So far no regrets getting hit eMate black iPhone 7 Plus. After two silver iPhones with white faces I was ready for a change and I'm really glad I changed. I like looking at the face of the phone when the screen is off and it almost looking like just a piece of black glass. You can barely make out the difference between the bezel and screen. Also I love th live wallpapers of the Siamese fighting fish with the black backgrounds on a black phone, hot.

Black and Jet Black are the two hot colors this year. the market is saturated with other colors and their values. Rose Gold and gold iphone 7 plus are widely available in apple store to pick up.

Black and white are neutral color. Hence it is easier to finder more buyer if you want to sell.

I wished they would have kept the space grey option! That was my favourite!

I ordered the jet black originally but didn't ultimately decided if it scratched I'd be gutted so I thought I'd go matt black.

I managed to reserve a silver at my local store and thought I'd go check them both out.

In the end I went silver and I love it. I think the mirrored apple on the back is a really nice touch!

I think the matt black is a bit more understated/stealthy.

personally I don't regret it. But if I see a 256 gb jet black magically become available in 14 days i'll see if i can exchange it for that model because...why not? jet black feels so nice

one thing I wonder is that why it took Apple a long time to have black phone. it is a popular color. is it because it is more complicated and cost more to anodize matte black?

plus the plastic band blends in perfectly with black aluminum. all other colors show contrast plastic band and it is so obvious that they are not one piece body.

So after numerous nights staying up til 12:01am and checking istocknow religiously I finally had my new iPhone 7 Plus MB 128gb two days ago.

Love it! Love the new camera, home button, the speed is like a dream. Nothing to complain.

...Except I don't know if I actually like the black phone that much...I've had a white phone since iPhone 4 so wanted a change. But first impression of the black one - feels kinda dirty? Matte Black is equally a fingerprint magnet as the jet black (just takes certain angles to show). The black bezel on the front also doesn't feel as clean as the white one.

I think the whole new color, the scarcity of the black phones really got to me....but now that I've actually had the black phone, thinking of taking it to apple store and exchange for gold or silver.

Is it true that I can take it to Apple Store in 14 days and exchange with no problem? Also anyone else liking their matte black w/o problem, especially girls?

I switched to black with the 6 Plus and couldn't stand it. Showed fingerprints all over the place and the ones by the home button drove me notes. Went back to white with the 6s Plus, and was so tempted to do black with the 7 Plus (they look sweet) but couldn't do it. White bezel doesn't show fingerprints at all, and the back of the 7 black and jet black is a fingerprint magnet. Does look dirty.

Jet black was my original first choice, but due to the insane shortage of stock I went for regular black. I would've liked the jet black, but I can't deny the matte black is a stunner. If people ask what colour it is I tell them Shadow Black, because ya know, it sounds boss haha.

In retrospect, the constant fingerprints on the jet black would bug me to no end.

#teammatteblack and love it!

Switched to silver after my 5 since Apple thought space gray was a good idea. Came back to black for the 7 since it looked amazing and was actually black.

They had a lot of scratching issues with the last black phone that they had, and since then they've gone to the space grey. There was a huge thread about it at the time: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/iphone-5-black-version-scuffs-merged.1445493/

coming from a gold 6s plus I love the matte and have no regrets

Its will get hot as hell here in Florida if you leave it in the sun for just a few minutes.

That's the only thing I don't like about the black.

say what?

Like others have said, I was really hoping for a 'pearl white' or glossy white to go along with the jet black. I do like my matte black though, very stealthy looking.

went from a matte black to a jetblack iPhone 7, I was able to swap these at my local Apple Store. Like the iPhone 6S, the matte black iPhone 7 feels like your holding a soapblock.
And I dont do cases/protectors. It totally ruins my user experience

The grip of this jetblack iPhone is phenomanal. Its like the iPhone sticks to your hand.
I think it is a stellar piece of design.

Now about 3 days in use, no single visible scratches. Using it naked (with AppleCAre+)
I am not the OCD guy who checks his iPhone every day in a full bright light searching for (ninor) scratches, I am just enjoying the jetblack to the fulliest.

I got the 7+ MB and it's great. The display JB phones at the store certainly didn't look good.

I suppose though if I had the guts to go caseless and accept the consequences I may have gone with the JB.

I bought the jet black and it looks terrible in clear cases. I wish I bought the matte black because all the matte colors look great in clear cases.

But my wife likes to remind me that if I bought the matte, I'd be sitting here wishing I bought the jet black.

I had a black 4, silver 5, gold 6+ and now JB 7. I definitely think the black face makes it look slicker, and I currently have it in a jet black case, which makes the whole thing look great.

I had a gold 6+ and a silver 5, and both of those got uncomfortably hot if left in direct sunlight for more than a few seconds.

I've just learned for the sake of my phone's health to avoid direct sun being on it for prolonged periods.

Edit: Bah, does it bother anyone else when MacRumors merges your comments?
Sometimes I hate comments merge and sometimes I use it to my advantage.

Regarding the clear cases, I learned a little something interesting when I wanted a clear case for my Blue coral Note 7, which is that clear cases often impart a dull and/or yellowish haze to a shiny phone surface. But the ones that come in a smoke gray clear will actually still let the color shine through and let the shine through, too. My Note 7 looked dull and dingy in a Ringke Clear case but looked really beautiful, almost as good as naked, in their smoke gray version. I think that's because it's really hard to get a truly pure looking colorless TPU plastic. For some reason they all have a haze even when they look clear off of the phone. At least in my experience of trying clear cases for cheap via Slickdeals. I was expecting the smoke gray to change the color of my Note 7 but it only enhanced it.

The phone will shut down when it gets too hot internally and the sun here in Florida is known to activate the safety feature quite easily.

I live in south florida, I'm familiar with the phone getting too hot. Sometimes the phone will disable the camera flash due to the heat too.

From your post though you said that's the only thing you hate about the black as if it didn't apply to the other color phones.

Bought a black one and returned it for silver one. Black was boring after 1 day.

I have a Jet Black Plus and it's definitely taking me time to get used to (just got it yesterday). What I LOVE is the fact that it looks like just one piece of glass when the phone is sleep. I love that uninterrupted look. But to me, the white face is better when the phone is on. That's the part I'm struggling with. I'm gonna give it a little more time though.

Same here but on the matte version. I've had the white face for the last 5 iPhones? I didn't think I would like the difference in the border for the face, esp within apps but I've gotten used to it.

I really love the whole black everything, including when the phone is on sleep.

No regrets.

But while I would like to have some personalization, any case would defeat the purpose...but I also had my last phone without a case (rose gold) and have ways of "personalization" that doesn't hinder resell value.
