or menu bar it is more or less noticeable. If you tilt the phone back you can notice it more as well.
My iPhone 6S+ has the exact same issue. Are you going to exchange yours? I'm still debating.

Yep that's exactly it on the two units I have in front of me. Seems it's not worth exchanging the device for it. Just have to learn to live with it. Thanks, Apple!

I'm having a repeat of my last year's 6+ display situation - nasty dead pixel on a brand new iPhone 6S Plus :-(
Only this time it's smack bang in the middle of the screen, so I can't even imagine keeping the phone. So I just called AppleCare, they are sending replacement, etc, etc - but still, the mood is kinda ruined.

And excuse me for ranting, but how hard is it to get a decent screen?? I'm a developer and work with a lot of phones, and never saw a dead pixel on phones from Samsung, Nokia, Motorola, etc. And those are typically half the bloody price!

Would have hoped Apple would have cut you off by now. You're too critical. I have never returned a single phone (since ip1) for any reason.
Good for you.
And you would keep the iPhone below as well, wouldn't you?
Yeah, Verizon sent me a beautiful, state of the art brick.

Iphone 6s Plus, 64G, Space Gray, will not turn on, charge, etc., right out of the box.

Dead on arrival...

same phone, same issue and exact same spot...I decided to live with it before but I'm good now that know others have the same

No issue with mine. No backlight bleeding and no yellow tint issues. No pressure point on mine. Just perfect. 6S+ AT&T 128 GB

I have really bad luck with Apple devices. My iPhone 4S got damaged WiFi module just after one year usage, I had to pay for repair myself. My Macbook Pro got damaged SSD. It was replaced by warranty, but it took one month. After 2 years my Macbook Pro's audio output was stuck with some kind of digital laser beam, sound doesn't work for me. Power adapter died. And all cables after 2 years starting to wear off.

My iPhone 6s has a slightly darker, shadowed area in the upper left corner of the screen; definitely noticeable on an all-white screen, and now that I've seen it, I can't un-see it. I'll likely try to have it exchanged, but I'm also wondering if this is similar to the yellow patches some folks saw the past few years, which had to do with an adhesive that needed to dry, and which resolved on their own?

I've got a weird issue with the display - at the very top edge, there's noticable "banding" of the backlight brightness, so rather than being uniform, there's bright "bands" and darker "bands"... it's especially pronounced when you are viewing the display at any angle other than directly front-on...

I'm gonna either return for refund within the 14 day period and repurchase, or try and get a swap

Actually this basically sounds like my issue too... I remember I had this problem with my 3GS when I got it as well, and they exchanged it without issue then so hopefully it'll be the same now with the 6s Plus
