I use a case. I got a Speck Presidio Pro and just put a Zagg glass screen protector on my Pro Max today.

I’d love to not use a case but for me it just doesn’t work. I’m not hard by any means on my phone but I like having that piece of mind. I dropped my X several time that I know if it had not had a case it would have been damaged. But I read on here that many don’t use anything with no issue.

I think it’s going to come down to personal preference obviously. I keep my phone on my desk at work so it’s always out. At home it’s out. When I’m out and about I carry A small sling bag that has a dedicated soft pocket for electronics.

and with the camera setup I like that the camera is protected when my phone is flat. That is just what works for me.

I alternate depending on what I’m doing. If I’m just sat at home or in the office naked. If I’m at the gym or out and about all day. Case.

The phone and its haptics were designed to be touched the way it is. I see the wish for protection, but i really like it without a case. I only use a case in rare circumstances (travelling, holiday...)

... one might want to replace "phone" and "case" with other words - this as well is nicer too. 😎

I use a bumper and a spigen case..makes the most sense for me.

i don’t have apple care yet

The real question is what is everyone occupation who uses phones without cases?

my attorney friends who are primary in office and desk work. I’ve seen them go without cases

the guys involved in construction project design out in the field use thick cases.

I always used Speck Grip case, I am convinced this is the best case. It adds bulk but protection too. Never I had cracked screen or cracked dented body. For $30-40 they last for years.

I drop it, through it around, slide it around....phone is protected. Its nicer to have no case, but its a huge risk for a mobile device you carry around everywhere with such a price tag. The only scenario possible, I see, not to use a case is with a woman who carries a purse, and brings the phone to use, and after that put it back in the bag.

Naked with screen protector..yet. None of the damn stores in the area carry any 11 pro protectors.

Oddly enough the one time I feel it is safer to go without a case is at the beach. If I drop it, the sand will absorb a lot of the impact. I can shake it off and be fine. With a case, the sand clings to the case and tries to make its way in. So as far as the phones are concerned, every beach is a nude beach. 😬

I always go caseless. Just my personal preference.

No use in having premium build quality and materials if you’re covering it up in plastic. I enjoyed feeling the glass or aluminum on older models, and now glass and steel on current models. I also enjoyed the natural wear your phone gets over time. By the end of my iPhone 4’s life, it looked really cool. I do also like that “mint brand new look” but once I get a phone, I like to have them worn by the time I am ready to move on to a new phone

Others prefer cases in my family, my dad loved the silicon cases for the grip they provide

I tried to using my XS Max without a case whenever I’m home, but it’s too slippery. I always install screen protectors on the front and have been using the 3D glass protectors since they came out, to cover as much as the screen as possible. With my XS Max, I’ve been using clear cases which don’t add any bulk and have been helping the phone have more grip. Add to it, that my clear cases don’t have scratches and haven’t yellowed (been using them since May).

I’m always using my phones completely naked (no screen protector, no case) but I take very good care of them. I got a leather case for my iPhone X where I always put it in when I put my phone in my pocket because I don’t want it to get scratched. Also got AppleCare+ just in case. So far no major accidents 👌

I use a screen protector and a case always. Using the  leather case and it protected my Xs from a couple of minor drops.

To OP, you have a lot more guts than I do...I look both ways on a one-way street, so yes, I do have a clear case and InvisiGlass!

You ask yourself do you pull out the last second, go raw all the time? Is the risk worth looking at the potential damage(s)? Some people take these risks and some people don’t. I love the feeling of bareback but I am not about to pay for the outcome either.

That's what a vasectomy is for haha

So, I typically do not use cases. Over the weekend I picked up the midnight blue Apple leather case and watch band because I think they look great with the gold phone and watch. Well, today I dropped my phone from about 4 feet onto the wood floor in the house face down. Never have I been so happy to have a screen protector and case. No damage at all. Maybe I will keep the case on for a little while longer.

I've used the models over the past years without a case at all, same goes for my new iPhone 11 Pro Max. I love the design and feel of the phones without the cases, so I'll take the risk.

Never had any specific insurance for the phones though, so fingers crossed.
Living on the edge, I love it.

I was going without a case before but I picked up the silicone case this time around

I don’t use a case, but I do use a soft pouch. Cases often require the user to take them off and clean the phone, or risk dirt and dust accumulating and potentially scratching the back/sides of the device. I’ve seen it happen.
What is a soft pouch?

Nope, at my age I don't trust my grip to hold my X without a case. Have a case with soft rubber edges that make it easy to hold with arthritis.

I used to have a mous case on my xs doing the peel case now, but i think i will just run it naked. it is on the apple upgrade program and has apple care so might as well.

iPhone 4-8: no case
iPhone X: no case (only phone without case that was dropped (wife, not me) and broke
iPhone 11 Pro: green leather case

I have a track record of using a case for the first month and then never again. Probably going to do the same here

Do those cases make the phone heavier?
