Everyone has their own preference so there isn't a wrong answer. When I actually saw the gold in the store in launch day. I didn't like it at all. The more I saw it after, I liked it even less.

I'm a man though and I'd buy the gold if I wanted it.

How could anybody fall for this? I mean even Apple employees mocked the gold iPhone. Indeed it is the Kim Kardashian of phones. The fad will fade quickly. :p

This.

And between that and the number of people who bought one just so people would know they had a 5S (and people did... I know one lol) resale will be interesting as well. Unless you're ok shipping to Asia (a CORRECT stereotype isn't a stereotype by the way, and sales in Asia of the KK iPhone bear the facts nicely)

So enjoy your KK iPhone. I'm sure it's "not gaudy" and "classy" and whatnot, but 10 bucks says once the hoopla dies down there will be a LOT of people that regret it.

If you don't, good for you! I hope you and Jay-Z have a diamond encrusted bagel to celebrate your non girlie phone :p

Seriously whatever makes people happy great, but if you don't think this is just a fad I dunno what to tell you... The illusion of exclusivity is a powerful motivator I guess.

The main reason i got it is for the ring around the button. The gold just pops out and looks much better than on the silver or black versions. The phone will be in a case anyway and i knew that, but the home button thing is the main reason.

However, Recently I have been drawn towards the space grey. I mean we all clamored for years that Apple should release the 2G iphone look in the 4/5 design and they finally did. And it seems everyone hates it lol.

Fall for what? It isn't like the customer had to pay more for the gold version. They paid the same as all the other colors. I'm not a fan of the gold but the people who did buy one didn't fall for anything. They purchased the phone they liked.

I dont wear jewelry, but I always preferred the look of silver jewelry over gold. Gold seems cheap and gaudy. Although Apple used a nice gold for the iPhone, not too flashy at all. Almost looks identical to silver at some angles.

However, I would never purchase a gold phone. A little tacky. I'm not knocking anyone who got one, but it seems like a phone that people would buy when they are craving attention or trying to prove their "status".

Whatever floats your boat though, if you like gold, get gold!

What did Kim Kardashian do that's so bad that nobody wants to be associated with her? What makes apple employees opinions so valuable?

Did you know that Fandroids think that iPhone owners are too dumb to use an Android device or we are just isheep but yet, you still own an Apple device and a member of an Apple community.

I was reading through this thread purely for entertainment value. (Looking for popcorn)

Anyways, I just wanted to add that the ring was the reason I passed on the Gold/Silver. I own a space grey because it just blends better. The ring just seems to be an unneeded touch of flash. I would expect to see this sort of work from LG or Samsung.

I also like the subtle flash you get from the space grey as it rests inside of the black leather case. The trim surrounding the whole phone shimmers black/grey in the light.

Enjoy your phones ladies and gentlemen

Are you mad that you couldn't get the first batch of gold phones? It's ok, they'll be available eventually.

Gold iphone owners who stayed with the color are happy with their choice. So if you got the space gray or silver then fine be happy with it. No need to bash or trash talk gold iphone owners to make you feel better or to justify your decision. Enough sour graping already!

Nope, I have a 32GB Space Gray. AKA the "NON-Kim Kardashian phone".

I'm oddly quite alright with that...

And nope, not jelly at ALL. I don't get suckered in just because of artificial demand. But if it works for you, whatever makes you happy I suppose :p

Have space grey and Love it.....

Not sure if I regret passing on the white so that it never gets "scratched".

Could Never use the gold phone in a professional setting personally.

There's not a lot of difference between silver and gold really. If you can use the silver in a professional setting you can use the gold. I use my gold iPhone in a corporate environment and it's totally fine.

I don't know what it is but ever since I got the gold on Friday now all i want is the Space Grey..lol

The gold doesn't bug me at all, but the white front face out of nowhere just started to irritate me after more than a year with a white phone.

I bought the Gold simply because it's a change from the black/silver and white/silver iPhones I have owned over the past few years.

Also, I bought it before any 'artificial' demand was created.

Though, I have yet to receive it yet, damn you Rogers.

I mean, it's just a phone, and it's just a colour.

It's pretty bad when a colour starts a war between those on the same hardware, instead of the tired, old, yet unavoidable android v.s. iOS debates.

I went from:

Black 3G (no white available at time of purchase)
Black 4
White 4S
Black/Slate 5
White/Gold 5S

I half agree with you... There is not much difference but depending on the field you are in that choice you made to buy the flashy gold phone does make a difference.

Only reason I played it safe.

Wish apple put the black screen in a raw aluminum finished body.

Right. I got the gold iphone, not because I personally like the way it looks. I got the gold iphone because of artificial demand.

I'm glad I don't know anyone as dumb as you.

Gosh will you take a look at this beauty?
