I think I will be holding on to my 6S Plus for a while. I think I have finally reached Apple fatigue as I have little desire to upgrade to any of the newer products when all is my stuff is working just fine. Newer devices will have to have killer features to get my hard earned dollar.

The 6s and the 6s+ will be mainstays for many years to come because of the 2gb ram.

If you have the 6 or worse, the 6+...Apple went to the 1gb ram well one time too many. Those two models will age quickly. The latter especially.

Tried out the 7 briefly and found no compelling reason to keep it. Thus, I went back to my 6s since it works perfectly fine. I will wait and see what the next generation offers and make a decision from there.

We will see a 7s. Remember Tim Cook said "it has a gorgeous new design" refering to the 7.
That would suck. If the phone looks the same with the same bezels/home button I won't be getting the new iPhone for the first time.

4 years with the same design is crazy

So you think Apple is going to carry the iPhone 6 form factor for 3 years?
iPhone 7S Plus (2017) - same design with internal upgrades
iPhone 8 Plus (2018) - all new design
iPhone 8S Plus (2019) - same design with internal upgrades
So if you holding up until iPhone 8S (as you mentioned in your previous post) it's pretty long way

I don't think we're going to see the same design. I think we will see a stainless casing option, with a glass front and backing, perhaps an OLED model for the larger 5.5 or 5.8 inch model, edge to edge to display. I think the 4.7 inch will retain the aluminum base. Apple is pushing the plus model to be the mainstream iPhone with the dual camera.

I guess we'll wait and see. I don't see Apple going with the same design 3 years in a row.

I bought only affordable iPhone for me iPhone SE 16GB, I'm very satisfied, really no complain.
But same would be and with iPhone 6s or iPhone 7, Plus is to big for me.
Not iPhone 8, I think iPhone 7s would be interesting, a lot of buyers with previous S models wait new S, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6s, etc... Personally I would like more iPhone 7s than iPhone 8, later when 8s show up I would thing about 8 series.

Yes. The 7 sucks.

I tried both the 6S and 7 and found no reason to keep either over the 6. In fact, I found plenty of reasons not to keep them: thicker, heavier, speaker phone worse, lots of other little stuff. Force touch is stupid and I never used it. Yuck.

i'm holding up iphone 5 because 5s, 6, 6s, 7, 7s have such a small mini steps For me it is not worth it to upgrade. More over, I changed battery myself and it is a strong device. Most likely I will not update to the next IOS. Every update I install 15% of speed is gone.

Definitely avoid upgrading iOS. That's Apple's way of forcing you to upgrade.

I have a 6s plus now. He's fast with iOS 10.3 but, it's a 16GB device and I can see the limits of the storage now. So I will wait for the next iPhone

I have a 6S and a 6S+ that I am currently using along with several Android phones. My excitement over new iPhones started to fade beginning with the 5S. I'm more excited for the Note 8 then anything which will be my next phone.

I was already having battery life issues and experiencing stutters on the iPhone 6 (A8). Since the carriers were running a $650 credit with trade-in + installment plan promo, figured might as well upgrade to the iPhone 7.

Anyway, if the 2017 iPhone is compelling enough, I have the option to either trade in the 7 (so effectively getting $325 credit for my 6) or pay full price for the new iPhone so I could continue receiving full credit on the 7.

What a iPhone 6 v4 doesn't turn you on... It will be the BEST BEST EVER...

I skipped the 7 as it was no great improvement on the 6S+ I had. I bought an Android flagship to use for a year instead. I'm now finally at the point where I can buy either an iOS or Android device depending on which wows me the most. I'm genuinely a floating smartphone buyer now.

They already have done with the 6/6S/7

I predict 2017 will see ...

iPhone 7s, same design, $650
iPhone 7s plus, same design, $770
iPhone X, new design, $880

Like every year... I rushed out and bought an iPhone 7. I have had every new iPhone on its release day since iPhone 4s and I wasn't gonna change this year. However after a few days of usage I noticed that my SE was about as fast as the iPhone 7 so I decided to return the phone.

I had a coworker selling an iPhone 6s Plus for dirt cheap and decided to buy it from him. I have been using the 6s Plus since then AGAIN...

Basically I went from 4s to 5 to 5c to 5s to 6 to 6 Plus to 6s Plus to SE to 7 to SE to 6s Plus again. I'm very happy with my 6s...

If by holding out you mean waiting for my contract to end then getting the 8, yes... I am holding out.

No iPhone 8 till September 2018. This is a "S" year:mad: which means same overall design with some internal upgrades and fancy new colors :D
You don't think Apple will produce something better than an S model on the 10th anniversary of the iPhone?

Haha, whatcha drinking homey?

I'm very interested in seeing it. I feel it's going to be a special phone. The iPhone 7 just felt so uninspired, that I knew deep down it was because they were focused on making their 10th anniversary phone special.

However, not sure I can go back to ios as my primary device.

You were smart to skip the 7 if you had a 6S. for me It was night and day coming from a 6+. Apple is going to take a pretty big risk in releasing a new iPhone this year that looks like the iPhone 6. Not all consumers are techy like us and won't even understand or care about the internals if it looks the same.

Sold my 6S and am currently using a Pixel. If I owned a 7 and the 8 came out with breathtaking features, then I would be pissed.

If Apple only releases one model with redesign...they will only have themselves to blame if 2017 sales are disappointing.

There are plenty of capable phones, both Android and iOS based, out there in the mid and high price points.

Everyone will have to work harder to get
people to spend $$$ on a new phone.

1. iPhone 7 is new hardware. It's just the same CASE

2. Why do you think the average user wants a new design all the time? Take a look around next time you are out in public. Most are using 5s, 6, 6s etc. People care about how a phone WORKS and its PRICE not how it looks. That's just left for fanatics and geeks. This is why the SE is such a success.

3. Every year, EVERY YEAR, we have the same debate about what the next phone so going to be called despite the naming convention being in place since 2009. It might be the iPhone 5, no it's the 4s....it might be the 6 no it's the 5s and so on.

4. Get used to the slow down on design. It's Apple. They only update when it's needed. Look at iPod touch. Look at Mac mini, Apple TV, airports, MacBook Air all 5 years plus designs. Look at iPad....you could argue the latest Pro is the same as iPad Air 1 albeit refined. All hardware will be refined not completely changed.

5. Many other phone manufacturers don't bother with radical designs. Samsung etc. All refinements that's all.

6. Apple will acknowledge the 10 year anniversary but if you think Tim Cooks Apple will do anything other than the predictable 7s....well...it will be disappointing

7. If cosmetic design changes are more important than performance of internal hardware and software then maybe an iPhone isn't for you.

I just upgraded to the SE from the 5s specifically b/c I'm not wild about the design of the 6/6s/7. Give me a bezel-less 4.7" iPhone and I'm all in.
I kind of want an SE but I'm holding onto my 6 Plus. Just had the battery replaced so I should be good for a while. Gonna try to get to September of 2019 with this thing. iOS 10.1.1 will be its last software update.
