Played with a Pro at Best Buy and was immediately fustrated by its contradictions; e.g. what good is the Pro's 4K-like screen when the Pro can only play Youtube videos at an unsharp 720p resolution? And what good is the Pro's extra large screen given that it exhibits a yellowish tint?

It's not a 4K screen for starters. Plus YouTube on the iPad can play in 1080p. But that's done to YouTube, hopefully soon the update comes that will allow the iPad pro to play 1440p videos, they will look a lot nicer! My iPad pro has no yellow tint at all.

After getting a great deal on a 'just like new' iPad, I again checked the Apple Refirb Store this time hoping to take advantage of any IPP returns (I'd love to score on a 128Gb model), but, not a single one in sight. It may be a bit early though, or maybe, there looking for a fix for the reason(s) they are being returned?

Wow 4K like, if that was the case that would have been a major incentive to purchase the device but it's still using the same resolution as all the other iPads use, nothing new......wait till the iPad pro 2 model comes, that would surely fix a lot of our complaints hopefully. A real iPad pro file support system, a actual 4K screen to account for the high cost of the device, 3rd generation Touch ID(second generation too fast), 4 window split screen support, a included Apple pencil, and 3D Touch. Selling a device without the included Apple pencil already is unbelievable. Apple really prefers profit over convenience.

I just came back from returning mine.

I think it is great for use on the couch, but on the bed it sucks. I bought the 32gb version to try out, and the storage size fits my needs. I would have kept it for its superior couch uses, but i found that it is $100 more than i want to spend.

So all in all, once the price drops by $100, which i believe will happen within 2 months, i will rebuy it. Keep my mini 3 next to my bed, and the IPP downstairs in the living room.

The SP4 did not last a week for me after trying it and returning it. For one, tablet mode was beyond pathetic.

My IPP will soon be a goner as I got an Air 2 cellular the other day at BB. I would not be doing Pro things so not worth $799 for just using it as a larger IPad and doing the same things. My artistic skills are limited to stickmen. :)
I'm not an artist, but I do take notes as I am a student. I can't get my hands on a pencil yet to get the full experience. I did play around a bit with the pencil in the store. It seemed very nice during the 5 minutes or so that I had with it.

I purchased the iPP on launch day, and was quickly disappointed by the lack of Pencil and Office with inking. I need both for teaching. So I returned it, and purchased a Surface Pro 4. Used it for about 10 days, I couldn't stand the constant app and Windows crashing, and it went back to the store too.

Meanwhile I finally got a Pencil, and decided to buy the iPP again. I though I'd just turn my slides into PDFs and ink with the annotation function. Fortunately, I came across GoodNotes 4, which works really nicely with the Pencil. It has been only two days, but I am impressed so far.

No matter how many people don't appreciate the iPad pro, myself included, there is no device buggier than the surface pro 4. I can never recommend that mess of a device to anyone. I'm actually doing well with an iPad Air 2 with a ultra slim keyboard case. It gets me by until the iPad Air 3 or iPad pro 2 comes out. Enjoy ya iPad pro and be thankful you got at least a suitable tablet hybrid back.

Owning a SP4 was really a bad experience for a few days until Microsoft releases a major update which was 10586.29

now its silent. and the fan is almost invisible and the battery last really longer. these little things that i like and how microsoft making an updates from time to time is good.

windows hello is freaking killer. so fast and very accurate

Sold my IPP and now have a Mini2 that I got at Staples for $190. I just didn't like the size of the IPP. The mini is tossable and you can flick it out almost like a phone. Much better for browsing while laying in bed or kicked back in the recliner. And the weight...oh the glorious lightness of the mini. Saving nearly $800 (IPP 32gb with warranty/tax = ~$1,000) was a bonus also.

I don't draw or need the fastest processor - I believe I was simply attracted to the novelty of such a big iPad. I think the only thing that could persuade me to use a tablet of that size is if it runs a full operating system. I will deal with the size if the device can function as a laptop and tablet.

Most are opting for the Minis or Air 2 on the cheap if the IPP is not to their liking for the cost. My Air 2 seems like a Mini now compared to the IPP I have been using for a month. Every time I use the Air 2 I keep looking at it and swear I have a Mini in my hands and the weight is also neglible. :)

This is exactly what happened with the SP3 - buggy, but Microsoft released pretty frequent updates that fixed it.

It became one of the most stable products I've owned, iPads and various macs included.

Since that is Microsofts proven track record with the Surfaces - I fully expect the SP4 and Surface Book to follow suit.

Gotta hand it to MS - the tablet/laptop concept seems brilliant and it sounds like they don't give up until the bugs are worked out as much as possible. I really like the minimalist-ness of having one device that can do just about everything. Granted, the drop/damage rate is probably much higher on tablets so I'd be a little uneasy about having everything on a tablet.

I just returned my IPP. I really like the device, the speakers are awesome! But coming from an ipad mini, which was starting to become hard to read. I needed a larger device. I found the compromise again with the ipad air 2. I wanted to take the Pro with me everywhere, but its to darn big to use everywhere. I like to take it to the gym and workout with it on the treadmill. But the ipad pro just looks ridiculous and carrying it. I feel quiet subconscious.

Spent the weekend with the pro I'm glad I tried it but its going back to AT&T really for two issues, I'm using it for movies and Comics and Magazines, for Mags the size is great but it is really too heavy in portrait to use for long. FOr videos I have a big issue with the Color gamut of the screen, it is really noticible that the screen, probably to accommodate the new tech is not as wide a gamut as the Ipad Air. Its about 80 percent of the Air 2 and its really noticible on Vids, not so much on Magazines. Having put up with the issue on the Mini 2 for so long I feel that even if its not quite as bad here, its bad enough for a $1000 device. I'l wait to see what apple comes up with for an Ipad Air 3, I'm tempted to try out the Samsung TabS2 , but the horrible battery life is keeping me from the better screen.

Battery life is not horrible on the Tab s2, I get about 9 to 10 hours on about 70 percent brightness. This should give you more than a full day of use.

I like the screen on the S2, I'm worried about the android echosystem but for what I'd be using it for mainly Vids and Comics and Magazines they re probably ok for that

Yep, you will be more than okay with that. Comics and magazines look amazing with super amoled. I have both an iPad Air 2 and a Galaxy Tab S2 and I prefer magazines and reading on my S2. I use my iPad Air 2 mainly in grad school due to the tablet optimized applications with an attached keyboard for typing etc. My go to tablet at home is the S2 for media and every other thing that I love to do. Also, I have a 200 GB Microsd card on my S2 which transcends my storage ability.

Same here. I haven't returned mine yet but I have an Air 2 and it's perfect for the gym. The Pro is too big and while awesome for home use it's ridiculous at the gym or on the road. Also it's not productive enough for my needs. Got an MacBook Air today at Best Buy for practically the same price!

What made you return it? Something was driving some level of buyers remorse and what changed to cause you to re-buy the iPad?

I think I had initially been suckered into the idea that it was really a pro device. I was so disappointed the first couple of days that the return to the store was inevitable.

But it did do some things really well. For example being able to read documents and text based websites in portrait orientation gives it an advantage over laptops. It's the first tablet of any kind that is not a compromise in terms of display or size.

The good thing about it not being a "pro" device is that the problem comes down to developer support. Of course for that to happen, there need to be changes to iOS, the App Store, and adoption rates for the iPad Pro need to be high.

I contemplated returning mine, but I have found that it does justtttt enough pro level stuff that I am fully satisfied with keeping it.

I really think this thing is already great and has a massive amount of potential. It is, however, going to be a long-played game with development support.

It is big, and that can be an advantage and a disadvantage. I think reading can be a plus on this, but this may cause arm fatigue.

I was playing with the IPP at the apple store yesterday, it was nice, but for me, it seemed too big. The funny thing is, I think its the same size of my Surface Pro 3, yet it seemed bigger, perhaps because of the resolution or the large spacing between the icons. Either way, I find my SP3 to be very mobile and holdable, but this seemed kind of awkwardly large - at least for my needs.

Although the screen is technically only 0.9" larger, the overall area is about 14% larger v SP3 (including bezels). People used to the lightness of the iPad Air 2 and Mini 4 will definitely feel the "unwieldiness" of the iPad Pro. I like it, but it doesn't have the "just pick it up when you like" feel the other iPads have. For me at least, I have to consciously decide to pick it up and handle it.

That makes sense, I thought I was imagining things :p

I didn't really compare the dimensions of both products because I'm not looking to replace the SP3 but it felt larger
