I had black fronted iPhones since launch and wanted to try something different. Mine's in the leather case so it was a choice of white with silver ring or white with gold ring. I went for the silver because gold isn't me. If Apple had released a grey/gray fronted device, I probably would've gone for that though.

I do not regret it at all. In fact I would have been very disappointed with the silver or grey. I saw a silver one at best buy and I was so glad I chose the gold. Initially I was looking between silver and gold but just very glad I was patient and waited for this thing.

Would like it better if the TouchID ring was matte or less bright or w

I would have been sorely tempted by the gold 5s had one been avaiable when I picked up my space grey. It's a great looking phone in person, and generally not flashy. One exception is the metal ring around the home/Touch ID button, which is polished. That is bling, and it's not going to get covered by a case. If apple had made it matte, it would have fit in better with the rest of the phone.

My wife loves her Gold 5s....biggest issue we have is finding a case so you could actually see its the gold version!

I am starting to feel some regrets, can someone please elaborate what the exchange/return process is to try to get a space grey from the Apple Store?

To me, the gold iPhone screams:

"Hey! look at me! I'm insecure and need to be validated for the wrong reasons."

Another piercing or more ink on an an ugly-assed body part would be much cheaper.

Dumbest post in this thread, possibly whole forum. I got gold since I like the way it looks, and no, I am not regretting it.

So, did you get a gold iPhone and regret it?

All my previous phones were black so wanted to switch it up for the 5s. I have a case on mine so the only gold you see is around the home button.

Most likely will switch back to black front for the iPhone 6. I'm still adjusting to the white front 5s.

OK thanks. I'll sleep better knowing that.

No. I'm happy with who I am and don’t need flashy trinkets to influence what others think of me.

How about you?

I'm happy with my gold iPhone. Who's accusing you of not being happy of who you are? What's with the self affirmation?

Or maybe people bought the gold iPhone because they like the color. Do you also think guys with white/silver iPhones are girly too? I love how some people think the color of someone's phone says so much about them, when it doesn't say much. I'd get the gold iPhone if I was upgrading because I like trying out new things not because I want to show it off or want validation. Lol... I'm pretty sure most of us are out of high school.

After looking at all 3 5s colors in the Apple store, I think the silver is nicest, followed by grey, and then gold. It's not really the gold color itself that I don't like. It's the overall color-scheme they chose to go with it. I'm very glad I bought the silver...

I wasn't aware the OP was asking for your opinion seeing as you don't own one.

At first I thought the gold would be too flashy or girly. After receiving mine, however, the gold is really subtle and it's more of a champagne color. Classier than it is flashy. I don't think anyone in the business world would judge you just for having a different colored iPhone than black. From a few steps away the gold can easily be mistaken for a silver.

To me, this post screams:

"I have a personal problem with people not having the exact same taste as me, so I'm going to spread my maladjusted, judgmental opinions about them as much as I can because I'm insecure and need to be validated for the wrong reasons."

It's a new color for the new model of iPhone, and it appeals to some people. While I'm sure some people might want their phone noticed, for most of us we just want a phone that looks appealing to us.

Personally, I went with slate gray. The gold just doesn't appeal to me enough to own it (especially against the white. I was hoping for gold and black!) I'm not, however, forming extremely personal opinions about people just because they have a preference that I don't share.

Before I exchanged my 5s for a different color I made a post on here, and I was being told I wouldn't be able to exchange for a different color, and that I would only be able to return it. Well that's not the case they were more than willing to do an exchange for me, so just go in and tell them you want to exchange for another color and I'm sure they'll help you out.
