I wonder why ppl think having the white iPhone is girly. On my college campus, I dont see many guys with white iPhones, but I see a TON of guys with white android phones like Galaxy S3/4...

I don't. Not even one bit. It's my first non-black iPhone since the first one and I've upgraded to every version. It's not at all flashy, the color is actually a bit subdued. And oh, I'm still a guy after owning it. In fact, still masculine as ever. I'm not one of those people who gives a rat's ass to what people think or let society decide what I should own.
 
Each to his/her own. Color is very subjective and not one pleases everyone perfectly. So instead of depending your happiness with what the majority thinks, be more secured and happy with your own decision.

A lot of sour grapes in this thread. Just be happy apple gave us choices to choose from. At the end of the day, not everything / everyone revolves around your phone.
 
I compared gold with silver. Don't like the gold. It looks like you are trying too hard to advertise that you have a 5s. I think its a colour you will get fed up with. Also more for the wife IMO but that's just my opinion.

Sales person in Apple store told me that the gold rush is mostly hype online. In store its neck and neck with silver. She also told me she prefers silver or black herself. Its just a phone at the end of the day but I do feel that its just a goldrush because its gold and different. One comment mentioned people kept wanting to touch it. Yeah right!! That would be my worst nightmare! Someone is bound to drop it!!

I agree. I have a clear silicon case on mine so you can actually see the black / gray color combination.
 
Originally my choice was going to be the space gray 5s to match my slate iPad mini. But after I saw the gold color I changed mind and I do not regret it. I just love how subtle it is.

People associating it with gender is absolutely foolish. I don't think less of anyone for any color they pick. On another note I added cute kitty ears bumper to mine to make it all girly :D.
 
The gold is absolutely gorgeous once you get it out of intense fluorescent lighting (aka a store). I'm loving mine, and the fact that I got it cheaper than if I bought it in a store (I didn't have an upgrade). The gold is very subdued and classy, I like it.
 
I love mine still - the only reason I bought the 5s is because I love the color - I sent a blackberry to colorware years ago to have to painted gold - not because I wanted someone to "Look At Me" but because my favorite colors are gold and browns
 
zero regrets... I just wish I had the balls to carry my "iPhone 5s 32gb GOLD! Verizon" aka "The True Jesus Phone" bare without any protection :D Although I do have AppleCare+. I have a clear Griffin Reveal case so it still shows off that its gold.

p.s. I love saying those quotes to friends... RING RING RING... Jesus Phone, Patrick speaking LOL!

not to forget "GOLD" is a future investment into your pocket, 1-2 yrs from now you will get more from a Gold 5s resell than you would if you had a silver or grey...

Regrets--plenty

Since there are NO Gold iphone 5s to be had anywhere in the world, I would say my regrets are many. We were deceived by Apple into buying this model not knowing they did not exist. False advertising. Shame on Apple.:mad:
 
Gold by itself isn't one of my favorite colors, but I like a lot of things that have gold in the combination.

  • UCLA - Blue & Gold
  • 49ers - Red & Gold
  • C-3P0 & R2-D2 - Blue, White, & Gold
  • Green Ranger - Green, White, & Gold
  • Anaheim Ducks - Orange, Black, & Gold

I just like colors. My only regret is not being able to find a good (and inexpensive) green bumper so my iPhone could look like an iPhone made for the Green Ranger.
 
I know this has been asked before , but can I exchange my 5s at an apple store if I bought it through eBay? it's been under 30 days. would they make an exception for me?

they can look up the serial # to see when it was purchased. I don't have a receipt.
