Hell nah.

I’ve gone caseless since the original iPhone up until the 6 Plus. I never cracked a screen in my life *knocks on wood*. But I regretted it so much on the 6 Plus because I always had hairline scratches on the screen, oleophobic wears out unevenly, nicks/dents on the aluminum and a the camera module had scuffs that went through the finish where it would be layed down flat on a table. And I’m very good with my electronics! Never again.

I don’t like cases too much but I found the Apple Leather case to feel the most “premium” next to the iPhones glass and metal feel. And a tempered glass screen protector feels almost identical to the bare screen; plus, they’re so cheap that you can throw it away if it scratched or the oleophobic coating wears off!

I don’t use a case, but I do use a soft pouch. Cases often require the user to take them off and clean the phone, or risk dirt and dust accumulating and potentially scratching the back/sides of the device. I’ve seen it happen.
Thank you! That's why I use only those cases with the microfiber liner inside. Apple's leather cases and a few others have that. Any dust or sand will simply stay in the micro-crevices and away from my phone. All my phones (since using these cases) have been flawless after years of use.

This "slippery" stuff doesn't matter at all to me.
I'm a "naked, no case" user, (never had a case of any kind), but I am also a 2-handed user.

Am I alone in almost never using only one hand?

Do you use your index finger to navigate? I want to be a two handed user. And are you using a Max phone or regular?

I've rarely used a case since the 3G, and I upgrade every year. I dislike the way that cases look and feel, the added bulk, and all of the crud that builds up inside of a case. I do pop a case on when I'm at the gym, on a run, or working in the yard, for example, but I take it off when I'm done with that activity. I've had a few iPhones fly out of my Jeep's dashboard storage and slam into the metal part of the door when taking a sudden sharp turn without any damage to the device (I check very closely, and I'm otherwise very careful :) ). I know that the phones are glass and easily damaged, but I just prefer the feel and look of a caseless phone.

I took my wife's Otterbox off of her iPhone 4, and I was amazed at all of the crud that had built up inside of that enclosure: it was like sandpaper had been rubbing against the device for a year.

yes! I’m so glad to find someone else that does this. why does it have to be one or the other and not both? I don’t use a case in normal situations but I put one on when doing something physical like the gym where there is more risk (or if I’m out drinking)

As much as I love Apple leather cases, I use the case for a few days and immediately regret it. Nothing like holding hardware that looks good and feels good like this particular model. Yep, rocking it with no case.

i bought the clear case with my new iPhone 11 Pro but am thinking of not using it all

I bought the iPhone 11 (6.1") and for the first time ever, selected the case that Apple was 'touting" on the order page, mainly because it was clear. After I received the phone, I slipped the case on it (very tight fit IMO. Appears to provided excellent protection, but so far I haven't been able to remove it due to the tight fit.

Sure, I could remove it if I applied enough torque, but I'm leery about doing so. The side button is hard to push which may be good in that it prevents turning the phone to standby inadvertently. Don't know if Apple touts a similar case for the Pro and the Max, but if so, I don't think I would recommend one.

Update: I just got the cover off after applying more muscle. The case for the 6.1" weighs just under an oz and certainly adds thickness as well.

I think I would return it, but I think Apple's policy is 14 days now.

I had the same issue with the clear case for the ProMax: it was very tight and difficult to remove. I decided that I won’t do that a second time, so I returned it.

nope. I use both hands, so I use whichever is closer. (Who would limit themselves to just one finger? I don't get it... Ya have 10 to choose from, after all.

No way will I ever go caseless! I am a cell phone case lover. I have a really nice battery case on my iPhone X that I bought in June. With sliding it in and out of my pocket it is very scuffed up already. But my phone inside is perfect. I also keep a glass screen protector over the screen too.

‘it’s not been 14 days since launch yet..

I drop my phone at least once a week. I can’t imagine how many phones I’d have bought if I went commando.

Favorite cases are Apple leather and $7 clear silicone. Never a break in 500ish drops.

I don’t use a case. I love how the phone feels without a case. I do however use a screen protector. I don’t like the micro scratches I always tend to get.

I find a caseless iPhone to be extremely uncomfortable to use. It’s slippery. It slides on certain surfaces. It’s made of glass front and back. No thanks.

Naked they handle like a wet bar of soap. My case ads grip and feels more comfortable than the phone alone

‘yeah like OP I like something that provides a little stickiness - so when I’m juggling the phone in one hand I feel more confident with it. Eg when I unhook my little finger to shuffle my thumb to the top of the screen

but it is always tempting to try and go naked. I have a screen protector front and rear (glass front, plastic rear) so that should help with scratches, and I have AC+ so I should be ok but still uncertain

I've been using the Apple leather cases on all my phones since the iPhone 6. When I've removed the cases I've never seen any dust on the inside and never any scratches on the phone.

Agree. I tried the Apple clear case for my Pro because I wanted to see the gold color, but found it slippery and bulky and took it off. I'm back to the Apple leather case.

I go caseless at home. Too scared to leave the house without one so far. #stoopkidsafraidtoleavethestoop

Actually I received the case on Sept 18, so today is 14 days. I may drop into my local store and check out returning it tomorrow. Thanks for the post reminding me.

No, I mostly use one hand as well.

Both when I had the old phones includning the Plus models, the XS last year, and now the 11 Pro Max with the bigger screen again.

going to try naked at weekends at home - although we have hard floors and my office during the week has carpet. See how I get on with the slipperiness. Rear film protector (came with my rhinoshield NX bumper) might help make the back a little grippier too.

Never used a case (or a screen protector) on any of my phones since I bought my first one - a Nokia 3310 IIRC.
